I was looking at the list of reviews for this course and I suppose this has become my home course what with me living 2 minutes away I suppose it was inevitable.

Course conditions are pretty decent. Greens have healed after aeration. Front 9 are pretty decent greens. Back 9 are a little bumpy. Fairways in decent shape. Rough is decent a little on the thin side and not too penalizing. The thing about this course is it's doesn't have a lot of trouble the rough would be the changing factor but that again is just my opinion.

Pace of play was slow. Five-some in front slowed down on the back but we did finish in around 4 3/4 hours. Conditions here have improved. Once they cut the back 9 greens it should be pretty decent.

Played yesterday twilight. Finished 9 in under 1 1/2 hours as a twosome. Greens are aerated. They roll pretty smooth considering all the greens are sanded over. They used smaller tines so I am thinking the greens will heal pretty quick. Not a lot of bumpiness on the front nine. The course is flat so don't expect tough course conditions. Pace of play was great considering heavy winds. I predict the greens will heal on the front fairly quickly and they should roll pretty well. Give it about 2 weeks minimum.

Played Saturday twilight after 2pm. $17 to walk. Pace a little slow we were 3some walking following a 4some in carts. Greens fast/med and very hard. Have to treat front 9 holes as links style and run ball up (newer greens) versus back 9 where you can get aggressive. Skirts around are bouncy so they really take the momentum out of the ball so decide where you want ball to land and trust the results. Sand in bunkers good. Fairways thin but playable. Tee boxes level. Just a word guys fix your divots! Pace of play ok. But guys be considerate of the group behind you we want to finish just as badly as you do.

I very seldom play Alondra for any number of reasons, but decided to make the drive and play it perhaps one more time. It was as I expected. Scruffy conditions, decent greens but they were much too slow for my taste. For whatever reason, I have never been able to "warm" to this course. Even after the renovation of the front nine, the course just doesn't do it for me. The holes feel very redundant? The only real positive was I did make an ace on # 14, so I guess it couldn't have been all that bad a day!

I played Lakewood, Los Verdes and Alondra (12 holes) in the last four days, and it amazes me to admit that Alondra was in the better condition. Not to say great or even very good, but definitely better. It looked like Los Verdes and Lakewood were skimping on water while Alondra looked greener. Some areas were dormant with tight lies but overall the fairways and rough were pretty good. The greens were not bad (if you don't count the ball divots). The sand traps were full of foot prints although I was in three and managed to land in fairly smooth lies. It looked like some of the footprints were at least 24 hours old so the grounds crew is not raking them. The pace of play was okay for an afternoon round.

played on 10-28 friday afternoon. Second time playing this course, and was surprised how decent the conditions are. I've been playing on aerated greens the past few rounds, so playing on non aerated greens was a relief. For a city course i thought the greens were pretty good. Another plus was the bunkers. I was in about 4 bunkers, and each one was nice and manicured. Tee boxes alittle uneven and chewed up, but i expect that on a city course.

Dawn Patrol Sunday Morning. Pace of play was OK group ahead was a tad slow for my taste. Still finished in 4 hours so it's all good. Greens are still slow, a little bumpy, but are coming back nicely from aeration. Fairways are OK. Rough is growing thick. Sand in bunkers are nonexistent at times but OK.

Greens require a certain shot to the hole so make sure you can throw the ball up and stop it. Overall I like the course, completely wide open. No trouble and a great confidence building course to shoot low.

Playing in the AM won't hurt either.

Played on june 16 2011 with my brother and we both agreed that alondra is in its best shape we have ever seen it in. Now im not saying its a great golf course because its not but for alondra it was nice to see good green fairways and rough. The greens were rolling better than they usually do. The front nine is much better than the back nine because they have yet to re-do the back. 26 $ to walk during the week. Enjoyed my day.
