Played South/North courses on 4/15 with a nice Golfnow hot deal, $53 with a 1:15 tee time which was significantly lower than rack rate. Haven't played here in probably 20 years, it used to be a private club when I was growing up and the conditions are still quite solid for a desert course despite being owned by a hotel chain now: Great teeboxes, lush fairways with very few dead/rough spots, rough was up to maybe over half a ball or deeper and required a good swing to get out of. Greens were hard and reasonably fast, mis-struck approaches or poor wedges rolled out a lot and putts rolled true. Fairway bunkers had hard dirt-esque sand but greenside bunkers had the really nice fine-grained white stuff. I would describe the layout as an 'easier resort course' - South and West courses are lined with houses but nothing is too narrow, most of North course plays down and up elevation through the large drainage canal in the area, offering some nice views and close-to-blind approaches in some cases. It's easy enough on the scorecard at par 71 and 6300 from the blues, the rough and smaller greens are what give this place some teeth. Overall a very enjoyable experience, I was able to walk 9 and take a cart for 9, facilities are clean and staff was very friendly. Also: free range balls is a huge plus in this day and age of hyper profitseeking behavior from most public courses.

Played Fri 2/3, 12pm, 4 1/2 hr round... greens running about a 10, firm and true. Fun routing, typical palm springs layout, but not overly difficult. Course not long... a big dry drainage river runs through it, so several of the holes runs up and down over it. We played the N/S... the W I think was closed, as they are doing some kind of extensive work... maybe a drainage project. The Driving range is not open for the same reason. There were several areas of fairways in disrepair, and we played those GUR. We were comparing the courses to Vegas. This was definitely old school Palm Springs golf... older resort, older course... like the Flamingo, while the Classic club is like the Winn. Desert Willow is like the Bellagio. But overall had a fun time and wouldn't be mad if I played here again.

Played 9/9/22 just before it started raining. Played the North/South combo from the blacks. Tee boxes mostly level with the par 3s a little chewed up. Most of the course had great coverage, no bare spots anywhere- there were some thin spots here and there though. Sand traps had great sand in them. Greens were rolling really good. The only thing about the desert is that most of the pro shops right now close at 12pm so there's no way to sneak a twilight round in. But if you get there before 12pm, they will usually let you go around twice and only pay for one... I would rate this as a second tier course- (this isn't Desert Willow or PGA West). If you want to experience something different, this definitely different.

Rode the Blacks on the North/West combo (6288/69.8/122) in 3.5H on a GN Hot Deal. Matched up with Andrew, Dave and Jack, excellent group to play with. 95, fairly calm and sunny. Course still playable right before over seeding but getting dry. Tees mediocre, some had not been recently mowed. Decently maintained for divots. Fairways mostly lush and nice to play from. Rough mostly lush and penal. Deep, thick Bermuda in most places. Sand traps had decent sand and were okay. Bermuda greens putted medium slow speed and held irons with some run out. Firm and early Fall Bermuda bumpy. Customer Service excellent all around. Cart staff is excellent. Well stocked pro shop. No drink cart, but there was an open snack stand at the turn. Single rider carts @ no extra charge. Carts have Shark Experience GPS that measures to the center of the green. Grass range was okay with complimentary range balls. Recommended.

Overcast skies at low 90 degrees weather during our round was nice.
It’s been at least a couple of years since I’ve played here. We played the south/west combination which was still lush and in good shape.
The greens rolled medium slow and bumpy at times, but not too bad.
Bunkers still does not have rakes but plenty of sand.
Fairways were good and lush.
Teeing grounds were in great shape.
Rough was lush- taller in some areas but mostly just 3-4 inches.
Simple check in with helpful staff.
3 hours and 50 minutes round.
No beverage cart.

First time playing this course. We bought the Play and Stay special from Underpar. Great deal with 2 days of unlimited golf and 1 night stay at the Omni Hotel. 1st day our foursome played all three 9s in under 6 hours. 2nd day we only played 18 holes (West-South). Staff was great and accommodating. Was told that that carts were required to be in at 4pm.

We liked the West-South but did not enjoy the North 9, as the north 9 had more up and down elevation and not as flat.

Okay for the review of the course. The course was okay but we thought it would be better for a resort and CC course. We have played in several resort courses in the Palm Springs area and this course was not up to par compared to the others we played.

Some holes were located in what appears to be the dry riverbed, wonder what would happen in a flash flood. Greens had micro aeration holes and some had dry brown spots, puts were slow and and slightly bumpy. Fairways and rough were lush and green, best part of the course. Bunkers were wet and compacted, some had green standing water. Need more restrooms within the course.

Overall a decent deal with Underpar.

Rode the Blacks on all three 9's mid day in less than 5H on a GN "Hot Deal". Fairly calm, sunny and temps in the low 100's is pretty normal here for early June. Course very playable but they definitely need to be watering the greens more. Getting crusty. Tees lush and well maintained for divots. Fairways lush and nice to play from. Rough mostly lush and thick but still good POP rough, not overly tall. Sand traps had decent sand but were too uneven and crusty. Greens putted medium slow speed and held irons with some run out. Firm and Summer Bermuda bumpy. West 9 had been punched with small tines. I have played here four times in the last six weeks. (Cheap + close by = win/win!) Playing conditions can change radically even within a few days when the temps are consistently above 100 if they are not soaking the place. And when they are soaking the fairways, it can cause different sets of issues. Teeing off at the stones, I was almost pin high on an uphill 332 yard par 4 after several huge bounces on the cut close, pavement like fairway conditions on many holes. Another hole my drive plugged in the fairway when I hit a wet spot. Leaving me unable to reach the GIR even with a maximum 3 wood approach shot into a slight breeze on one of the longest par 4's on the course. Customer Service excellent all around. Cart staff is excellent. Well stocked pro shop. No drink cart, but there was an open snack stand at the turn. Single rider carts @ no extra charge. Carts have GPS to the F/C/B of greens. Grass range was okay with complimentary range balls. Recommended.

Rode the Blacks on all three 9's mid day in 5H, 10M. Played with Cameron for all 27 holes and we had George with us for a few holes. Low 100's, sunny and fairly calm. Tees lush and well maintained. Fairways lush/firm, mostly nice to play from. Rough mostly lush and thick but not overly tall. Still somewhat penal. Sand traps had decent sand and were okay. Greens putted medium speed and held irons with a little run out. Firm and getting middle of the summer Bermuda bumpy and slower each visit. Course very playable but definitely transitioning to summer and not peak conditions. Single rider carts @ no extra charge. Carts have GPS to the F/C/B of greens. Customer Service excellent all around. Well stocked pro shop. No drink cart, but there was an open snack stand at the turn. Grass range was okay with complimentary range balls. Recommended.

Played Rancho Las Palmas this morning with Nick and Sam on a warm and sunny 89 degree beautiful day in Rancho Mirage. I pretty much agree with Nick’s review about the course so I won’t go into repeating what he said and neither of us were playing all that well, however we all had fun. RLP is a very fun course that’s not very long and you will have a great time there. Definitely recommended…
