Played Saturday. Greens were perhaps the best I have seen in quite a while. Course played SLOW at first but after first 9 and giving the group ahead some breathing room we started to move at a pretty good pace. Finished in 4 hours. Not bad for this busy course. Sand traps were terrible. More like an inch or two of sand covering hard pan. Not good if you're trying to throw the ball up. Fairways were pretty good considering grass is dormant. Tee boxes were not always flat but you can deal with it. More of a bowl shape with the middle being the highest point. Greens however rolled pretty true. No bouncing 4x4 balls needed here boys! Now if only I can get my driver to work I could have made easy work of the course.

The course was in great shape. Played in under 5 hours on a Saturday. Costa Mesa dose a fantastic job on their conditions.

Played first thing Monday. cold!! 38 degrees and yes there was frost but they alowed play??? (greens were being watered so no they were not frosted) However cleaning the ice off the spikes so you wouldn't slip on every shot is a pain in the a... I thought the course was in really nice shape. Greens kinda quick and fairway, while "crispy" due to the frost, were very good. This is a great little course to play when time is precious and you want to work on your wedges.

Played Saturday 7/15 1:00pm. Customer Service was extremely poor......like the previous feedback stated, the guys are just there to take your money. No personality what so ever!! Kind of weird....we had to pay the starter and then walk 10 feet away to another register to purchase a cart, like they are two seperate businesses. There we were informed that they didn't have any more carts, which at that time the starter was on us about teeing off. The guy selling carts couldn't tell us when more carts would be ready so he basically just told us we had to walk. By the way, they let off two fivesomes in front of us with carts....my group (a threesome) and then a twosome behind us with a cart (Go figure). The course was in pretty good shape, decent layout with the greens rolling pretty true (good speeds). The par 3's were really weak. I think there is only one that is over 130 yards....from the blues! Pace of play was pretty good except for the last 4 holes. I think it took over an hr and 1/2 to play the last 4.

With the treatment of the pro shop, I don't think it is worth ever coming back to this place. It's a decent course, but you can play a dozen other courses within 10 miles and get treated better.

Played 6/16 - Pro shop still has the "I'm here to take your money - just get yourself to the tee" attitude. I thought it was because it was twilight hours the last time I played, but it was still the same thing late morning.
Had a really great pace of play - it started to bottleneck at the 11th hole.
A foot off from making a hole in one on the 10th from the back! That was probably the highlight of my day.
Greens were soft at times, but had good speed on the roll. Fairways were in good condition. The roughs were pretty lush throughout the course.
Although the service at the pro-shop needs a better smile, I'd still come back for the course.

A short course (5500 yards) with a lot of bunkering and greens with there own unique shape and slope. The elevated, well bunkered greens make this course more fun to play. Everything is in decent shape, not too bad, but not immaculate. I will play here more than once every 15 years from now on. If you don't like the 5+ hours rounds on Los Lagos, Mesa Linda is a good alternative.
