Got out on the Destroyer for another twilight round. Cutting the greens a bit shorter so they were faster and required all your attention. Walked in just over 4 hours on a Monday ... great POP for an afternoon. Some thin fairway areas but mostly good lies. Easy to get on, price is $29 to walk. Recommended for a challenging round before the days start getting shorter.

Got in an afternoon round at the Navy Course on 7/5, $29 to walk this level course. POP was a decent 4.5 hrs. Conditions of the greens was very good, medium speed, some bumps here and there as you'd expect in the afternoon. Hardly any unrepaired ball marks today. Some thin areas in the fairways and rough, just a matter of some bad luck could give you a challenging shot. Wind always a factor in the PM, too. Easy to get on, good bargain for twilight golf which is about the only time I play here.

Played Navy (Destroyer) for the first time ever on Tuesday afternoon, 6/19/2012. Had heard good things about the course over the years, so met GKer bsparks1961 and we had a very relaxed and enjoyable round. Wind in the afternoon here is a factor on every shot. We unexpectedly found the course in very good condition - we were impressed with the greens (looked great, rolled at medium speed, held shots, very few ballmarks). Good lies in the fairways, sand fluffy but good in one bunker, tee boxes generally good. Rough around the greens was pretty thick. Tee on #11 was not level and showed a lot of ballmarks.

No drink cart, but a snack shack after #7 and #11. Pace was Ok but we were behind a foursome playing from the wrong tees. Cart had a small GPS unit showing basic information. Recommended.

Played here for the first time on an early twilight rate on Saturday. The course is in decent shape, not bad for a public course, but not as nice as some of the better munis. There were a few damaged areas on the green that could have affected puts, but I was away from them for the most part.

The course is very tough, with a lot of break in the greens and a lot of water in play. Shot placement on your approach is very important, because long downhill puts into a pin on the edge of the green are never a lot of fun.

For walkers, the course is pretty level. For a rider, they have a very nice GPS system in the carts, something I was not expecting at this price. The curse is one big loop, so there is no break at the turn, but there are 2 snack shops set up. Only one was open for us, and they are cash only, so be prepared.

Played @ 7:38 this morning. Course was not very crowded today. Finished in 4 hours. Greens in fantastic shape, running @ 9. Wind was not that strong today. Played from the blue tees for the 1st time today. Challenging from blues! Rough and fairways were in good condition with dry patches and thin in some areas. Many water hazards on this course...so be aware.. Sand trap were semi-fluffy and good condition. The smell of manicure and the noisy surroundings were distracting. Overall, happy with conditions and will return.

Played twilight, 5/31, in 4:40 walking with some waiting on the front 9 (2.5 hr) but the back opened up. $26 walking rate. Greens still cut a bit long but the guys in the shop said they'll cut them down in another week (pleeze!) ... not rolling true, it made putting difficult. A few unrepaired ball marks and some unraked bunkers (that's twilight golf) ... the fairways are mostly in good condition and the rough played long and challenging. Can get the afternoon breeze, gotta use course mgmt here. This course has some bite to it and can be a good test from the back tees.

Course in great shape. greens were a little spongy, needed a mow. Fairways, rough in good shape. Fixed three ball marks per green. Wind was swirling all day long. The course is no longer allowing 5 somes so pace of play will improve. We still played in 5 hrs for twilight. No cart guy in sight and snack shop at turn does not take credit cards! Bring cash. Greens ran a little slow around 8/9.
