Played this morning. Course is in decent shape...they just can't seem to figure out the greens...they look great...but are slow.... The fairways and rough are in good shape. Traps had decent sand in them and well raked. Quite a challenging course from the blues. Lots of tough 400 plus yard Par 4's. Finishing hole is one of the toughest @ 430 yards.. Was hoping to see Eddy, the starter there...nice, friendly, and accommodating....instead we got Sam, frowning, miserable...cheer up buddy. $45 bucks to walk to on the expensive side of muni's in LA...if it weren't for the great guys (men's club and locals) that play this course..I would not patron them. There is a taco shop you can walk to between 5th and 6th hole...if there is a wait on 6th hole (par 3)..go get a taco!

Played yesterday. Pace of play was slow considering we were a walking foursome following a 4some in carts. Greens in great shape, a little bumpy but ran very true. Sand in bunkers around green very thin; very hard to get under the ball when you would hit the bottom of the bunker so easily. Fairways were lush. Tee boxes were flat.

I was unprepared for this course. It plays long. Even with a decent drive you were hitting approach shots around 200 yards to the green. Should have brought my 3/4 irons to help in this. They have redone the course and it looks great. Traditional course with loads of character. Careful around the greens though, subtle breaks and undulations abound. Next time I will be better prepared. Doing the head slap after reading the course tips. LOL next time I will be better prepared.

I like this course. Pace of play could be improved but overall conditions are great for this area. Bring your water as no access to water on the course -- only at the turn. Oh yeah for food on the cheap hit up J&S around the corner from the golf course $4 pastrami sandwiches that are the bomb!

The greens are still recovering from a recent aeration. We played Sunday 11/27/11 teeing off in the late morning. Every putt had to navigate the bumps left over from the punching; you didn't know what was going to to happen, which is frustrating for short putts you're accustomed to holing. This is a good course when it's in good shape. It was in much better shape years ago (right after the remodeling) but at $42 to walk it's still a good bargain and in line with other City courses. Also the bar was open after dark which is a nice change, but they still close the kitchen at about 4:30 PM. Despite having room full of guys drinking pitchers of beer, they don't even bother trying to sell hot dogs and nachos. I guess that's the recession?

Played 7/5 - 6:30 tee time, weather was already warm, got hot by the time we finished, 3hr 40min round, no waiting except for 1st tee. Course was in decent condition, tee boxes are OK for level, lush with not too many divots or dry spots, fairways were in good condition with very few dry spots, rough was 3-4 inches with some areas dirt showing, greens were lush but very slow about 9 on stimp, only a few ball marks here and there, bunkers were mostly dirt (Like almost every course now) and were wet from morning watering. Don't expect it to get much better for a while with the summer heat coming, and financial problems with the city, but it's a good fun track to play and only 20 minutes from me.

Played on 4/17. Take in a round here every few months. It's a pleasant course with consistent conditions. Wide fairways lined with mature trees. Not much elevation change, though there are some sidehill lies if you wander outside the fairway on a few holes. Short rough, so you never lose a ball. The greens are recovering from aeration. Bumpy rolls and sandy. It'll be back to normal soon.

Played 3/2/11, weekday afternoon with overcast skies and no wind to speak of. Haven't played here for a while due to health issues but was a regular on weekends. The course is in fine shape, except for the usual inconsistent sand traps (ranging from hard dirt to fluffy sand), the greens were in the best condition I have seen in a long time, smooth and fast. Overall a nice round completed in just over 4 hours.

Played here on 11/6 (at) 7:30 am. Joined the usual men's group tee time as a 5 some. They were having their monthly tournament here so it was slow because they had to putt out all their putts. Course is in good shape. Pace of play was almost 3 hours for the front and then in the back it was 2 hours. Greens were medium pace but in good condition. Fairways and rough were in good shape. Bunkers were wet. This is not an easy course. The first 4 holes are pretty long, but the back nine opens up until the last three holes which are tough. Customer service was pretty good. The locals really take good care of this course in the mornings..fixing divots and repair the green divots religiously. Nice snack bar....with tons of drink specials.

This course is challenging and at the same time enjoyable. From the first tee alone you get a good rush per it is a little down hill so a chance to par or birdie is very possible but after that the course forces your skills and club selection to take over even on the three par holes that are out there. Overall my experience was very good, The people are very friendly and that includes the diner/coffee shop that serves good and afordable food that you can call in and order at the ninth hole via courtesy phone at the tee box to set you for the back nine. The couse and staff get an A
