Played today. Spoiler alert -- Greens Aerated perhaps a week by the look of it. No mention on GK so please make note of it.

Greens as noted were bumpy. Some of the larger greens had half punched the smaller greens (pretty much the rest of the course) had been punched. Fairways in decent shape. Rough is thick/thin in spots. Tee Boxes were flat. Pace of play OK but with the size of the course and it being closer to twilight folks do skip around holes.

Course is typically busy but still finished in at or around 4 hours walking. Would I play here again? Of course especially since you can finish in or under 4 hours on most days and if light is a problem, they supply their own then the sun goes down. Just have to ignore the planes taking off and landing.

Played Sunday 9/29/13 around 10:30 AM. The starter was nice and told us that it was surprisingly quiet that day for a Sunday morning.

Front 9 went by pretty fast. We played as a foursome and a pair came up fast behind us and we let them play through. Otherwise we didn't see anyone behind us for at least 2 holes back and the group in front of us was moving at a good pace.

Took a quick bathroom break at the turn and caught up to a group for the back 9. It wasn't a long wait and mostly on the Par 3's. Ended up finishing around 3:45. I was pleasantly surprised by the pace of play for a weekend. The staff was friendly and didn't have many complaints about conditions. I'd come back and play again if I were in the area.

So while watching this abomination of a delay at the Solheim Cup I decided to go to Westchester, walk 18, and write this review...ok so maybe just the writing part. Anyway, typical conditions here. Better than your average LA muni. Greens were really nice and had a good pace to them. Held shots well. Fairways were in good shape with good lies all day. Rough was manageable and had good coverage throughout. Bunkers had loads of soft fluffy sand. There was a thick soupy fog when we teed off this morning and perhaps that was the reason the course was emptier than usual? Our twosome didn't catch up to anyone until the 12th hole and even then it was a brisk pace. The next group behind us was at least 4 holes back but nobody behind them either. POP was 3 hours. As always the main defense are the greens which generally slope back to front and are pretty small. Best to be below the hole. Come out and play right now!

Played Tuesday (6/11) mid morning with my buddy and we were paired with two cool guys. POP was 3.5 hours. Greens are bumpy and chewed up. Fairways are good / above average muni condition. Sand was fluffy in the one trap I was in. This course is a par 65 - lots of par threes with some short par fours and fives mixed in. Sits right next to the LAX runway, so not a quiet place by any means. Not really my favorite or first choice, but for $23 (walking) and a sub four hour round in Los Angeles, it works.

Played yesterday.

Pace of Play always decent. Took 4 hours to play 18. Course is in decent shape. Greens roll quick (they always roll quick here). They take good care of the course and it shows. Some bare spots on the fairway in some areas but definitely playable.

Bunkers are well stocked with sand. Wind was up today so it added another dimension to the round. Our twosome followed a foursome which was 4 holes behind. No idea to get us to play ahead or split 4-some and 2-some into two threesomes. Oh well no worries just a comment there.

Course is in pretty good condition. Greens hold their line. Love the speed of the greens. Not too slow and not overly fast. 3 greens on the back are top dressed it appears. 15/16 and 17 with a light sanding.

Play here again? Of course! Great place to play a round in 3-4 hours flat.

Greens: Surprisingly in pretty good shape. If people fixed their ball marks, they would be in even better shape. They were rolling medium-fast this morning with a little bumpiness. My experience here is that the greens on the front nine are much softer than the greens on the back 9. The good news is, all throughout the back nine, we saw maintenance workers cutting out the trouble spots and filling them in with sand/seed mixtures.

Fairways: Another pleasant surprise here. They have really filled in and provided a pretty lush carpet to hit off of. A few areas with divot damage, but I didn't really notice very many bare areas or infested areas.

Rough: Not really existent. A few places around the greens it can give you a little trouble, but more times than not the ball sits up nicely.

Tees: Always a little beat up here and this day was no exception. The good news is management had a couple areas on some holes roped off. They really do a good job rotating tee placements here to try and keep some semblance of grass cover.

Sand: Always good here. My one complaint is that some bunkers have too much fluffy sand on top, almost guaranteeing a fried egg.

POP, etc: $23 to walk 18 holes in 3.5 hours. I know it's an "executive" course, but that price and time is hard to beat. Especially considering their conditions rival some of the local munis (Rancho) for half the price and less of a time commitment. Customer service is always good. The giant range is great, two large putting greens and a sand area are also nice touches.

OK so I like quick rounds of golf. So I like playing Executive courses only because the pace of play is faster than a typical championship course, but can you honestly disagree with me when I say I not only get a decent rate for a Friday but manage to finish in 3 1/2 hours; leaving me enough time in the rest of the day to actually do some work?

Course conditions for the amount of play this course gets is in my humble opinion GOOD. Greens roll true and quick. Sand in bunkers (and I saw three of them today) were well stocked with sand. Fairways in good shape for this time of the year. Rough well... it's cut to the same height as the fairway so not really penalizing. Pace of play as I said was 3 1/2 hours and this was a leisurely 3 hours. No one was behind us. There was a foursome ahead but we kept a respectful distance since they were keeping pace.

I enjoy the greens here. They roll true and quick. They take care of the course and it shows. Not a lot of divots on the greens and it's all well maintained. Hats off to the staff. Now the important thing is would I recommend playing here. The short answer yes. You get to practice your short game as well as your mid irons. If you want to bang the big stick well this isn't the place for you.

Got in an early morning round today. Didn't have a tee time but had no problem getting on as a twosome and joined by a single on the first tee. Got around in 2:40 so that was awesome!

Tees- Good coverage and mostly level. You can tell they rotate the tee markers frequently.
Fairways- Pretty good coverage with a few thin areas but nothing that really affects play.
Rough- A mixed bag of lush, thin, bare, and patchy as is the norm here
Greens- Fantastic and rolling true and quick. #1 had some work done recently but all others were great. Hint: all greens here slope back to front. Stay below the hole! Hole high is no bueno unless you like sidehill, downhill putts with over a foot of break.
Bunkers- Good shape with actual sand in them
Misc- Great place to work on the short game and get in some walking. Will be back again

Decided to squeeze in some golf with the old man on 2/22/13 and since Westchester has lights, we decided to head on over.

Greens were in very good condition. The rolled very smooth and true. Some damage on #16 and #17, but overall very pleasant to putt on. Due to the fog that had rolled in during the evening, they ran medium-slow, but that didn't affect their puttability.

Fairways were surprisingly in good condition. Nice, even grass coverage. Above average for this time of year. Some areas had lots of divot damage. I would attribute this to the amount of walkers. They should give each twosome of walkers a divot mix container for a few buck deposit. Return the container at the end of the round to get your deposit back.

Rough was the worst part of the course. Clumpy, uneven, varying length and types of grass. Very frustrating.

Tee boxes were also in below average condition. Perhaps they were worse because we played later in the day. You could tell management was trying to rotate tee positions. Unfortunately, the tees were nearly hardpan. Really difficult to even get a tee in the ground. Also severe divot damage.

Sand was in good condition. Fluffy layer on top with some harder sand beneath. RAKE YOUR FOOTPRINTS, PEOPLE!!

Pace of play was good. People were moving really well. Customer service also receives an A++ from me. The starter (Bobby? Billy?) was really nice. He mentioned that a group of about 20 college kids were on the first tee. On his own, he went out and watched the ninth green since he remembered some people telling him that they only planned to play 9. When he saw a twosome heading to the parking lot after putting out, he let us take their place on the 10th to avoid waiting forever.

$11 to walk super twilight, with the lights. A really pleasant course to knock the ball around and work on some shorter irons. Also, a huge driving range open until 10pm. Very affordable rates on balls and a plethora of targets to hit at.
