Got out today at 9:40, $15.75 booked through course's website. The round lasted just over 3 hours, pace was great. The greens were tough to figure out...most were very quick so stay below the hole. Not many ball marks, nice to see. The bunkers were great, nice and fluffy but not too soft. Great for high explosion shots. Fairways were in winter condition, a little soggy but playable. Same with the rough. Tee boxes were decent and level. This course is a nice mix of short par 4s and par 3s of very short to pretty long lengths. The 18th is a bear, played 215 today into the wind. Good short course, perfect for working on your game.

Since it had been a while since I played here, and looked like rain, I thought this would be a good choice. (Easy, quick & cheap) The greens were very nice - reasonable speed, except for the uncut greens (I was ahead of maintenance at times) Fairways - not so good, but about what I expected. Same with the rough. Sand was however also very nice.

Fun little track with some interesting holes. Good for the iron and short game. Less than 2 hours and done, cheap (under $20) and close to home. Plus .... it's golf!

This is where I have played the most this summer. it is easy to get a tee time on the weekends, inexpensive (especially with Golf Zing) and fun for the money. Nothing is overly long, but there are challenging holes. Only my longest hitting friend can reach everything, and that is only when he swings for the fences.

With me, as I get a bit longer with my driver (250 or so), it is nice to have to think about what I need to hit off the tee on the few (non par-3) holes within reach. The Par 3s are no 100 year gimmies either, well not all of them.

Summer has, however, taken a toll. There is a lot more dead grass and bare spots here than earlier in the summer. Not so much that it isn't worth the fees, but it is showing wear. Beyond that, it is a Par 60 course, so work on your mid and short irons, keep out of the traps, and have a pleasant round. I'll be back.

Fun course, a little longer that the typical Par 3 course, with some Par 3s in the 180+ range and most of them around 150 or longer. Not a lot of water in play, but there are a few well placed traps that will hold the errant shot. The Par 4s are not over long, but that just makes it fun to reach in 2, which most everyone can if they can hit is straight. The tee boxes are grass, which is another real plus for a Par 3. They move the lines often enough that the damage is not too bad.

The fairways are a tad thin with a few bare spots, but you can't expect Tustin Ranch. Overall, the course is in good shape even if it is not PGA quality, the staff is friendly, and the price is right.

I played here yesterday at 11 am. Done in 3 hours. The greens are in good shape for this place. It is a very good place to work on your game. You seem to hit every club in the bag.

Played Saturday 4/9 at 2:30. Course was empty, probably due to the Masters being on...got around in just under three and a half hours. This was my first time here, and I have to say it is the best-designed executive track in OC in my opinion. Great routing and some truly beautiful scenery on a few select holes. Condition-wise though it left a lot to be desired. Definitely still in winter shape. Patchy fairways, inconsistent rough, slow, shaggy greens. The greens were also rock-hard and didn't hold shots well. Bunkers were actually in good condition with plenty of soft sand. All the employees except the cart attendant had left by the end of the round, the clubhouse and restaurant were closed and even the bathrooms were locked. Not good. We asked the cart attendant about it and he said he had no control over it, American Golf manages the course and they wanted everyone out and the place locked up early. Strange because there were still people teeing off on 10 when we were finished! I'd love to play this course again if and when the conditions get a bit better, but I think I will begin my official American Golf boycott right...about...NOW.

You get what you pay for. Got an $11 walking rate from Golfnow.com for a round on 1/14/10 and decided to play to shake the rust off my game. The fairway on the first hole is pretty muddy and on the second hole they actually had a guy with some kind of blower trying to get rid of the standing water.. while we were trying to hit! I'm glad I didn't hit him. The rest of the course was fairly similar, lots of dead fairways but decent greens. Still the cheapest 18 holes in south OC.

Got an $11 walking rate on GolfNow.com for late this (Sunday) afternoon. That's about the only price I could justify out here. The greens are much nicer than I've ever seen them, but that's the best thing that can be said about the course conditions. There's very little consistency in conditions elsewhere on the course, and being a track with lots of novice traffic, even the greens are often pock-marked with an abundance of ball marks. Pace of play was surprisingly consistent for a late Sunday afternoon. We teed off at around 4:10 and finished 16 holes with no major waits on any tees or fairways. Probably could've played 17 but no way we would've finished 18, so we walked in. I was in a bunch of bunkers and they were are all very hard, many with a few scattered rocks in them as well. Then to add insult to injury, no one seems to know why there are rakes outside of each bunker. The bunkers were filled with footprints.

All that said, the $11 rate was worth it and I had a good time. Rates for play earlier in the day seem exorbitant, however.
