Played on Sat (11/2) around 1:30 pm. POP was about 4.5 hours as we finished just after 6pm. Course is in good shape and greens are nice - just a little soft. Only complaint - not against course but rather other players - fix your ballmarks. We fixed quite a few unrepaired ball marks, esp on last few holes (about 10-20 per green). Overall, an excellent value.

Played here Sat. 10/19 with. A 7:42 tee time. Got out about 5 minutes early and finished in 4:10 perfect pace. We only waited on number 2 for just a couple of minutes.

They are off of cart path only. Fairways where wet and soft in a few places but overall very lush and easy to hit from.
The greens have recovered nicely from punching with just a couple of greens showing the pattern but it did not effect the roll. Greens are smooth and hold shots well with a medium fast pace.
Only down side was the practice green was being heavily watered and you could not use it.
Saw the cart 3-4 times and the marshal came by a couple of times.

Course still a bit rough around the edges. Just over-seeded and punched the greens. Seems like the back 9 was punched after the front. After the turn the greens seemed a bit bumpier and still had quit... Continue »

Course still a bit rough around the edges. Just over-seeded and punched the greens. Seems like the back 9 was punched after the front. After the turn the greens seemed a bit bumpier and still had quite a bit of pattern from the plugs. Fairways were pretty long and wet to say the least. Drives plugged into the fairway a couple of times and they are still cart paths only. At times you could not see your ball in the fairway from the cart path because the fairways are still long as were the tee boxes. I heard the guy in the golf shop tell someone on the phone that they are still about a week from letting carts back onto the fairways. I would give it another 2 weeks to get back into shape. Overall still one of the best tracks in SoCal and the 18th has to be the best finishing hole in the state. What a beast!

Played Monday 9/2 10am tee time; played as a 4some, 4:30 round. Haven't played here in probably 9-10 years.. such a nice layout. Greens were big, fast, and true. Quite a few fairway divots not filled. Hot and humid today. breeze picked up towards end of round. Glad I made it out.

Played Thursday (08/29/13) and had a 7:08 (4ball) and got there about 6:30 and was told we had NO t-time. This is not the first time this has happend!! Then they tryed to tell me that maybe I had made a t-time at another Goose Creek in another state and said "this happens all the time". BS, they tryed to make me feel like I'm stupid!!! Yes I'm 67 years old but I know who I call and make a t-time with. I go to Greenskeeper and look up the course and call the number they have listed and I talked to them three times (to find out the rates, to make a t-time 7:50 something and to change the t-time to the 7:08). So we had to sit around for more then one half hr. and got out about 7:40. Now the good part the course is fun, tuff and walkable. We played in a little over 4.5 hrs. because of the 4ball two groups ahead. They were a little slow and would take extra putts after they finished the hole with two groups standing on the tee (aholes). Two of the guys I played with had never played the course before and love the course and said they would come back. But I will call the day before just to make sure we have a t-time.

Love this course... wish I lived closer. Every hole is unique and requires strategy. The greens were a little bumpy and I could still see airation holes from a few weeks ago. Tough finishing hole.

Like the last review by bsparks1961, I nabbed today's 1:05 $49 reservation. When I got there around 12:30, the pro shop guy said the other 3 who were at 1:05 were already on the tee and that no one else was scheduled to tee off until after 2:00. He gave me a driving range token and offered to let me head to the first tee whenever I was ready.

The course is in very good shape. The greenskeepers are doing a good job, but the players aren't doing so hot. The greens are quite quick, but there's an overabundance of ball marks for this caliber of course. Why aren't people fixing these when they make them? I never had to give a second thought to fairways and rough because they were in good shape no matter where I was. Wasn't in a bunker all day, so not sure about those. (Johnny: Seems like there should be a "not applicable" option when rating the course.)

One hole was positioned about a foot away from a big ugly cut in the green that I hope occurred today. (I mean I hope that the course didn't thoughtlessly position a hole so close to a messed-up part of the green.)

This was my first time playing here and I liked the layout quite a bit. That 18th is a beast, and it wasn't even playing from the back tee. Overall, the course didn't blow me away, but for the rate I got and the 3:40 POP on a Saturday afternoon (played through one group), it was an all-around great experience.

Wife and I took advantage of the great priced 1:05pm tee time ($49). First time to play this course and were very excited to play based on the reputation.

Wife and I took advantage of the great priced 1:05pm tee time ($49). First time to play this course and were very excited to play based on the reputation.

Well it was pretty nice...not great, but better than average I would say.

Tee boxes - level but very dry and hard.
Fairways - consistent throughout all holes, some yellowing, but otherwise spendid.
Greens - WOW!!! tricked out and challenging. Need some experience on this course know where to hit the approach shots.
Carts - no GPS, no cooler - this is a sin..every course in the IE should have coolers.
Overall I liked the course and probably will play again - this biggest downside to it is just the drive from southern OC to get there...any drive on the 91 is rough.
