Played Tues Aug 6th, had a 707 tee time and I live in norco so left the house at 430, 61 miles and 1hr 12 min later I got there. Restaurant opened at 6 check in was very friendly and fast. This is only the 2nd time I played here and it has been 9 months since the 1st time. I really wish it was closer as i like the course. Good tee boxes and fairways, wasn't in any bunkers, but greens were real nice. POP was good at 3:49, the course looked busy but everyone seemed to be moving. And truthfully it was nice to be in 70 degree weather for a change. The breeze came up a little on the bafk nine but was still very playable. Like I said I like this course and have to think about making the drive more often.

Played today for the first time at this course. The driving range is not that large so we had to wait for an empty stall. For a Muni course it is in good condition, from the fairways to the greens. The rough did have some bald spots. The greens were hard to read and ran slow-med even when putting downhill. Tip the greens break towards the ocean. There was one hole where 2 large branches had broken off a tree which unfortunately you had to play around.

The course does get windy so you have to club up or play with the direction of the wind as a factor. Staff was extremely friendly. POP was close to 4.5 hours

If you want to beat the heat (rarely over 85°!) and enjoy some ocean views......go play San Clemente Muni! Fairways, bunkers and tee boxes are average or slightly better? They do a good job keeping the greens in good shape! Fairly forgiving course with a few unforgiving holes mixed in! Tough to beat 80°, ocean views and nice greens for less than $50 (weekdays)!

First of a double dip this 4th of July weekend with Kassper7 as we headed down to the OC early to play a round at San Clemente. Check-in was easy and they even gave us free tokens for some range balls. The range is a bit underwhelming and small, but it's perfect to just loosen up the bones after a decent drive down south before heading to the first tee.

Rode the blue tees for something crazy like $37. What a steal. This course is in very nice shape right now overall, with the highlight being great greens. Do they look fantastic? Not really, but they play unbelievably well. Fast, smooth and receptive to approaches - superb.

Fairways are in very nice shape as well, and the rough is not too penal at all except in a few areas. Bunkers were fine and the tee boxes just a little beat up but nothing to complain about. Overall though, same type of optics around the course as the greens. It doesn't necessarily look like the best manicured course, but it certainly plays like one right now. Look, you're going to find a bare spot here or there just off the fairways, but again, for the price you're paying it's an absolute robbery.

One interesting thing about the layout that I can't recall at too many places is a couple of holes with absolutely no fencing or natural boundaries. The par 5 5th and 12th holes are simply wide open towards the parallel streets bordering them. It's almost off-putting for a minute while you get to the tee box and realize that there is literally NOTHING stopping your errant shot from going through a house. Fun!

Great day out though and really enjoyed San Clemente. Highly recommended at the moment.

Woke up at my normal time (4am) and checked the temperature at Coto (36 degrees and getting colder as we approach sunrise) The easy decision - off to San Clemente. Good decision as I got off in the second group. A much more pleasant 45 degrees according to the car ) Paired with three other seniors who rode ( I walked) Never waited for that first group out so it worked out perfectly. Decent pace at 3 hours 40 minutes. Greens were good, quick due to the cold conditions, and firm at times. Good coverage on the fairways, plenty of well raked sand in the bunkers. Some areas in the rough could use attention, but still playable. Nice to know that there is always at least one golf course that never has a frost delay.

Played Thurs dec 27th at 730. My OC friends drive all the way to sierra lakes so I agreed to drive all the way down there. I live in Norco. First time I ever played here, it was crowded. I had the burito for breakfast and there was enough food for 2 peopke. Check in was very friendly. There was a little wind and was cold. I liked the layout of the course, forgiving but there were some challenging holes and shots. Since this was my 1st time here, I had no clue on must shots. Course was in good shape, my friends told me all putts break towards the ocean and i learned that real quick. Putting down hill towards the ocean was very fast, putting up hill away from the ocean you needed to hit the ball. Over all i liked the course, just 61 miles away.

Out for a Sunday round at muni. Course was already a group behind when our tee time came up at 9:37am. This was literally the longest round of golf I have ever played. Im sorry but 6 hours is ridiculo... Continue »

Out for a Sunday round at muni. Course was already a group behind when our tee time came up at 9:37am. This was literally the longest round of golf I have ever played. Im sorry but 6 hours is ridiculous. I will not be playing sc muni on the weekend ever again. The tee times were stacked and there was no pace of play enforced at all. Disappointing for such a fun course to play.

Didn't feel like driving too far, so San Clemente fit the bill. Always able to get out here as the staff is very accommodating. As prior review indicated, greens are the highlight of the course right now. Also impressed with the fairways. I am not a fan of Kikuya, but wasn't too bad to play from.

The course just has nice park-like feeling about it, weather is always great here and holes are challenging without being overly difficult. Whenever I walk off this course, I understand why so many people like this place !
