2nd - Customer service in the Pro Shop - Thumbs Down. Guy at register was more concerned with the call on his cell phone, than the customer that is standing in front of him. Shurgs me off, while blurbing in-coherent words to his cell phone. I'd rather him just finish what he was doing, then tend to the customers. The Cafe personnel were friendly. The starter.... eh...

All in all, I would probably wait for the construction to finish (or at least clean up the one hole that has a BIG patch blocked off for construction in the middle of the FAIRWAY - you either have to drive past it or lay up before it). I MAY consider going before then if the rates drop.

First time to play this course, before any of the drastic changes they'll be doing because of construction. It's too bad that they're reconfiguring this couse; it has a nice mature layout even if has only been there a few years. Greens are very tricky though with all its undulation & speed, but it's a good challenge.

Played here for the first time on Sunday in a golf tournament. Course was in very good condition and the greens were nice--not too fast but plenty of break and undulations. Very hilly course with multiple elevated tee shots. Several blind shots and false fronts. Lots of slopes to funnel the ball to one side or another and several that direct the ball into the water. #8 and #9 are good holes. Was told they will be removing four holes after Memorial Day--you'll play 14 holes and replay 4 holes to make it 18--and the rate will drop drastically as a result until they get the four replacement holes completed.

WOW is all I can say. Nice course for a Friday and with the coupon not a bad deal with a cart. Uncrowded. We kept up with the twosome ahead and the foursome behind us, we rarely saw. Great course,... Continue »

WOW is all I can say. Nice course for a Friday and with the coupon not a bad deal with a cart. Uncrowded. We kept up with the twosome ahead and the foursome behind us, we rarely saw. Great course, greens were really rolling true. Some false fronts were a pain but overall the greens were in great shape notwithstanding the Poa growing. I noticed they were watering some of the fairways and it was damp but not so much as to prevent roll. Some courses make you tee off or use all the clubs in your bag, I would categorize this course as one of them. Overall I was impressed and would be back. Personally from some of the negative comments I was fullying expecting a rip off but was pleasently suprised that was not my experience.

Haven't played Aliso since they cut it down to 18 holes. But..........if you are going to pay a full rate at this course, you are going to get completely ripped off. This course is so ridiculously overpriced it's sad! Even when they had 27 holes it was not even close to worth what they charge. If you don't believe me and have to play it to find out the hard way, sign up for their email offers at their homepage and at least you won't get completely raped on green fees.

If you are going to play in that area of OC, you are much better off going to San Juan Hills, Talega, or even San Clemente Municipal.

Condo construction has taken over. The 3 - 9s are now down to a patchwork of an 18 hole course. The driving range is gone. There was nothing to replace it yesterday. The pro shop said there is no plan to build another range. The best they will do is put in nets. It's still a good course; elevation changes, water on several holes, very little tree problems. Played the blue tees: some of the par 4s have been shortened. The 132 slope rating seems high. The greens are large, & roll fast. GPS on the carts would help a lot on some tee shots with forced carries over hazards. One wonders if the green fee will be reduced, esp. w/ no driving range to warm up. Still, an enjoyable round, great views of Saddleback & surrounding area.
