Early morning tee time. Green fees were $25. Range fee $5. Maybe 6 stalls. Limited flight balls. Also practice green was present although we did not use it.

Check in was ok. Girl working there does not seem to enjoy her job and it shows. Starter was great as he was efficient and pleasant to talk to. Got us out early.

Course consist of 3 - 9 hole segments. North-South-West. Had time to play only 9 so played the West.

Course was not in good shape. I was expecting more from a resort course but there was a lot of bare areas fairway and rough. Also lots of standing water.

Carts did have GPS. There was a great clubhouse but it was not open and only available food was at the snack shack.

If staying at the resort, it is a good way to get some golf in but I would definitely look elsewhere if you want quality golf.

Finally got some free time to play a round of golf for the third time in as many months. Decided I would redeem a groupon certificate my wife bought me a few months ago for this course. Wasn't expecting too much in terms of conditions knowing this was about the time courses were reseeding amongst other maintenance in the area. For these reasons the north course was closed.
The pro shop was small, not an overabundance of equipment or supplies, but there did seem to be plenty of apparel with the country club logo for purchase. The snack shop was similar in that the menu wasn't too extensive, but sufficient.
Before hiting the course I spent a little time on the practice green and the range. The putting green was nearly identical to the greens on course. The range was irons only although there seemed to be plenty of area to accommodate driver practice. Range balls were included with green fees.
Played the blues today. Tee boxes were great, not an unlevel lie all day. Closely mown with no major divot damage, including the par 3 holes.
Fairways, like the tees, were closely mown with coverage throughout. Perhaps a little more tight than I'd prefer, but didn't come across even one hardpan area or GUR the entire round.
The rough wasn't too thick too often, although in some places you could easily lose your ball if you strayed too far off the fairway. I did land in one spot that could/should have been marked as GUR.
Bunkers were hit and miss. The first couple I landed in had nice fluffy sand that was easy to play out of. The few I landed in later in the round were a bit thin but playable.
The greens were very firm and small. Not only did I not create a divot to fix the entire round, but there were no others to fix. They also looked faster than they played, seemed to be around an 8, no more than a 9 on the stimp meter. Very smooth surface, putts held lines well, no severe contours or breaks.
Overall course was a bit dry, but very nice coverage throughout the course. The course was beautifully manicured, all edges trimmed, stakes precisely placed, with nothing seemingly out of place. The staff here are very polite and eager to assist. I had a great time and can't wait to return at a time when I'll get to see this course at peak conditions!

We played on Saturday Dec 12 with the South/North rotation. We had a 11:47 tee time, but the course had their regular shotgun tournament start one hour late due to a frost delay. Jay, the starter, did a fantastic job getting our foursome out close to our original tee time, and as a result, we were able to complete both courses before darkness fell.

The course conditions were excellent. A huge thumbs-up to their policy of included range balls and two great warmup areas.

Fairways were lush. Greens were flat and true. Rough was not too punitive. Our foursome had a very enjoyable day at RLP.

Course reminds me of Willowick in Santa Ana. You play from side to side of a flood control canal. Took a little getting used to especially when the sun was so bright. Could not see the flag stick on certain holes. Rule of thumb, follow the cart path to find the green. Greens are sanded. They roll ok but they were a little bumpy. Fairways were lush. Rough was thick and very sticky. Sand in bunkers (saw 4 of them) are hard packed. Pace of play as a single was an astounding 2 1/2 hours for 18 holes.

For the price which was included with the stay I would say the golf was worth it. Greens did roll relatively true aside from the occasional bumpiness.

Would I play here again? Sure but when the temperature was less than 101*F which as the case when I finished my round (around 11am).

Purchased an online discounted price for today 7/20 @ 8:00 a.m. via the courses website for ONLY $29.00 ea (incl cart/range use) and unlimited all day play on any combination of the three nines. Met up with fellow GKers (teagal (Kristie) and acesfull (John). The customer service here is FLAWLESS. Such a Pleasant Welcoming WONDERFUL experience from every single person working there. Even fellow golfers (residents) were simply a pleasure. So Nice! Felt as though we had the course allllllllll to ourselves. We had absolutely no one in front or behind us the entire day (18 Holes. We played West and North 9s), which resulted in the most enjoyable "Leisurely" round I think I've ever played. Weather was warm/balmy earlier in the day, little to No wind at all, and Knats in full force. As the wet fairways/etc. dried up a bit the dry heat kicked up a notch. Practice driving range is off of mats with 'short range' balls for warm-ups. You have the option of driving down the hill to an area with two practice stations in hitting your Driver off of grass. Putting greens in front of the Pro Shop were fairly large and in great shape. We were advised at the start that the course was opting to let things grow out a bit during the summer to keep it from all burning out. Hence, the tee boxes, rough, and greens were quite "Lush" (just a tidge on the shaggy side) but still very green/playable. Get off in the deep stuff and it was hard to find/hit your ball. Some areas down in the 'gully' (West & North tracks), could result in standing water or dry bare patches. Not much in the way of roll outs on this course. You had to hit to the green and with the firmness and length/cut of the greens, you could hit and bounce off the back or come up short and try your hand at getting your putt to the cup (a lot of 2 and 3 putts today). Overall they rolled quite true, but you really had to get it there. Didn't see any unrepaired ball marks; divots in the fairways were filled in; and bunkers raked. Bunkers were more of a shallow, damp, yet consistent condition throughout. This course (3 nines), was quite interesting to say the least. BEAUTIFUL array of Palm trees (and there were A LOT!!) and certainly no shortage of water hazards. This is a resort/private residential area, and as such - depending on which 9 you play, there are houses/condos galore skirting each side of the fairways. No cart girl this time of year, and the restaurant was on reduced hours of operation as well. However, the snack shop was conveniently located at the turn of all 3 nines. Cold water fountains throughout the course, and ice/water machines adjacent to the cart area. Pro shop fully stocked and professionally managed. Very eager to advise of course conditions, availability of services, and even that if you book a minimum of 2 days in advance via their online booking you can grab the rate of $29, versus the typical summer rate or $45...and did I mention that is unlimited as many times as you want to test the nines. (With at cart). Carts equipped with coolers, but no GPS. yardage markers run down the middle of the fairways. Bottom-line, you can't beat the price for this wonderful array of courses (with a Friendly/Welcoming resort atmosphere), and exceptional GK company. This is one course we'll certainly look forward to playing again in the future. Just this novice golfin gals opinion.

Played here this weekend for the first time and was very impressed! This is the Omni hotel's course and as expected was very well maintained. There's a few holes through the wash, and where it's not the optimal geographic location, they made good use of the area with a very long par 3 and 5. A couple other holes cross crossed the wash, but that's about my only minor ding. Service was spot on, food was great, and used my Red dot book for a discount.
The course is, as previous reviewers have stated, LOADED with Palm trees. They are beautiful and remind me more of the healthy Florida palms not the starved smog filled so cal palms. Wind was howling early at a steady 20-25 but was beautiful, about 75 degrees with bright sun and blue sky.
Tee boxes were well cut, level with a few with a bit of divots.
Fairways were beautiful S was the rough at a very manageable 1 - 1 1/2".
Greens were smooth, a few scattered marks, nothing to note, and a bit slower than the practice green.
Sand was great, full and abundant, medium weight and NO rocks!
Had food before and after the round and both were great.
I am so glad my friends suggested playing here. I felt like I was on vacation all day.

Played here today and was absolutely impressed. Staff were friendly. Tee boxes were flat and level and lush. Fairways were in great condition and greens were smooth and very green. Only saw the cart girl one time on hole 3. We finished in just under 4.5 hours. There are TONS of Palm trees but the course was absolutely beautiful. Great water features that came into play on a few holes. The weather today was windy but manageable. We played the north and the west course. The holes with the wash were a bit challenging. Sand bunkers were nice and fluffy. Quite a few footprints though. Drinking fountains on quite a bit of the holes. Course was full today but didn't have to wait much.

Very impressive for summer conditions in the desert. In fact, it is hard to beat current presentation even in the winter.

Played West/South. West: No fault found. Greens immaculate, just a little slow but seriously true rolling. South has some mixed grasses still on greens but that is the only defect. Tee through green extremely lush conditions.

What a relaxing Friday afternoon from 11:11 tee time for the four of us. Very easy pace on 4 hours on a well presented layout, with lush conditions. Greens are a little slow, allowing the grass to grow due to the heat coming in the next few days. They held very well and were true. Tees, fairways, rough and sand all good. Playing the South/West was a fun challenge off blue tees during a warm day. No drinks cart today (?) and deals now allow unlimited play. Worth it.
The rough is today being scarified and fairways begin tomorrow, in preparation for bermuda grass growth promotion.
