Played Friday may 22nd at 652,we had 4 groups and when we called they only gave us 1 tee time, but they did squeeze us all in. They still have signs up about masks which they agreed they need to take down. Putting greens and driving range open. The pool noodles are in the holes on the putting green and are too high, out on the course they are lower and really do not get in the way, not like the metal things at mile square. POP was slow at 415 course was in good shape, greens rolled nice. No rakes but none of us were in any bunkers, they did have trashcans on the tee boxes. They encouraged people to ride together. Coffee shop open for take out, rest room at clubhouse open, not 1 at a time as mile square.

I rarely play "away" from Coto on the weekends, but was invited by a friend who needed to fill the foursome, so decided to revisit Jurupa Hills. First time I've played there, other than first off in the morning on weekdays. I am not used to playing 4 1/2 + hour rounds, so it seemed like forever, but in truth it was only about 4 1/2 hours. However the weather was great and I focused more on the company than the golf, so it was a change.

As for the course, but too much to add to the prior reviews. Greens here are generally reasonably quick, but not today. Still very slow. Bunkers were thin. Fairways were for the most part pretty good, some brown/dry areas.

I kind of like this course. Not the most difficult, but still provides enough of a challenge to keep one's interest. It's just nice to be able to get out and play golf again - at last

I played today. I wasn't initially thinking of playing here but a few days ago, when cleaning out an old golf bag, I found a rain check from the course for 9 holes. This was given to me way back in 2017 after suffering through a 3-1/2 hour front nine. Happily, they honored the voucher so I got to play 18 holes for only $19 with a cart. I arrived 40 minutes before my 10:30 am tee time. The driving range and both putting greens were open and in very nice shape. I hung out there while waiting for the threesome I was to play with to arrive. Interestingly, during the entire time, no one at all teed off. There were a lot of groups waiting. I don’t know why they didn’t send anyone out. The course was in really good shape. Like putt4dough said yesterday, the fairways were very nice with only a few thin or brown spots. The rough was short and thick. I wasn’t in any bunkers and didn’t take notice of how they looked. Most of the tee boxes, other than being not level, were in good shape. The greens were smooth, free of ball marks and rolled a medium-fast speed. I always enjoy playing here. It’s just a nice old style course. Most fairways are narrow and lined with many trees. There is water only on the 3 par 18th. There is a good mix of basic and quirky holes with elevation changes and doglegs. The only one I think is really stupid is #17. There is a tree and utility pole in the middle of the fairway and big trees on either side. Not much fun. POP was good at 3.5 hours. I’d be glad to play here anytime the conditions and pace are as good as today.

I played here yesterday, around noon. The course was very busy. Each group can take a single on the cart or if you choose, you can ride with 2. The fairways are in good condition, not too many dry or dirt patches, but some. The rough is cut low, about 1". The greens are a bit slow, but rolled nice. (med-slow) Bunkers did not have rakes, conditions are firm to hard. It's not too exciting to play , but it's golf.

Since we couldn’t get a tee time in OC, we got a 9:00 tee time here today, 5/7/20 as a “last resort” so that we could play. We paid $35.00 to walk. I haven’t played here in many, many years and my memories of the place were so-so.

However, even with “Covid-19 guidelines” (wearing masks, foam in cups, no rakes, distancing, etc.), we had a very enjoyable day. If you’re concerned about safety, it was in the mid-90’s today, but the majority of players wore masks and did a good job of abiding by the Covid guidelines. All of the staff also did.

To our surprise, the range, chipping area and putting green were open and in very good condition. The course was also in very good condition considering that they recently re-opened. Tee blocks were mowed, fairways and rough were also mowed to normal length and the greens rolled smoothly at medium speed. Debris like leaves, pine needles and any trash were cleaned up. The greenskeeper and maintenance staff deserve a lot of credit for getting the course in such good condition.

Lastly, the guy who checked us in was fast and friendly and the cart girl came around 4 times to check on us. If you want to ride, carts are available. The course was busy, but we played in 4:15. I’d highly recommend giving the course a try. Thanks to everyone at Jurupa Hills for a very enjoyable day, we’ll be back!!

Course very good condition, speed of play 4 hours, only problem was social distancing and safety totally NOT happening....ask City to look into it and will see if that helps...at lest 25% of players were not wearing any kind of face covering....Group behind us driving right up to us until 6 hole when the MONSTER I was playing we walked back and told them to get off his butt the rest of the round....we got a good 20 feet after that.......Love the course, as others have said several courses getting the Social thing right, this one needs some direction (poor follow through by Course manager). I played here yesterday (twilight). I got to go out as a single, so no mask required. Carts are available and can be shared but for players that live in the same household. The course was in very good condition. Tee boxes are flat with light damage (hackers) . the fairways looked and played nice. good roll with firm, yet tightly cut track. The rough was reasonable 1"-3". Shots came out pretty clean. Bunkers had no rakes. Either play out and complain about the foot prints, or just pick up and chip. The greens rolled med-fast and true. Flags and pins in, but cups flipped over with bumpers. Either try to putt to the cup and complain about the ball not going in, or just get close and take a 2 putt. Most everybody will end their round with near par! ...hahaha

I played Jurupa Hills for the first time on Wednesday, teeing off at 7:30 on a perfect day. I had never heard much about this course, but I was very impressed with both the layout and the conditions.

The layout of Jurupa Hills features moderately narrow, tree-lined fairways which usually move pretty significantly one way or the other. There is also quite a bit of elevation change from shot to shot, so there is plenty of challenge for most players.

Course conditions were pretty darn good. Lush tee boxes and fairways. The re-opening might have caught them a little by surprise, as there were some spots in the rough which had grown up beyond six inches in length, but they were mowing those areas as we played.

I wasn't in any bunkers, but I think the lack of rakes will kind of allow players to find a spot in the sand which is representative of a decent lie in a maintained bunker.

The greens had great coverage, but it looked like they had been punched recently, so they were a little bumpy and slow in some spots, but mostly they ran at medium speed. The greens have the potential to be excellent in a week or two.

As for Covid-19 restrictions; Social distancing with mask worn at all times. Range and putting green open. Solo riders in carts, with any walk-ons required to walk. All the holes have little pieces of pool noodles in them, (we had a handful of putts bounce out of the hole). No ball washers or trash cans. No rakes in the bunkers. Restrooms on the course locked.

Pace of play under four hours when I played, but the parking lot was packed when I left. Overall, a great day on a fun course!

Played Jurupa Hills in Riverside on 04/21/20 at 4:10 pm. Check in was fairly quick. Paid $24.00 cart included. Starter did a great job. Masks were mandatory at all times from the check in and on the course. Took a few holes to get used to the feel of the mask in the golf swing.
To my surprise, driving range and putting greens were open. Course was in very good shape. Tees were all perfect. Fairways were outstanding and greens were really nice. Pins were in on the greens with a piece of foam in the cup to keep your ball from falling in. I really had a great time being back on the golf course, although it seemed weird seeing the driving range open and full of people.
Lets all enjoy ourselves now that golf is slowly coming back and everyone stay safe. Enjoy.
