Played BG on Tuesday after Memorial Day. Was a slow afternoon, was sent to the tee early, and went off on my own at 2:12pm. Eventually, invited two friendly guys to join me on the 14th tee, one of whom is a GKer I played a few holes with here, ironically, near exactly a year ago...see you next year, jjrauen! POP overall was just 3.5hrs.

Fairways and greens were lush and green and the best part of the course. Never had a bad lie in the fairways and got decent roll for the most part. Greens were firm, very, very smooth putting and looked fantastic. Pace was good, just about medium speed, but not slow.

Tees were very good, plenty of coverage and mostly level, but did not appear to be cut in the morning. Visited 4 traps, each had good sand and decent lies, but each had evidence of multiple un-raked prior visits, marring their sanctity.

Course continues to be in very playable condition - highly recommend right now. Which, btw, they have proudly displayed a GK award that says just that... in the lobby near the pro shop!

Played Friday, 5/17 as a foursome. Teed off around 10 and finished in just under 4.5 hours. Course is in very nice shape. Greens were a bit slower than normal (per my playing partners), but pretty consistent from green to green. Good coverage in fairways. The few bunkers I was in were well maintained. The rough in some spots was pretty thick, other spots not so much. Some holes are pretty tight, and course knowledge certainly helps here. Not overly long, but several tee shots make you think. Staff was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Played BG today at 2:32pm, $44 rate via their website. Teed off with 3 other guys, losing one to a hand injury just a few holes in. POP was very good being so late in the day - 4hrs 15mins, a nice pace, just a few short waits on some tees, but never really pressing the lady 3some in front of us. We barely kept up, and the group behind were likewise, slightly behind our pace at the end.

About a month since punching the greens, they looked great, and putted mostly smooth at medium-fast pace and held shots very well. Seems like they've been rolled and are almost 100% healed - barely an issue for putting results.

Tees were thin in spots. Fairways and rough are mostly good, with very good lies in the fairways, and providing pretty good roll. Holes 2, 3, 6, 12, 13, 15 and 17 were either full or substantial CPO, a bit more than normal. Was in a few bunkers, and they were decent - my skills were not.

Staff, as always, were all very friendly from initial greeting in the pro-shop, to the starter, cart lady and end-of-round cart lads. Top-notch and add value to the experience here. Burgers smelled great from the 18th fairway! Lovely day, hope to return very soon.

Played this AM in a nice POP of 3 H. Easy check in (thank you Sergio) and customer service excellent at all levels (great food in Derricks). Greens aerated 3/18 & 19 but were in good shape all round, though a bit slow (speed increased - skosh- as it warmed up). All tee boxes just fine. No issues with any fairways, though they did have some CPO? Traps were all playable, though a few seemed like the sand needed to be loosened up? Fairways were all playable, with good roll and lies. Wind began picking up as we finished and this is not a course I like to play in the wind. I would certainly be willing to bet, greens will only get better over the next week to 10 days.

Played today as this is one of my favorite courses. We try to play here when there is Greenskeeper special. The course aerated the greens about three weeks ago and the greens are recovering nicely. The holes are still slightly visible. The front nine was better than the back nine. Sand still visible but not prevalent. Greens slightly bumpy but rolled fast. Rest of the course was in beautiful condition. Unfortunately the range did not open till 8am and that did not give us time to warm-up. Staff is always friendly. POP was under 4 hours.

We played here today teeing it up at 7:30 and finishing at 11:30. With many courses aerating now I saw on GK that they were starting today. Called ahead and was told that the punching was starting at noon so jumped at the $55 senior rate and loved every minute of golf today. The greens were pure! Just rolled perfect with no bumps and running semi fast. Everything here is in great shape right now however the bunkers do need sand. It's kind of a bummer that I am giving this course such high marks knowing that by tomorrow it will be full of holes. Oh well, today was a great day and look forward to heading back in a couple weeks after they heal.

Played Friday, 3/8 at 1:07pm, paired with two nice guys. Easy, friendly check-in at pro shop and with the starter. They had a large shot-gun tournament that was ending, so lots of activity and heavy play. POP was pretty good, with even a 15-minute back-up/delay at the turn, we finished just under 4.5hrs in warmer weather than we started (less windy).

My 2nd time playing since my last review, and the course has been getting progressively softer with the rains. Yesterday, the tees provided good footing, but the fairways and rough were extremely soft, where you would often 'sink' into the turf when taking your stance.

Course seemed to be at full saturation point in many spots, and drew casual water 4 times in the fairways and rough. Otherwise, course has handled the rains well and with a few days of sun in the forecast, should be in very good condition later next week, providing a small window of drier conditions before they aerate the greens on the 18/19th.

Bunker sand was generally OK, a few were muddy. Biggest issue were all of the un-raked footprints in EVERY one of them!

Greens - super lush, held shots well, and putted at medium to medium-fast pace. Thought they were in fantastic condition, especially considering all of they play they received on the day.

Played on a Sunday afternoon as a single. Service in the pro shop was great. The course seems to have drained well from all the rain we have received. Greens were smooth with little-to-no unrepaired ball marks. The greens ran slower than usual due to the rain the day before. Fairways were damp but had good coverage. The length of the rough was not much of a factor but provided good coverage. The one bunker I found myself had some standing water in it due to the rain.

Played Tuesday, 2/19, teeing off about 12:20pm as a 4some. POP 4:45, waiting on the two groups in front at times. Friendly staff, as always. We had some issue with two 3somes in front when they would 'join up' as a 6some at times (8th/9th holes, 11th hole). Marshall came by as we were approaching the green on 11, and though he said they shouldn't do that (he was very famiiar with them, telling me they play BG all the time), he wasn't too bothered by this news when I told him. Sensing we were going to be dealing with that the rest of the way, I took the liberty to suggest that it was his job to stop them from doing that, and keep POP up. :D Guess he took it to heart, as he did circle back and likely said something to them. Starting on the 14th hole, they stopped that nonsense. Despite the recent rains, the course remains in pretty darn good condition, not much different from my visit at the end of Jan. Biggest differences were the teeboxes are washed out a bit, thinner and grayer, and bunkers were certainly damp. Fairways were nicely cut, lush, and still provided decent roll. Slight water damage around the edges here and there, and a few extra parts of fairways were roped off, including all of #12 and #15, which tends to be CPO often. Rough wasn't onerous, but long in a few areas where I guess they hadn't cut in a few days. Greens were lovely and rolled very smooth, at a medium-fast pace. Cart girl came by often and added cheer on a lovely, sunny taco tuesday. With the Yorba Linda City Championship coming up in March, I'd expect the course to continue to be in very good/great condition in the coming weeks.
