Played 7/17 morning. Always a well maintained course. The greens were firm and fast. Conditions were good. Rough and fairways in good shape despite the heat. Tons of locals play here because they all have reserved tee times from the men's club. I usually come here as a single once a month. Nice clubhouse was fantastic place to have drinks and food after the round. They also set up a BBQ around 11 am. Pace of play was 5 hours because they allow 5somes on this course.

Played twilight round at 3 pm on 7/3/2010. Slow pace was to be expected on a busy day and we finished after 8 but before dark. I like this layout. It has a good mix of challenging shots and birdie opportunities - overall very scorable. The greens were quite bumpy in the late pm but we still had an enjoyable day.

Played (at) 7 am on 6/5. Walked on as a single. Starter was friendly and helpful. Joined another 4some. Course is in great shape. Greens were perfect. condition. Rough and fairway was in good shape too. I played with regulars here and they really take care of the course. Fairway, tee box and green divots were fixed religiously. Pace of play was 5 hours, but we didn't have to wait too much.

Will come back again soon since it's 10 minutes from my house.

I played on April 1. The greens had just been punched but they appeared to be recovering nicely. They gave us twilight rates which was perfect for me since I hadn't played in 5 months. There was absolutely no one on the course which was quite enjoyable. It has been a long time since I played a twosome and had the run of the course. The course is a great value and my only complaint is the driving range didn't have tees for the mats??

Montebello is a good value. For that price range ($41 weekends) it has the best greens of all the courses I play. Many of the holes are quite long from the back tees, but at least if you hit a wayward shot there are plenty of adjoining fairways bordered with sparse trees and somewhat short rough. There are a couple holes that are right next to the Pomona Freeway which always bugs me, but that's true of many LA golf courses.
As for the concession facility, the prices were better than average but they close the kitchen at 3:30 PM and the bar around 5 or 6 PM even though they're running a large banquet facility and night club in the same building. Nonetheless, the staff was friendly and helpful, particularly a young lady named Daisey who tended the bar.
By the way, we did not experience any attitude from starter as mentioned above. We dealt with someone jovial and kind.

played on 10/05/2009. Start time 12:14 pm. Course was in decent shape. Some brown spots but mostly green. The greens were really nice. Rarely did I see a lot of divot marks on the greens. I found the course to be challenging. A lot of easy lies with a lot of bunkers on a lot of holes.

Went to play alone but they paired me up with another player. Made us share a cart. If we wanted our own cart they would've charged $24 per person. Finished 18 holes in 3 hours and 30 minutes. Luckily the group in front of us saw that we were a two-some and let us play ahead of them and we had the front nine with no one in front or behind us.

Golf couse is not that bad for public course. However, all the workers in golf course except the food servers, it's horriable. Golf course starter (Asian guy) is totally jerk. They have policy that if you play later hours where, around 1 hour before sundown, they will make you bring the golf cart back. They charge you golf cart and they take you golf carts away from you without refund. It has been always like this. Worse golf cart policy in the U.S.A. or anywhere in the world. Golf course is okay but, service is very poor. I would play this golf course more often but, horriable service from starter to the marshall. Most of all golf cart policy really sucks in this course.
