Played this AM. Out early done early. Course is still in good shape (IMO) with good fairway coverage (yes a few thin spots) and lies. Rough has been cut, so no issues there. Tee boxes were all playable. Someday we will (I hope) have some positive input on the traps? Greens came back in very good shape after aeration. Chip/putt very well with good speed (about 8/9). Great customer service. Best twilight rate (starting at 10:30) $21 walking - $32 riding, for those that play later in the day. Even cheaper after 2 PM until Nov 4. Course closed this Friday for a large tournament.

Played this AM in 3 H. Course is holding its own. Tee boxes were fine. Fairways have good coverage, though some spots are brown vs green, but overall lies and roll were good. Greens were in good shape and chipped/putted very nicely. We have known for a long long time bunkers could/should be in better shape. Rough is not difficult to play out of. Customer service was and is always excellent from staff on M-Tues and F in the AM, which is the time we play.

Greens were in great shape. Softer in the morning and firmed up a touch as the sun came out. Rolling really smooth and pure. The putting green by the pro-shop is a great indicator of the overall conditions of the greens. Stay below the hole!

Fairways were in average muni condition. They were definitely played thin and firm for the most part, but there were no issues with the lies and there was always grass under the ball. One a couple fairways, there were some noticeable dirt patches, especially on 18 fairway, but these were in the vast minority.

Rough was thick and sticky, especially in the dew of the morning. It appears to be growing out.

Tees were level. There were some areas with divot damage, especially on the shorter holes, but there was never a problem finding a flat patch of grass to tee from.

Like every other review, the sand is the obvious worst part of this course. However, while they were bad, they were consistently bad in the same way (very little sand), which made them fine to play from.

POP just under 4:30, good customer service from everyone. This is really fun layout that gives you a lot of options on a number of holes. Go play!

I was a little hesitant to play after reading the prior review but must say it is patently false. Is this a pristine course? No. But it was nothing like the previous reviewer reported.

The tees were mostly level with good coverage. Par 3 tees had been shuffled around to keep good grass available.

The fairways had good coverage. They were thin in spots and outside of some small isolated areas were wonderful to hit off of.

The rough was thick in spots, the locals warned us they hadn’t been trimmed in a while and would be tough.

The greens were borderline excellent. A pleasure to putt on, rolling true and medium/fast consistently throughout the round.

The customer service was good as the pro shop and restaurant staff were great.

Will definitely be playing here more even if it’s just for the greens.

I’m going to try and be as nice as possible with this review. In short this is the worst course I have ever played. To attach the words country club is absolutely false advertisement. I rode the blues, POP 4 hours for my work tournament. We are always the first group so this is misleading as we caught a foursome that started an hour before us. I will start with the positive, the greens are very good. A touch slower than sterling and they rolled true. The rest of the course is terrible. Uneven tee boxes, the fairways were straight dirt. The traps and you shouldn’t call them that were dirt pits with no sand. When I say no sand I’m talking drives hit into them just rolled out. I pay $7 to play Vista Valencia and I wouldn’t pay close to that for Montebello. I’ve never said this in a review, but don’t play this course. We ate in the restaurant after and the service was fantastic and so was the burger. So maybe go to the restaurant and putt on the putting green.

Played early this AM prior to tournament. The greens after aeration have come back very nice. They punched on the 9th. No issues. Fairways still have good coverage and seemed better after several days of cool weather. No changes made on the bunkers, so past statements still apply. The rough had been cut down to manageable level. Tee boxes were all good and playable. Excellent customer service as usual.

Played today. They did the greens a week ago today and they came back very nice. Still some fine sand that will slow putts down, but no holes. So now they say they will verticut tomorrow. So it might be another week for total healing I guess. Fairways are beginning to show brown areas, I guess the dog days of summer took their toll. You can find some good lies but you will also find a brown area, no way around it. But they are rolling out very good. Lots of rough outside of fairways and around the greens, compared to my last time here. Always great customer service in AM. Not sure about PM as I don't play then.

Played this AM in 2.5 H. Course is holding its own during this heat spell. Greens are in great shape at the moment, but they are punching Sept 9 (hope they come back like they are now?) Fairways have good coverage and lies, though there are some areas browned out and they have decent roll. Semi long rough on the outside of the fairways and around the greens. You can read my previous comments on the bunkers, as there are no changes. Great customer service this morning, as always from Mr E.

More rough outside of fairways than last play and it is thick. Tee boxes were all clean and playable. Fairways were all playable with no issues. Greens are still in great shape? Chipped/putted just fine. Great customer service as always.
