The course is under construction so give it a break. The course has always been good. It is a fun Nicklaus course. It is what it is. Go with a coupon. Best deal in the OC on the weekend at $29. Take it for what its worth. The course is in good shape except for the construction. Have fun life is short.

I've played the course a half a dozen times or so in the past six months. Sure, the course is a bit confusing with the construction, and you need to play a few holes twice, but it's not that bad. The construction is only along a few holes, and there's not that much noise. Aside from those few holes it's quiet and like any other golf course. The course has been in pretty good shape, but they always keep the fairway grass short so you get a lot of tight lies (if you're in the fairway, but that's another story). And you can't beat the price. I'll keep playing it until they finish the construction and jack the price way up.

This is not a golf course but a disaster area!! DO NOT PLAY HERE, unless you want to throw away $59.00, (or more) the place is a mess, construction and dirt all over the place, there is no driving range, the fairways are in horrible shape, the greens have more dimples than my golf balls, there was no indication of the condition of the course when I checked their website so I went by the rating posted here and let me tell you the score that this place deserves is a ONE!

Is this golf course or cement...this is the worst golf course in orange county...my club bounce and can't get underneath the ball because the ground is f%@k in hard...! Browns spots from hole 1 thru 18 ...play the same holes...due to constructions....I never want to play here again...even somebody pay me for this green fee...doesn't worth the time spent....All the previous review for this golf course are weigh...OVER RATED....!!!

This was my home course back when it was 27 holes. I always played from the back tees and this course will challenge you. The greens have many undulations and the designer, Jack Nicklaus, just loves collection areas and false fronts on greens. The current 4-14 layout, where you play the first 4 holes and then play them again as 15-18 does reduce the overall satisfaction that the course offered, but you can usually get out for $35-$55 week days most of the time, so it is some compensation. Expect some dust from the constuction but it is not bad and only on the early and repeated holes. Greens are usually in good condition and medium fast, but can be tricky. The sand traps are like the lottery, some times sand, some times clay lightly covered with sand. I am sorry to see that the contruction has lost some of the best view holes, but it is still a great course and hopefully the new holes will continue to make this one of the best layouts in SoCal. If you haven't played it, you should and likely it will be one of your most enjoyable rounds.

Renovation is extensive. But if you can use a discount it is not a bad idea. Yeah, it's mickey mouse with 4 holes to repeat and some tee boxes are moved up, but the layout is great and the course is in good shape other than the inconsiderates who do not fix their ball marks on the bent grass greens. Overall, it's a tough call for a round of serious golf ... but to have fun on a nice track with no frills (did I mention no practice areas, too) and uncrowded conditions, it's worth a look.

As my local course I have always enjoyed playing at Aliso Viejo, even in spite of the reduction of the course from a 27 hole layout to an 18 hole layout. The course conditions are always pretty good, the course is challenging, and the staff is great. I do have to say however that this new 14 hole layout is going to test my loyalty as well as that of many golfers. The two times I have played under this new temporary layout (the plan is to reconfigure the course and get it back to 18, while the constrution of new housing in the area takes place), the going has been grim. Play has been slow and people have not been cool about it. Unless you have the PDP deal going, you are going to probably be annoyed by paying good money to play this track. I will continue to take advantage of my PDP deal and support my local golf course, but I will also be playing El Toro, San Clemente and San Juan Hills quite a bit more than I had in the past.
