Played on Saturday morning and the course is in great shape for the summer. Greens are slow, but in great shape with no dead spots, which are common in the summer in the desert and the fairways and traps were in great shape. Well worth the money for this course right now and having played in the desert alot during the summer, not a lot of courses will come close to the condition this track is in right now.

If you can't get out of sand, you'll have a miserable time here. Typical pete dye course..you really need to study the layout before you pull out the big stick to bomb the ball.

The fairways/greens were all in great condition when I played early May. The staff was attentive from the bag pick up to the drive to #1. They even got us out an hour earlier.

The gps was great. Pace was under 4 hours and that's always a treat.

played today.. the course is in pretty decent shape.. the greens are completely healed from aeration. i was in 2 bunkers and both were okay, not great. the tee boxes were mostly decent, but there were a couple that were pretty crappy. the fairways are very nice, the rough isn't too punishing.
the course is a little longer than i remember.. from the tips i only had 2 wedges into greens on par 4s. there are only 2 par 5s, one of which is less than 500 yards.. the par 3s can be challenging here, they are well bunkered and some pretty long. there are a couple par 4s that are pretty long, and some that have some tough water hazards. Oh yeah, the greens are really slow too...
i'd recommend playing here if you're in the area. for 45 bucks i guess it was worth it.. don't forget to bring a washcloth or two, because the heat is no joke out here..

Teed off at 8am on 8/9/10. Considering the time of year, course in very good playing condition with the exception of greens. Greens are slow from recent aeration. First time playing palm spring area course during summer and it seemed ok as long as you're able to finish before noon. It probably got up to about low 90s when we finished so no big deal. Our round took less than 4 hrs. Our playing partner told us about the beauty of Silverrock, Shadow Ridge and Desert Willow so we'll try to get out there soon during this summer off-season in desert. For other first timers on this course, pls note that when you get there, you have to tell the valet person that you're there to play golf. They will send someone to pick u up from the main parking lot and take u to the club house. We didn't know so we had to search around a bit.

Finally played the Westin Pete Dye on a deal from EZ Links. Frankly, was disappointed in the overall shape and condition. Not very green or well kept. Greens were typically Dye with lots of undulations and slope. Some were a bit unfair. Bunkers had the heavy grey sand that reminds you of cement but playable. Overall I would rate this course averrage at best. No way would I pay premium rates.

The course itself was fun, challenging and in great condition. The greens were smooth and fast. Unfortunately, they had fivesomes in front of us which lead to a 5+ hour round. Totally brutal! For that reason alone, I doubt I'll ever play there again. I don't understand why there was no marshal to maintain a good pace of play. Totally sucked. There's also about a 1000 houses lining the course.

Played here today sunday the 16th, there are no signs of punching the greens. The greens were firm but somehow still held shots. Chip shots were checking up surprisingly and putts ran relatively true. the fairways were in great shape. The sand was all very playable. The rough isn't too bad at all. This course is very enjoyable and relaxing. The staff was pleasant. The scenery was nice. The range is all grass (unlimited balls) and included in the green fee. If you play august through september, the super twilight (2:00) green fee is 35 dollars. I'll be back here next time I'm in the area.
