Walked out Wednesday, afternoon rates (start at 2PM) are $26, good deal. We were put behind a walking foursome who were clueless on 'ready golf', so it took us just under 5 hours. Buttercup has it right on course conditions, greens need 1-2 more weeks. Otherwise, course is in good shape.

The greens have not recovered from aeration 3 weeks ago. The greens are bumpy and slow. Hopefully they will be smooth and medium fast (the norm) in a couple weeks. The fairways, tee boxes, and ruff are good. The bunkers are great. The greens are undulating and provide a good challenge. I really enjoy the layout of the course. It has a nice variety of straight, dogleg left, and dogleg right holes. My rating for the course will go up when the greens recover from aeration.

A buddy and I walked on Thursday 2PM twilight rates: $26 ... starter put us out immediately and we finished in 4.5 hrs walking ... blue markers were all the way back today. Fairways still winterized thin with lots of roll, the rough is a bit patchy but they're letting them grow out a bit, and greens slower than normal ... aeration coming 4/9 (thanks GK). Some unraked bunkers but, like Ring mentioned, they are in decent shape. Boy, it seems like your hitting into the wind on every hole until 12, and it was breezy conditions, and then you can really let loose. Lots of coots, use the air hose next to the 18th green to clean your shoes when you're done.

Played Twilight and still managed to get 18 holes in. Greens rolled pretty true. Looks like a little verti-cut and I noticed they will be punching soon so get it while the getting is good. As I said greens are in good shape. Fairways are thin but very playable. Rough is fluffy and inconsistent; it's what to be expected this time of the year. Tee boxes are relatively flat; some are uneven but still playable. Sand in bunkers well stocked.

I like this course. Loads of challenging holes with water it is a Navy course after all. Overall pace of play was quick. Carts have updated GPS. Staff very helpful. I will be coming back... before the aeration and after the greens have healed. Conditions should be fantastic then!

The layout of the course is good. Some holes are straight, some dogleg left, and others dogleg right. Short to long par 4s. Medium to long par 3s. Good length and challenge from whites or blues. The driving range is more often on grass than mats. Nice short game are at end of range with room to pitch or chip and has a practice bunker. There is an air hose next to the cart path by the 18th green. Nice for getting turf and koot "stuff" off the soles of your shoes.

The greens are in great condition and challenging. They run medium/fast and are quit undulating. The fairways and rough are winter conditions thin. The bunkers and tee boxes are good.

Played twilight yesterday at 12:45 pm. Greens were in great shape. Firm and medium speed. Probably a 7 or 8 on the imaginery stimp meter. Undulations and wind make them putt faster. Par is a good score on many of the holes here. The course plays tough enough from the whites already, esp the last 3 holes into the wind. People, fix your ball marks... Bunkers were in good shape; fairways and rough were thin. Short holes are well guarded by small greens or bunkering. Pace of play was great in the beginning, but then sloped down on the back nine. You should not be putting and analyzing putts as if you were betting $50/hole...after all ur d%mn green fee was $41 bucks! Twilight golf means..hurry your ass up. Will come back..I love the pain!

Walked on as a single Friday AM ... arrived at 7 and teed off at 7:20. Winter conditions here means some thin fairway lies, otherwise the course is well kept. Bunkers were soft and no foot prints, greens quick and true, tee boxes in good shape. Wind came up on the back nine and our group fell out of position by half a hole but still finished in 4:20 walking. Recommended for sure.

Pace of play horrible for a Monday holiday. Course was crowded. I suppose we all had the same idea of playing golf.

Conditions of the greens: balls rolled very true. Greens were very quick. Grass around greens thick. Fairways are a bit on the thin side but playable. Tee boxes show a lot of wear and tear. Sand in bunkers well stocked.

Played twilight at $29 to walk. Ended up playing only 15 holes before the sun decided not to cooperate and disappear beyond the horizon. Still the walk was not too bad but the front 9 did take us 3 hours to play. But if you are after conditions well, this course is in good to great shape.

Played yesterday at 6 30 with a whole new set of sticks. The pace of play was great, I got out as a single and finished at 9 30. The course is in good condition the tee boxes are level and lush, fairways are great, rough some patchy, greens rolled true and medium, probably would be fast in the afternoon.
I did not think i would shoot well with a new driver, iron set, wedges, and a new putter, but played decent. Almost had a hole in one on the par 3 9th hole. right in front of the maintenance guy. I didn't think he was paying attention, but he was watching and he was jumping up and down because it hit the hole and bounced out. It was a great day to play.
