This course is the poster child for how to take care of a golf course. It is pristine, from the minute you check in and step on the practice green and use the range, to the first tee and fairway and greens. Why cant more golf courses be like the goose and charge a reasonable rate for a perfectly maintained and challenging course. Love the goose

Played in a tournament late Saturday morning 11/6, on a great day for golf. Started more than 30 minutes late for some reason as they were well behind. This is one of my favorites in SoCal and I always look forward to playing it. Course looked great and played great, except that most areas were a little overwet, making for some mud problems on the ball even in fairways. Shop said it was because they just came out of maintenance a couple weeks ago and they need to keep things moist. Greens were firm and quick and rolled great. Wind came up in the afternoon and made the back nine difficult. Late start and slow round made for a long day. Always recommended.

Played Sun 11/7. Went out at 8:30 and finished in 4:10. This is my favorite course and I was not disappointed today. Tee boxes level and lush. Fairways in perfect condition. Greens smooth and quick.The only thing that was off where the bunkers. They were wet and very firm. Guess I should stay out of them and it would'nt have been an issue. I will be back here again and again, soon. We need an outing here next year. This place is top notch.

Played Wednesday while the wind was howling. The course is in great shape, the fairways are like carpet, and very green, the rough is thick and about 2 inches deep, enough to lose a ball or two. The greens were a little bumpy, and I stress little. The greens were tough to read, if the pace of play is good and you are not holding anybody up, look at the hole from a few angles, can save a few shots. The tee boxes were just ok, looks like they have had work done on them in the recent past and they are letting them grow out a touch so the grass thickens, but still very playable. I was in only one trap and the sand was great, not too fluffy and not too thin.
Pace of play was great about 4 hours and 15 minutes to get around, and it was more crowded than normal for a Wednesday.

Got to play 2 rounds on 10/18, finished the 2nd round at 2:30, doesn't get much better than that.

Course was in typical Goose condition, though the bunkers were a little messy from the rain, and some of the greens are still recovering from recent reseeding. This is just a fun place to play a round, and if you're lucky, play two.

My first time playing here, I can see why GKers rate this track highly. The layout reminds me of Soule Park in Ojai, but with Olivas Links in Ventura's greens. MANY of these greens have false sides or drop off areas that HAVE to be taken into account on chips and even putts. The course was in very good condition. Nothing, from the greens, fairways, traps, rough or tess wasn't above average. Combine that with a good layout and you have a course I'd play regularly if I didn't live close to 100 miles away. I teed of at 10:20A and walked 36 holes on Friday 9/17/10. Even with temps close to 100 a very enjoyable experience. I played alone in the afternoon and was amazed how few golfers were out, I often had at least a hole in front of and back of me open.

Played Goose Creek 9/12/10 The course was in good shape except where they are thatching tee boxes, fairways and in a few places right in front of the greens. These conditions are not noted in the course alerts for So. Cal.. The course is still a really nice track. But I think that until their reseeding, punching and thatching programs are finished I wiil play some of the other courses in the area.

They have started course mantiance and some of the tee boxes and fairways are shaved down (dethached). Course still plays very nice. Greens in great shape. I would call ahead in the next few weeks to see what else is being done.
I really like the lay out of this course and the staff is top notch.

Played 9/3, at 9am. First time here. Played a single and was fit with two other singles within 30 minutes. I found this course to be very challenging for players over 15 handicap due to close entry into unplayable beyond primary rough. As a 14, I found this course challenging yet very enjoyable. The course was in very good condition. I didn't once have to look for fairway grass. As a desert course the views were pleasing and the pace if of play good, finished in 4 hours, 20 min. The range was grass and the balls good. Putting greens were close to the course greens in condition and speed. Very tricky greens to read. You would need to play several times to get the general tendencies for reading greens. Overall this is the best kept course and best value in the area. I will be back soon. Hidden Valley is a little more picturesque but with even more challenging play for high handicapers. Next will be Dos Lagos and Eagle Glen. Eagle is in process of green airation, so it may be a few weeks for this one.
