I was in L.A. for my first annual home visit from India. You had to know I was going to play The Goose a couple of times (at least) while I was here...and - of course, I'd be writing reviews for Greenskeeper.org! I did play there twice (Sunday April 3 and Saturday April 9) The first round was played on a lark...I had purchased a new set of clubs as soon as I arrived...and - except for the medium bucket that I hit off the mats at the range at Westridge GC...I hadn't hit the new sticks yet. What better place to try them out than my true "home course"! When I arrived mid-morning for the Sunday round, I was greeted warmly by Jim behind the counter... He told me that if I wanted to get out and play...I had better get my shoes changed and get right out to the first too...and that we would settle my bill when I finished. That's just the kind of guy Jim is..always willing to help! He did inform me that the greens had been punched and sanded, so it was no surprise when I reached the first green. The Goose has weathered all of the recent rains well...it was nice and green and the ball was sitting up well in all fairway lies. The rough was all grown-up and it was best to keep the ball in the short-grass! The greens had begun to heal - although the punching had been done with the "big holes" - and the greens were not at their best....That's why we have Greenskeeper...so we can "know before we go! The six-days in-between rounds, the greens had healed quite a bit more and the ball was rolling more true by Saturday. Typically bumpy conditions after an aeration made putting an adventure on a few holes...but overall the greens were pretty fast...especially downhill. By the time you read this, the greens will have had yet another week-or-so to heal...so I'm sure all will be well by the end of April. There were a few bare patches and minimal GUR...so - overall - while not the perfection I have sometimes seen at Goose Creek over the years...it is still the best course in the Inland Empire and certainly one of the best bargains in all of Southern California!!

Played the Goose for the 2nd time yesterday at twilight. Love this track! everything was perfect except that the greens were recently punched and the holes were on the punched spot. They could've placed the pins on the good side of the greens! Got there an hour early for the twilight time and starter sent us out right away. cool. Pace of play was really good. We will be back for sure

Played 3/17/11 for the first time and couldn't be happier. The course was in absolutely beautiful condition. The fairways and greens were lush, green, and just about perfect. The staff at the clubhouse, from check-in to the bar staff was fabulous. My only complaint is that we only saw the cart girl once, but we did have a late start. I would definitely play again and you can't beat the price for $39.

Once again Goose Creek comes through with wonderful conditions. There are not many courses that keep up all aspects of a course than the Goose does. The greens are firm but will soften up once they aerify in a few days. I can walk the course. I am not taking out a loan to play here. The conditions are great. And this course has a nice layout with an assortment of risk/reward holes. For quality and price this is how it is done!!!!! THANK YOU G.C.G.C.!!!!!

If goose creek was a woman (a well maintained, nails done hair done everything did kinda woman) I'd go gay and marry her.. Hell I'd leave work (half day) for her. We paid 36 to walk and finished in a little under 4:30. Seems a bit hefty for twilight but considering the minimal foot traffic totally worth it. I thought the fairway was immaculate... being a newbie.. I lost count of how many times I exclaimed "Wow! these fairways look just like the ones on TV! Hey! Am I on TV?!?! HI MOM!"

But in all seriousness, the greens are fast with tricky pin placement, I guess that's why I hate and love golf sometimes.. it's the Ike to my Tina.. even with all the mental effin.. I'm still back for more.

GC is always a gem. I wonder why I don't play here more often. To a beginner, the course can be perceived as a pushover. The greens have subtle undulations, the bunkers are strategic, and the wind will always cause a 2nd guessing of club selection..

You never see this course on golfnow or click4teetimes because they don't need to discount their course to get players. Just pay up...and enjoy.

Played today (3/9/2011) and will go back. A solid one hour drive out to this course, but well worth it. Great condition, fairways and greens in excellent shape. 4 hour round (8am weekday tee off) as play seemed to move quickly. Friendly staff. Downsides: I played from the blue tees today and really paid the price with my score. Also noticed there are not ball washers at every tee box. Greens are tricky - tough pin placements and while not "fast" per say, your ball just seems to keep rolling and rolling ....
18th hole is a bear, long and lots of water. Overall, a great time for a great price. Definite recommend.

Played early this morning. Course is in great shape as always. Greens rolling smooth and pretty quick, and as always the fairways were excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful.
