I don't know what my rating score is going to come out to, but if it isn't high, it should be. After taking some time off to let my back heal, reset the batteries, and hopefully get rid of the new swing I'd been tinkering with, I needed a course that was in very good shape, but wasn't too demanding, which I'd heard about Goose Creek many times. They were $39 for twilight, which isn't too bad, and they were able to get me out right away. I don't know why I keep hearing that this course is very easy. The tee shots are not very demanding, but bunkers are well-placed in my landing zone (290-310) and I ended up finding more fairway bunkers than I have in the past year. The bunkers were by far their biggest shortcoming, but that isn't saying much, as they were still in pretty fair shape. The course is not very long, but the greens are tricky when it comes to approach shots. There were a lot of sucker pins that from 100 yards out or more seemed welcoming. I had some well-struck shots to the middle of the green that got sucked off into different bailouts. The greens almost played and looked like links courses. They punched a little while back, which somehow didn't affect playability. The only problem I had with them is that very few people fixed their ball marks, which is increasingly common. On the par 5 fourth, the group in front of us was playing excessively slow, and my buddy and I saw a patch of golf balls in the foliage on the left side off the fairway. I always like finding some junk shag balls, so we went in there. DO NOT GO IN THERE. We both got caught up in some poison oak that I didn't see at first. When we got out with our assortment of Pinnacles, Slazengers, and Top Flites that we paid dearly for, we complained that there wasn't a sign. There was, we had just walked past it. This round was capped with one of the best finishing holes I have ever played at a public course. A 460 yard par 4 that I went driver, PW, lipped out my putt from 12 feet for a satisfying par. If you want a good time on a very different, fun course, with just enough challenge to keep you on your toes, look no further. I will definitely be back.

Back at Goose this past Saturday 5/25 at 2:04pm tee time. Great rate of $44 since we booked through their site and still had a promo code from the LA Golf Show (about the only thing that show was good for lol!) Service in the pro shop was great as usual. We arrived early and was asked if we wanted to go out early. We gladly accepted and we're on the 1st tee at 1:45pm. Tees- Level and lush coverage everywhere, no complaints. Fairways- Perfect and provided great lies all day. Divots had been filled in nicely by crew and fellow conscientious golfers that actually care about their course for a change. Rough- Lush throughout and didn't see any bare or even thin spots. Bunkers- Was in one greenside bunker and it had great quality sand as GC always does. Greens- Only knock for me today and that's only comparing them to their usual standards. Compared to your average muni these would easily be a 9/10 or 10/10 but for Goose Creek they were still much slower than usual. Maybe it was due to the afternoon start? But it appears as though they are just taking longer than past years to recover from punching and are still a little shaggy. But honestly that's just nitpicking on my part. Customer Service/Facilities- Check in went smooth. Everyone from the cart guys, up front to the pro shop staff were very friendly and welcoming. Misc.- As is the case most afternoons in the IE, it was windy and for your allergy sufferers be warned that there is a LOT of pollen floating around the course this time of year so plan accordingly!

The course is in its usual top notch condition with the exception of a couple of greens that still show some signs of the punching. Nothing major and did not effect putts for me. Greens rolled nicely and true.
The bunkers have some new sand but the two I was in were still damp from the overnight watering.
Tee boxes and fairways were perfect in my opinion. Never had a problem finding a spot to tee off and. never a bad lie in the fairways I hit.
The rough is not to long and fairly easy to hit out of.
The is my favorite course and it never disappoints. I will be back again soon.

Played Thursday and course is in good shape. I was in 2 bunkers and both had sand. The greens held good shots and even a couple spun back a little. Had nice lies when in the fairway and the rough is just long enough to cause small problems. I wish more courses would keep the rough at 1-3 inches as longer rough slows down play. We were a foursome and finished just under 4 hours.

Played Yesterday. Been a while but thought we would try it based on some good reviews. Personally, I have never thought too much of the track. Not the most challenging course. They have no rough to speak of so you have to be very wild to find trouble on most holes....... all in all I think that’s why lots of people like it. The course conditions however were good but the greens were not good. Pace was decent at around 4 hrs. Tee boxes were all decent and the only bunker I was in was trampled by the “people” in front of us...... the new normal! Great grass driving range and service. Greens were awful, bumpy and hard.

If I suddenly found myself with too much money and wanted to buy a golf course, I would want to clone the management and maintenance crew here at Goose Creek to run it, they do everything right.

If I suddenly found myself with too much money and wanted to buy a golf course, I would want to clone the management and maintenance crew here at Goose Creek to run it, they do everything right.
The range is perfect, I was trying to think of another course, that has as good of a range as at the Goose, maybe Soboba? an hour away and a distant second. Empire Lakes is a good range, but gets a lot of play and often chewed up.
The T's, fairways, rough and were all in close to perfect condition. POP was very good.
Greens were slightly bumpy from aeration.
Sand was good quality, but had footmarks from the previous day. Surprised the bunkers were not groomed, but despite that, I had decent lies and were not in any of the prints.
The best course in the local area for your money!

This course would be a great course if they would only put SAND in the bunkers or maybe just fill them in if they're not. It's ridiculous when the cart path is softer. Once again. the greens still have not healed

Played Goose Creek yesterday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see how empty the course was from a normal weekend. Perhaps the threat of rain or Cinco de Drunk-o celebrations kept people away but I wasn't complaining about our threesome basically having the course to ourselves. POP was 3.5 hours and that's with us taking our time and the closest group behind us at least 4 holes back. Agree with jaybird regarding the conditions. GC has set the bar so high that even when it's at 75-80% it's still better than most courses at 100%. Tees, fairways, bunkers, rough were all good to great. Recent windy conditions have left small debris in many spots but not the courses' fault. Didn't rate the course this time because the greens were still recovering from aeration and were bumpy although seemed to be healing well and rolling medium speed. Softer than normal for the Goose. Today's rain and a couple more weeks and they should be back to their usual glorious selves! Can't wait to go back.

Played yesterday with old friends and had a blast. Course conditions not the best I have seen Goose Creek. Greens (4 weeks ago) punched and still not the GC normal great roll. Fairways good, but not the great GC as I knew. Bunkers has grass popping up in many.

Even with that said, still better than it's surrounding competitor courses. Great range and staff. It still has some great holes on that course, a pleasure to play, great pricing, and you can walk....
