I played her on Tuesday afternoon, 11/19. The greens are still healing, and I appreciate the $15 discount. Most of the greens have some damage, with some a lot more than others. If I landed on the green in a spot in which I'd have to hit through a badly damaged part of the green I simply moved my ball. As mentioned in another review, the greens were a little long and slow, and it was difficult to judge how hard to hit it. The rest of the course was in good shape, although the fairways are starting to go dormant, and all the lies are tight, like hitting off cement. I'd rather hit out of the rough, which has a little bit more loft. I chunked more than one easy chip from the fairway. I don't recall seeing a marshal. POP was OK, with a slowdown at the first par 3. Overall a good day. If you can handle the damage on the greens, the discount makes it fairly priced.

I had read the reviews concerning the greens and their condition, and even when I called, I was warned by the pro shop that the greens had issues. (They reduce the fees as a gesture to compensate) I respect the course for being honest about this situation.

The greens are trying to come back, but being bent grass, they are slow to grow and will take some more time to return to even a decent surface. There are many areas which are bare or very thin. Additionally, they are not cutting the greens very low to help them recover, which made them so slow, it was very difficult to keep the ball on line given how hard I had to hit the ball. (Maybe after they are cut, they might be a bit faster, but I played first off and they were still very wet and some not yet cut.

The staff was great. Otherwise conditions are pretty good, Typical tight fairways, which make for some challenging shots around the greens. Plus the ball did not seem to "roll out" on the fairways as in times past, which made the course play much longer than it usually does.

Played Arroyo this morning. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. The greens are hurting. Looks like a fungus on many greens. Cracking and TONS of seed/sand all over them. They are in horrible shape. However the rest of the course is in great shape.

Warning ! They are having a lot issues with their greens due to the heat. They are working on it, but the greens are not good right now. Lots of bare spots and bumpy areas. Otherwise the course has handled the recent heat fairly well.

Staff is always great here and very accommodating. Fun course, but too bad about the greens, however I suspect they will have them back to normal shortly.

I really like this course. The layout is challenging but playable from any tee, the service is customer service, is awesome, and the fairways offer some roll. HOWEVER, they have to do something with the greens. They are pockmarked, bumpy and really SLOW. Their condition and playablility just doesn't match up with the rest of the course. I've been playing here since they opened and the greens constanty disappoint. If they were rolled, repaired, and true, this would be a premier golf course.

It has been several months since I last played here and I expected, being in the middle of the summer, the fairways, which are generally dry and thin anyway, to be burnt out. To my surprise they were not, in fact they had as much grass on them as I have ever seen. (Still very tight, as is typical here) Looks like they have been dumping lots of water on the course as it was much greener than in the past.

Staff was as usual - very nice - helpful. First off, so pace of play not an issue.

Played here today (12 July 12), the course was empty, later I found out why. Every green on the course has some sort of funky disease, these greens are usually near perfect, fast and healthy. Today it was far from that, every part of every green had areas where cracks of dirt were visible and the surface was slow and rough. We were told the damage was from heavy play, there is no way that is the cause of the damage, their greens are in trouble. I would give this place a month before I played it again, usually I am a big fan or Arroyo, but I plan to skip it for at least a month.

Played AT at twilight last week. It got a little slow on the back, but not too bad. Probably finished about on time. Course was in very good shape, and the marshal was making the rounds. Service in the bar afterward stunk. Got seated outside and waited over 5 minutes and nobody came by, so we left. Twilight rate of $57 is a fair price. Talega and Tijeras Creek are of about the same quality and a little less expensive, but it's nice to have variety. The fact that this one has no houses on the course is a real plus, and its generally really quiet back in the hills.

Arroyo is playing great right now! Played 5/9/12 @ 1p and it was such a beautiful day! Tee boxes were almost perfect, some uneven but not too bad. Fairways had really tight lies with different kinds grass growing. Rough nonexistent and hard to differentiate where fairway & the rough started. Bunkers really fluffy & sand was excellent. Greens were almost great, it's just that people don't repair their ball marks! Greens were rolling true and have a lot of speed & break to them. Pace of play was great, Marshall was constantly monitoring pace throughout the day and did a great job- not like other courses were they just ride around & talk. Overall a great place to play. I enjoy coming down every time, just wish I lived closer.
