Played back 9 Saturday. Greens a little bumpy in the AM from morning dew but firmed up and quickened as the sun warmed up the course. Greens in pretty good shape after that and rolled fairly well. Played as a single behind a fivesome as the last "group" for the back. They were slow. They were at least a hole behind and when the first group finally caught up with us on the 16th hole... my personal frustration level rose. Mind you that is just my personal pet peeve but the pace of play could have been a "little" bit faster.

Overall conditions of the course is good. Very playable and definitely satisfies that need to play golf when you have the urge. Can't say much for the front 9 since I did not play. Just be mindful some of the greens on the back are a little patchy in places but if I recall correctly only 2 of the 9 greens had any sort of damage to the edges of the greens. Overall though greens looked and rolled fairly well AFTER the sun warmed up the place.

Only play here because it's close and cheap. The fairways are inconsistent (ie. bare spots) and a few greens evidently have been attacked by some fungus or disease. Maintenance crew is trying to patch them but they continue to be terrible. Very slow play. On the plus side it's cheap and you can always get on (as a single).

Due to where I live, Alondra is my "home course". Expectations are not high...that said, there are a few greens on the back (#10 in particular) that are severely stressed. Otherwise, the usual applies- slow pace of play, inconsistent greens from front to back nine, and inconsistent pairings- we were a fivesome playing behind a twosome. But its 5 minutes from the house so I'll be back!

This will be a good news, bad news review of this course. Got out today around 11:45 and joined up with a twosome and two other singles. The fairways were a bit wet with some casual water in lower areas, not dry, so no roll. The rough was fair for the most part but really high and uncut in some areas. That's the good news. The greens were in the worst shape I have seen in years. Super bumpy with small brown patches everywhere! They were damp and very wet. Many, many unfixed ball marks every where. They were very slow and the ball did not hold it's line due to the bumpiness That's the bad news. They rate there is 26 bucks to walk so I guess that's the good news. The course is not that long and a lot of the par 4's are a drive and a wedge in. The really challenging holes are the 9th and 18th because they are both par 5's that play directly into a daily, strong ocean breeze. Still, i had a very fun day.

Played Sunday morning as a single. Got out in the 3rd group. Played in 3 1/2 hrs. Great pace. Noticed the the group behind us was over a hole behind after 8 holes.
Course was a little on the wet side, in the low areas. Greens were bumpy today, slow with less break than normal. They were not shaggy, they looked ok, but putts would jump up or off line off all of our putters.
Fairways were tight and spongy, it was the rub o the green as to which lie you would find.
Rough is Kykuyu, how ever you spell it, and was not long but it could shut your club down still.
Sand was wet and heavy in the few traps I got into.
Tee boxes were ok.
I just like the fact I can get out on a Sunday morning and be home by 10am.

Got out this morning as a single. Was in the third group out @ 5:55am.
$35 to walk, well worth it. This course is a no frills L.A. County course, flat, wide open and fairly easy. But it is nice to play when you need a golf fix and an ego boost.
We finished in 3:45! I can't complain about that. The guys in the group were super nice and it was an enjoyable morning!
Greens were in decent shape, slow to med speed. Fairways tight in some spots, lush in others. Traps were pretty good.

Played Sunday. Pace of play was pretty quick. After 11 the groups are pretty sporadic so you can really get lucky and play quickly which is what happened to us.

Greens were in pretty good shape. They held the line fairly well with a few bumps but nothing where the ball literally skips to the hole. The greens run med/fast and hold their line well. Fairways are green but in some spots are either dormant or burned out (like hole 7). Around the greens however the complexes are well grown with thick rough and a decent skirt around each green. Tee boxes were flat. Sand in bunkers well stocked. (Thanks to Annika for tips for hitting out of bunkers :))

Overall I was happy with the course. Not a lot of trouble and fairly open course so you can spray the ball without a lot of consequences. Recovery is easy here.

Do I recommend playing here? Well yes. It is after all golf. Not spectacular golf but it will certainly cure your golf bug in a pinch.

Played Father's Day and was setting myself for a LONG round. Boy was I mistaken. Teed up at 2PM as a threesome. I guess run-of-the-mill munis were not on most Father's Day lists. Finished 9 after 2 hours.... then one of our threesome left us. We caught up to a foursome who allowed us to play through and proceeded to finish the back 9 in 1 hour 30 mins!

Woohoo!

Course conditions decent. Greens on the front are a little on the slow side. Golfers, please repair your divots. Back 9 greens were really bumpy did not hold a line like the front 9. Fairways throughout the course except two holes were lush. Sand in bunkers OK. Rough is playable; not too thick or sticky. Overall being my neighbor course where I play a lot it's OK golf for a reasonable price.
