Played here for the second time since opening week. Fairways are visibly thinner on grass now, with more bare spots. The course is a good value for the money, though I hope they restrict carts on some fairways soon so the grass has a chance to establish itself. Greens are showing more ball marks, but they still putt quick and true. They have ball washers now too, which is nice. We played in 4.5 hours, on a Thursday morning, about a half hour faster than last time, though as a single I waited two hours to get on, in spite of the fact there was only one other person on the list in front of me. If you don't have a tee time I would recommend going elsewhere. It's too bad they don't leave any open times for walk ons.

Very neat golf course.

Try this golf course out without paying excessively, no regrets at all.

Played on 8/4/04. The course was in excellent condition for a new course. The fairways are much wider than they sometimes look, but if you miss them you are in environmentally sensitive areas that require a one stroke penalty. Some of these areas were just dirt, so I don't understand it. There are quite a few elevated tees and the fairways roll pretty well, so the course plays a little shorter than its yardage would indicate. Many greens are very large and the day we played they were being sanded or fertilized. The putts still rolled true, but some were slightly slower than expected. There's a nice cool breeze and it's refreshing to play without houses all around. This course is definitely worth the money. Probably the best value in Orange county next to Costa Mesa Public Golf Course.

First time I've played the course and I have to admit that it was much better than I expected. (I didn't believe the reviews) When you look at the course from Crown Valley, it does not look very impressive, but this is a nice course! Very fair, very playable, and what you see it what you get. No tricks. Tough 3 pars! Condition was great considering this course is brand new. I just hope they don't begin the raise the green fees to match the neighboring courses.

Nice course. Very scenic. No two holes alike. Good customer service. Nice bar. Great setting. A couple negatives. These greens will hold no shots. Bump and run is the way to go. Fairways are immaculate, but a little thin and brown. If they wanted to make this course really tough, they'd let the rough grow. Right now you can't tell the difference between the fairway and the rough. Wind definitely affects play, specifically on the back nine. Some signs of ball mark damage on many greens. FIX YOUR MARKS!

The pleasant surroundings of this new course make for an enjoyable but competitive golf course. The feeling of being alone with nature adds to the fun of this course. The course is in very good shape. The putting greens and the driving range are well maintained. The employees are very cordial and help to make the golf experience very enjoyable. Maybe they can extend the senior rates to include Fridays.

I just ran a tournament here on Sat. 7-17. What a beautiful course and surroundings to spend a day.
On the golf side, plenty of people to take care of you from the moment you arrive, with very friendly attitudes. They tried to help in all ways to make sure our event was a success...which it was. Nice restaraunt and bar....but service was quite slow in the morning, so allow some extra time for breakfast.
The course itself was full of personality, beutiful scenes and challenging situations. Loved the layout!!
We had players with single digit indexes to 30 somethings....all had a great experience. The back nine is definately a harder play when the winds are blowing. Greens putt very true, but getting approach shots to stick was not easy....best to land short and let it run up to the pin.
I had read about there being no ball washers....get over it and bring a towel. I did have two complaints...it seemed that every trap resembled the La Brea Tar Pits, it should be sand not mud. Second, what happened to cart girls knowing when to drive up to you and when to wait. Beautiful and very friendly, but too many times they would drive right up to someone addressig the ball or even swinging. The course really does need a snack bar out at the turn, since you don't return near the clubhouse until the 17th hole.
All in all, go play this course, and soon. This will be a popular track in th O.C. until the Donovan Brothers over price it like they have the other courses they manage.
