Played at Rancho Vista on Thursday, November 11, Veteran's Day in a fundraiser scramble. I have not been here for quite some time, and the course is in great shape. Lush grass from tee to green on all holes. Number 2 green was a little damaged, but not bad. I recall that green always had some kind of problem with either bad water, soil, or fungus. For the most part, the greens were fast and smooth. Nice collars cut around the greens, with a second cut before the rough making a really nice look. A couple of tee boxes were a little unlevel, but not terrible. The wind was howling today at around 20 to 30 m.p.h. and made scoring difficult.

Course is in the best shape it has been since it opened in 2000. Superintendent Sean Moore and his staff have put in a great job of keeping the fairways and teeboxes in Tour shape. Anything in the fairway will result in a perfect lie. Bringing in some new sand into some bunkers makes the place look great. Course is building a reputation of great service and excellent playing conditions. Good food at a reasonable price in the Cascades Grill located in the Golf Shop. Would recommend this course to anyone... Call and make a teetime today!!!

Played Sunday 1/3. During the winter they do 9 am shotgun starts in lieu of frost delays that can screw up the whole day. I hadn't been out here in a year or so, as the course had taken a turn for the worse. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the course is in exceleent condition!! Especially for the middle of winter in the desert. Our round was just over 4 hours, all the staff were friendly, and I'll definitely be putting the course back into the rotation!

What I meant was: "There were a couple of greens WITH SPOTS that WERE bare and dead."

Rancho Vista GC has been terrible for many months to a year, but it has since come back with a good golfing conditions all around its course.

Rancho Vista GC has been terrible for many months to a year, but it has since come back with a good golfing conditions all around its course.

The greens are now back to firm and smooth. Though there were a couple of greens that is bare and dead, the overall recovery of all the greens are in excellent conditions.

The bunkers: all bunkers have new sand.

The teeing grounds are lush and green and cut tight.

The fairways are in great shape.

Overall, this course is well worth playing.
