First time playing this course. We had a tee time around 7 am. It took us just over 4 1/2 hours to play 18. Not bad for a holiday. Course is in good shape. Tee boxes and fairways were in decent shape for a muni. Fairways were a little mushy in spots as the grounds keeper were over watering some of the fairways. Fairways were a little thin in spots but overall in good shape. Bunkers were in good shape today. Due to the drizzle in the morning today, the sand was a little wet. Rough was in decent shape with thin spots here and there. Greens were in great shape. There were unrepaired ball marks here and there, which is not the courses fault.

Course is fairly flat. The par 3s are fairly long here. I was surprised that most of the fairways were fairly wide where you can just grip it and rip it. It was nice they got rid of the old run down (and almost broken) golf carts. Not used to parking the golf carts without the click sound when you park. We saw a lot of people walking the course with the new green fees in effect. Course didn't seem overly busy for a holiday.

Went out this afternoon, 6/9 at 2:30 as a 3-some and got around in a touch under 4 hours. We could see the twilight rate surge on the course behind us. Overall, the course was in very nice shape. Tee ... Continue »

Went out this afternoon, 6/9 at 2:30 as a 3-some and got around in a touch under 4 hours. We could see the twilight rate surge on the course behind us. Overall, the course was in very nice shape. Tee boxes were generally very good to excellent: generally flat and well covered and no bare, chewed up areas. Fairways tend towards shorter vs. lush, but no noticable bare areas and a fair amount of roll, which is to be expected on these SF Valley munis. No complaints there. In one bunker and it was in good shape. The large greens were a medium fast pace and in very nice shape -- a minimum of pitch marks and rolled pretty true. Fortunately for me, the rough was mostly not too challenging, but not bare either. As a pretty straight forward muni, I thought the course was in very good shape. If you like this course, now is a good time to play it. As an aside, we saw a little wildlife drama. A coyote jogged about 20 yards by me as I approached the 5th green. My partners called my attention as I set up to putt, and when I looked back, watched as the coyote spotted a squirrel out crossing in the middle of the fairway. The coyote cut him off from the trees as the squirrel made an obviously doomed dash, and the coyote finished him off just feet from the nearest tree trunk. Life and death in the big city. Kinda sad, because you could see early on that the squirrel was screwed. Would've liked to see him close enough to the trees to make it a contest.

Greens are in good shape, but they will be aerifying soon. Fairways were in nice condition, without problem areas. Got some good roll in the fairways, making several of the par 5's reachable. If I could only hit a decent second shot... Sand was light and fluffy, even the wet bunker (one greenside) wasn't bad. Left side rough on 13 had a lot of gopher holes. I think one swallowed my ball.

Played 3/31 at 9:00 am. Nothing magical about the course, but great opportunities to hone your stokes. The course is in nice condition after all the rains this year. The rough is especially lush making my typical second shot more difficult than usual. Some traps were hard while others were deceptively soft...best advice: stay out of 'em. Greens were in good shape, but they will be punched in the next week or so. The price of golf at LA munis went up last year. Looks like some of that new money was spent a the Sepulveda Dam golf complex. The range has all new mats AND all the golf carts are brand new. This is very welcome news. In addition, you can now pay for carts at the STARTER WINDOW with a CREDIT card. All welcome changes to the muni course.

Played with friends 8/29/09. Teed off at 9:40 am and finished about 3. However it wasn't because course played slow, but because one of our friends in the foursome is disabled and moves a little slower than the rest of us. The course was in very good shape considering the - heat over 100 degrees. The greens were in excellent condition. Fairways were green and groomed nicely, though there were a few bare spots. Over all our group had a very good time!

Sat waiting list deal- nobody on list (at) 5am- everybody gets out. Sign of economy? 83 from tips. Greens lush, thick like your carpet- Very slow. But in excellent shape. Fairways are improving- not ragged as it was. Tee boxes continue to be challenge to find level spot. Overall look to course very good. More grass in some rough area's to speed play as what was there in the past ( forest). Pace was excellent- 4 hrs on a 6:18 tee off. Marshall made rounds all day. Only negative is bunkers- reminded me of childhood walking down dirt roads in Tobbaco Road parts of North Carolina. No sand- dirt. Could grounds crew rake 'em before round to get yesterdays foot prints out? Oh yea- hot & humid even at that time. 8:30 ish or so to get to snack bar on 11- CLOSED! Same deal as Griffith- why don't they open these so early goers can get some drinks?

A great beginner golf course. Wide open fairways, big greens, not terribly long. Also not a bad place for bogey golfers to hone their skills. Greens are typically slow and don't break much until the last 12 inches. Fairways are firm, sometimes real hard in places. I played at noon and was done by 4. All the par 3s are pretty long. 17 was using an alternate tee box and didn't have yardage for a par 3, which was a bit annoying. Otherwise, worth every penny of the $26 green fees.
