Played yesterday 4/8 in windy conditions. POP was 3.5 hours. Would have been faster but course let the men's club out on the back 9 after 7 AM (??) before we made the turn. This course is now under Troon management and it is in better condition than the last time a played, for sure. Found the tee boxes clean/level; fairways were in very nice shape (though I did see some bare spots on a few holes) and provided great lies and roll out all round; sand traps were hard and crusty (?); greens were in excellent shape and running at 10; not much rough to speak of but plenty of water and large bunkers to avoid, throughout the course. Customer service excellent at all levels.

Played the whites (6158/70.0/127) today with my two neighbors using a teeoff deal at 8am Weather was good with a light breeze and some gusting to mid teens. POP was great at 3.5 hours. We saw nobody ahead of us and only one group behind for about 5 holes. Personnel at the course was good as usual, check in prompt, free range balls and told, go out whenever you are ready. Driving range is nice with grass stations, buckets of balls, well marked target baskets/greens, and bag stand. Practice putting green was punched a while back and still has the tire track burn marks.

Fairways were in nice shape for the most part. Where there was grass it was nice. There are many areas that appear burned out and/or salt damaged. Plenty of areas I would deem GUR and moving the ball to a decent grass spot occurred on occasion. Divot mix was on the carts and I ran out as they weren't filled completely.

Rough here ranges from bushes and hardpan, to pretty thick grass on the slopes. The slopes here don't generally feed back to the fairway as the grass is a bit too long. Some lies were very good and others nestle down, making it more penal.

The traps were a mixed bag. Some filled with decent sand others more hardpack. All the bunkers I was in were raked prior to our round which made playing fromt hem a bit more predictable. The greenside traps were OK, nice to hit shots from. There weren't many if any unraked footprints, so that was a nice change of pace for this tract. Fairway bunkers looked OK.

The greens were still healing from the recent punching. Putts would make some strange turns and take big bounces along it's line. Breaks were tough to judge and speed was inconsistent throughout the round. Very slow to quick, never knew what was going to happen. Some of the greens still have the burn marks/striping in them from something on the mower tires. It's really bad on a couple of holes, almost like roundup was on them. Dead bare stripes of ground, no grass. The back nine appeared a bit better than the front, but still not entirely healed. Greens were great at accepting a good shot. In a week or two the greens should be recovered.

Carts had well stocked ice in the cooler. No on-course food/drink service. Frank at the cart barn is always a kick and knows one of my playing partners pretty well. Good guys.

If I can ever straighten out my POS swing with my POS driver, I'd enjoy playing more. LOL When in better shape the course is good and has a reasonable green fee through online services. Same as most of the courses right now, better greens would make the round a bunch better. We will definitely return to play again during the summer months.

Played today 6/12 with a buddy and a nice couple that live in the community at 9am this morning. Got a tee time through teeoff.com for under $20. Luckily the heat wasn't UP today! The course is in marginal shape all around. Apparently the current management group is on the way out and Troon is coming in around July. The course looks like it's been put on the back burner and the pot unwatched. Nothing about the course conditions I would classify as excellent and hard to find anything good. It was MEH!!! Greens... Are bumpy, burned out and rough. Barely any grass on the front nine and the back nine was marginally better. An exercise in ruining any sense of pace or speed that you may THINK you have. Many of them have what appears to be burned in stripes from something on the tires of mowers or support vehicles. The greens would be a challenge in good shape with the slopes, the rotten current condition makes them really tough. The fairway areas are hit and miss. Some areas are lush and green providing nice lies. A lot of fairways have a lot of GUR areas. The rough was decent and not too bad, it did create some issues regarding lie and what you could hit. Tee boxes were decent. For the price it was OK. If I had paid more for the round, I would have been disappointed.

Played Christmas day with a friend who lives there. The first shock we got was "sticker" shock (see their website for rates). As he had not been there recently he was not aware that new management of the course was in place and prices had gone way up (reflected in my rating). Course was in nice shape at all levels but again, for the price I paid, I should have gone to PGA West or Eagle Falls. Customer service (IMO) was less than sterling? Perhaps that was the reason the course was so empty? In any event, this course will be off my playing schedule when visiting PS.

A great place to play during summer...rates great...twilight at 1000am...we played in 3 hours...no one in our way! greens were running good...traps were many and inconsistant..some fluffy some hard and crusty. overall conditions were very nice and would definately put it on your play list if you are out in palm springs...only complaint would be ...would be nice to provide some wet towels in the cart to keep you cool while you play as some courses provide...do play here...very nice customer service by the pro shop and "marshall" that did get out there on the course!

Played 5-24-14. This is a very nice course. The conditions while not perfect come pretty close. The pace of play can be pretty slow though. Most of the golfers we encountered were residents and it seems that they take the attitude that there is no reason to hurry. I like a leisurely round of golf as much as anyone but standing around for 10 minutes waiting to tee off on every hole gets old fast. I like the layout though it is unusual with 2 par 5's in the first 3 holes and 2 par 3's in a row at 7 and 8. The back nine is very different from the front 9 making for a nice variety of holes. The back tees make for a very challenging course. I would play this course whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Played 3-9-14. Had a 2:45 tee time. We just managed to finish before dark but played in 4:05. Course is in really good shape. The greens are healed from the last time and were running fairly fast. Main negative were the sand traps. Sand was in good shape but they all seemed to be racked with very heavy tynes which caused large furrows in them. I had one shot go in a trap and end up sitting down in one of those furrows adding to the difficulty of getting out. Customer service was not as impressive as the last time either. I still would play this course again.

Played 12-30-13. Went out for one last round of the year. Had a 12 noon tee time but they were running behind so didn't get out till 12:15. The customer service here cannot be beat. Every employee was smiling and friendly and seemed genuinely focused on making sure you have a great experience.
The course is in good shape. some tee boxes were chewed up but the bunkers were in great shape. Sand was consistent whether a fairway or greenside bunker. Biggest disappointment were the greens. They looked like they had been verti-cut and had not come close to healing. They ran fairly fast but pretty bumpy. The greens here are very sloped and undulating making for some tough putting. Greens are small and well protected by traps so approach shots must be accurate and preferably high soft landing. Greens held well so you could be aggressive at going for the pin.
There was no cart out but at least they informed you of that before you started.They did not inform me that the greens were not in good shape though. Pace of play was terrible. It was so slow the starter came out to our group to tell us we should probably play the front 9 again or we would not finish before dark. With a noon tee time that should not have been an issue. As it was we decide we would rather play the front again than spend the rest of the day waiting. I had played here a few years ago and did not have a good image of the course but I enjoyed what I saw of it and would be willing to play here again except that the price seemed quite high compared with other courses near by.
