Played a couple of weeks ago but no review as they had punched and sanded the greens. I did go back today and the maintenance paid off. Greens were smooth and fast and consistent. Bunkers could use some sand but the dirt was very fluffy around the greens and no problems getting out of. The rough was ,well, rough. The fairways were in normal summer mode. Some good lies and some so so but nothing to really hurt your game. For the price it is a bargain. $28 for seniors riding.

If Walking Dead needs to film an episode at a golf course - I have a suggestion of where to film it. Areas of this course look and feel like the course was abandoned long ago and are succumbing to mother nature (and zombies). All the traps are marked as "ground under repair" and I cannot guess what their future entails.

I'm not sure who this golf course is for. The rates, and conditions and slowness of the greens say "Hacker" - but the 200 plus par 3's to tiny greens with trouble all around, the ubiquitous OB, the tight drives with houses on one side say "Golfer".

The greens and chipping areas had more grass than I remember from 4 years ago - only a couple of holes seemed worse than I recalled - but still - I forgot how much I hate the layout overall. Way too many holes perched high on a shelf. Holes 7,8 look like the area is rented out as an off-road park a couple of days a week. Those 2 unforgiving 200 plus par 3's with tiny greens and surrounded by trouble.

You know what it takes to play this course well? Braaaaaaaains!!!

Played Super Bowl Sunday in a best ball tourny with my wife and son in law. I used to play here alot in the late 80s and early 90s with my bowling buddies but haven't played here since 1992. I remembered all the holes but what i didn't remember was the course is allot narrower than I remembered, also allot more elevation change than I remembered. I thought the greens were in real good shape. For the most part the tee boxes were ok but 14 was nothing but dirt. Some of the fairways were ok and a few were very bad. We had a group of 6 playing and one guy went through 3 carts, kept dying. POP was horrible at 545, I really don't know why I play these things, but that POP was the tourny, not the course. The course has some short holes but with the elevation changes some holes play longer. If you are a long hitter you probably will hit 3 wood most of the day. This is not a course for beginners as the houses come in play on most holes and it is way too much elevation changes for beginners. This is a no thrill course so don't expect much.

As strange as it seems, I actually enjoy playing this course? So long as your expectations are not too high. (It's not Pelican Hill) there are several fun holes on this course. Sure you have to look past the overall condition, but the greens are decent and areas near the greens are pretty good, which is the most critical part of the course.

It's cheap, quick, easy access golf which sometimes is all I'm looking for. Staff as always friendly and very accommodating. Wouldn't want to make a steady diet of this course, but it's a nice change of pace.

I played here Sunday, 6-11-17, on my way home from my earlier round at Arrowhead. I wanted something cheap and no frills, just to complete the golf fix for the day. This was only my third time playing here in a 12 years and it hasn’t changed a bit. The way it winds around the houses with narrow holes seemingly put anyplace they could squeeze them in, reminds me a lot of Shorecliffs. Although the conditions are so shabby that my first instinct is to say ‘what a dump’, I have to admit I that like it. There are some really fun and challenging holes with a lot of big elevation changes and some really tough blind shots. The greens were actually really nice. They were soft and rolled fast medium. There were very few ball marks and fresh ones repaired cleanly. All the grass within 20 yards or so of the green was also in great shape. Everything beyond was thin to bare, rutty, bumpy, holey, making for a real spine-jarring ride! It’s really a shame that the course isn’t kept up better. If it was I’m sure I’d play there more often but for now, every couple years will do.

Played here today (7/23/16). Really do enjoy this course for what it is.

First and foremost, the staff here is the most welcoming staff of any course i have ever played. It hit 107 today, and i was offered cold towels at the beginning, the turn, and finally took one at the end. The entire staff is personable, and treats people like family.

Further, the cost is great at $24 for twilight.

Course plays through a neighborhood that is decently nice. Plays over lots of hills, which gives the course some character.

Teeboxes were somewhat unlevel in parts, but i could always find a decent spot to tee up.

Fairways and rough were brown in parts and green in parts. I give course a pass since they were watering fairways with reclaimed water during our round (sprinklers came on after we finished front 9 and did not interrupt the back). Good to see they are trying to keep course watered in the dead of summer.

Real disappointment was the sand. Not so much sand as it was dirt. Hard packed with rocks in it.

Big upside was the fringe and greens. Both were in great condition. Greens were a bit slow, but played nicely. All held shots well and all rolled true. I fixed quite a few ball marks, but cannot fault course for this (fix your marks people!).

Pop was 3.5 hours. Never ran into another groupon course due to heat. Would have been even faster but for our group stopping to reapply sunscreen every few holes.

My only real complaint is that they do not have logo balls. I collect logo balls, and my ocdmakes me want to have a complete set. I am missing a logo ball for cresta verde and it bothers me to no end!

All things considered, cresta verde is a great course for the money. Not the best in sny regard, but great for the low price of admission.

This will be a difficult review for me because I am always hesitant to be overly critical of any golf course. I knew going in, not to expect "pristine" conditions, but I was still disappointed. I will say the greens are the best I have ever seen them. (In all fairness, I rarely play here, but they were very good, albeit too slow for my taste)

There were areas in the fairways which were very nice, other areas, not so much. Same with the tee boxes, some good, some really poor. (I played from the tips on every hole, so maybe they were better "up front"? There are just so many areas that are dirt, bare, unmaintained, etc, it just is kind of depressing to see it.

I guess maybe because I only had pins on about 6 of the holes, plus I did have sprinklers running on well over 1/2 the tee boxes, so it was a race to tee try to beat them and avoid getting soaked. I do not have any problem with the sprinklers running in the fairways, but when the greens and tee boxes have them on, it makes for less than a positive experience.

As I said, I rarely play here, but actually find some of the holes rather charming and interesting. A change of pace! Hopefully when I return in a few years, things will have improved??

Was unable to persuade anyone to go to Corona at 0600AM on Saturday morning; therefore i had no choice but going Solo.
Early Saturday traffic was a breeze from OC to Corona, took no more than 25 mins to arrive at the course. Check-in was nice and easy, and ready to go by 0625AM. I was paired up with a local and regular golfer who was also going Solo as his playing partner was unavailable, very nice older gentlemen, was later advised that He and his partner has the 2nd tee time on every Saturday reserved.
Course condition was below average as it really need improvements on almost every fairways; tee boxes were at least decent and level, fairways were different colors and many
large bare areas; bunkers were actually being worked on; greens were near perfect with slow to medium speed with many hidden breaks and tilts. Course lay-outs were very nice and interesting as they blended into the residential areas and hillsides; the view of OC and Riverside County can be seen on the greens of a few holes. Beautiful course should clean ups and improvements are being made. I was told that the course is actually in much better shape now than it was 2 years ago, as the owners were going thru family matters. Works and improvements are being made on a daily basis now as the Wife is now handling the course and the sole decision maker. Lets just have our fingers crossed for the best because i can really picture how beautiful this course can be on its glory days; hopefully those day will be soon....
Will definitely be on the come back list!

Played yesterday April 6, 2016, the course is just getting better and better. The greens are looking terrific, the fairways are the best I've seen them since I began playing this track in 2012. The bunkers are being restored and they are coming along... Cresta Verde offers some good challenges for golfers of any handicap level. The staff is helpful and the French fries are superb! I find myself underestimating the extra club needed for many of the holes as they play uphill and are sometimes deceiving in that way. Bill Harrison
