Found a good deal they posted on Teeoff.com for $30 @ 12:38pm for Saturday, 12/2. Very friendly greeting in the pro shop. The gentleman suggested I practice putting on the 'north' putting green, as he thought that one was closest to the greens. It was very helpful, as I got to see some of the hidden breaks that the greens were to provide on the day.

Got out on time, and was joined up with two nice younger lads still learning the game (aren't we all) and it made for an easy-going, relaxed round. They play here regularly, so they were able to help me out as it was my first time. POP was slow on the front, and indeed we waited on all 18 holes. But, after 2hrs 20mins on the front 9, we managed to finish after sunset in just enough light at 5:00pm, so very happy about that!

Really enjoyed the course layout overall. It is fun, not too challenging and the hills/contours and trees make for nice scenery. With the exception of 12 & 13, the fairways aren't really close enough to get cross-traffic from wayward golfers, which was great. Too bad about the placement of a few power/telephone poles on a few holes, but did manage to avoid hitting them. Very quiet setting, except for the trains that came by just twice, and from loud stereos coming from a few houses on the back 9. It's Saturday and it's time to party!!!

Tee boxes were really the only complaint for the course conditions. Majority were good enough and level, but some were soft, limited grass cover, and close to muddy in spots. Fairways were pretty good, closely mowed, but did end up with a few poor lies. The fairways on a few holes slant both sides to the middle (#10 & 15 come to mind), so except for wildly errant tee balls, you're nearly certain to end up near the middle! Was only in the rough once off the tees, and had a decent enough lie. The tree-lined fairways do provide a penalty for those who hit it off-line, and require some 'strategery' on a few tee balls and your 2nd shot on the front-side par5.

Bunkers were near immaculately groomed and trimmed, apparently all were groomed in the morning. Not many rakes, however, and a few golfers didn't bother to cover their tracks. I somehow managed to avoid them, but it looked like firm, medium-heavy sand in all.

Greens are certainly the treasure here. Very smooth, soft and receptive. Putted medium-fast for the most part. Very few old ball marks, but noticed a number of fresh, unrepaired deep ball marks from the day's play. Aaarrrgh! The were fun to putt on, and provided some unexpected breaks. Really needed to pay attention to your surroundings and grain to read them properly. They were just a little fuzzy and not cut as closely as I'd like, but if they were, they'd have been a REAL challenge.

No cart lady nor marshal sighting. But, the lads I played with they've seen marshals before and they do help keep pace on track usually.

Really enjoyed my experience at Jurupa Hills, and hope to be back in the near future. A bargain at $30 twilight rate on a Saturday!

POP was great although we did have a 3 some behind us which waited on us a few times but that's to be expected when you have one extra player than the guys behind you. Fairways were in great shape and tee boxes were a little rugged but in decent shape. Greens were perfect and sand was very good as well. I was impressed with how well they have kept the course. We got out at 6:23am and paid $49 each. I would pay up to $55 for this so it was priced perfectly.

The greens were in very good shape, the fairways great, and the teen boxes very good. The food was very good, the kitchen staff is excellent, and the Pro shop very friendly. One of my favorite local courses.

Early morning tee time at JH. Quite a few tee boxes were not level and had all kinds of different grass, fairways were very inconsistent in height of grass and firmness. On the front nine had a couple of hybrids got completely under the ball, back nine was a little better. Kikuyu grass around the greens make chipping the ball on the putting surface a must. Greens are what make things nice here. Soft and holding shots, smooth and medium speed.
Never saw a Marshall on the course and saw a group of seven join together on the second hole and the group in front of us were horsing around on every green. POP was at 4 hours but could have been better.

I played today, 12-17-16 with Gk’r iluv2golflady. It was a beautiful, but hand-numbingly cold day. We had a Groupgolfer deal of $49/2 players, a very nice price for this course. I’ve played here many times and really like the older, no-frills style of the course.

Conditions were quite good. The fairways were almost all green, with only #15 have any major bare spots. All the tee boxes were nicely level, but some were chewed up and a few were pretty much buried under a thick carpet of leaves. The greens, though very slow, were smooth and soft with hardly any ball marks. There are relatively few bunkers here. I was able to avoid them all today, but they looked nice. We finished in just under 5 hours. Other than the cold, it was a very enjoyable day.

First off at 6:15am on a frigid morning. I am used to playing at first light (Or before) but today it was really cold out there. High 30's, but only the smallest patches of frost. Just could never get warm today. That coupled with the fact golf balls do not travel very far in those temperatures made this short course play much longer than usual. Greens were the best part of the course by far. They rolled very true and received well struck shots well. (I only had a few of those unfortunately) Fairways were for the most part decent. A few tee boxes had some issues. Both bunkers I was in were well maintained and had plenty of sand. Staff was great as usual. Being first off and having nobody dumb enough to tee off that early in the cold, caused pace of play to be whatever I wanted. Took it nice and easy and finished in a relaxing 2 hours 40 min as a twosome. (It was still only 51 degress when we finished) Burrrrrr.

Played November 6. Was last group outrior to shutting down for a wedding. Was really nice as it felt like we had the course to ourselves. Played with 2 buddies, one of which had never played a full round before, so that made it good for him.

As for the course, it was in pretty decent shape. Few brown spots here and there, but what can you expect in fall?

Tee boxes were level enough and had plenty of grass.

Fairways were ok, with some thin spots here and there.

Greens were good, though slow.

Sand had some pebbles in it, but was serviceable.

All in all, a fun day with a great course for the price.

Played Jurupa Hills on Thursday afternoon. Walked on at about 2:30pm as a single and got right out. I went through the front nine in just over an hour. I really did not see another person on the golf course. I caught another single on #8 and followed him to make the turn. Then I got to #11......there was a group on the green, and group in the fairway, a group on the tee box, and the single in front of me was waiting. I ended up cutting across the course (long drive) and going back to #2 and playing the front nine again. I was done before 5:00.

As for the course, it is in pretty good shape. The greens were the brightest spot. They were in great shape, rolled smooth, and were decent speed. They were also very soft. The fairways were fine. I didn't have a bare lie all day. There really isn't much rough to speak of at this course. I did not hit a bunker shot all day so I cannot comment on them. The ones I looked at looked decent enough.

I have not played this course in a while so I forgot how narrow this course is. This course really requires accuracy off the tee. If you are having a rough driving day, you are going to have a hard time scoring on this course as most of your approach shots are going to be under or through trees. The tee shot on #9 looks like you have about 3 yards of landing area.

Go check out this course in you are in the area. It is a fun layout and is in decent shape right now. You can usually score some good deals on GolfNow for this course as well.

Played here this afternoon with Itslikeimsayin. We booked a 12:53 hot deal through GN for just $16. We started off behind a couple of horribly slow groups, so we had to skip a few holes and that definitely saved us a lot of time. Finished in a little over 3 hours.

Mark pretty well covered the conditions in his review. Overall pretty good. Tee boxes fine. Fairways had some bare spots, but mostly had good lush coverage. I always had great lies to hit from. Rough more inconsistent, but not much of a factor. I wasn't in any bunkers, so no comments there. Greens were very good, soft, receptive and rolling at medium speeds. They are only punching 1-2 greens at a time this fall, so only a minor nuisance on a few holes where the recent aerations showed.

I almost always enjoy this course. Good value, decent layout and solid conditions. I'll be back.
