I have not played the Palms here at Menifee Lakes in a long time - I now remember why. The difference between the Lakes and Palms is drastic. The Palms is not in very good condition. Fairways are bare and spotty, greens are soft and not two are alike in speed. I would suggest that management charge a lower rate for the Palms. The Lakes on the other side is soooo much better maintained - if you play Menifee Lakes, play the Lakes.

Course was in ok condition. Greens were good and rolled well. Semi fast. Greenside bunkers need sand. Course gets windy in the afternoon.
Here are my recommendations for playing some of the holes on this course. Stay away from the water. Hole # 5. If you can hit 290+ stay well left. Any drive down the middle will end up in the water. # 6 if the pin is blue. Play short. Anything long will be wet. Same on # 8. Long is wet. # 18 is a very tough tee shot with a tree blocking the right side off the tee forces a left to right shot. With OB just left of the cart path and a bunker on the right side. Good luck there. All in all a good day and fun course .Will play again.

Played here today 7/20. This is a semi-private venue with 2 courses, the Palms and the Lakes. I played the Palms. I paid $30.00 including cart. The heat (98-100) was the only reason to ride. This would be a great course to walk in cooler times. The course, overall, is flat, but has some sloping fairways, some tight landing areas, plenty of bunkers (good sand) and plenty of water. The fairways were OK, except for the first hole, which was muddy and patched. As I said the rest of the fairways were OK with good roll but they also had some bare spots and thin, hardpan lies. The first green was also the worst we experienced with some bare spots on the perimeter. All the greens were smooth and very receptive with good speed. Some of the greens have 3 distinct areas or levels that you would need to learn. The staff was friendly and helpful. All grass driving range, 2 huge practice putting greens that very closely mirror the on course greens. The pace of play was excellent, 3.5 hours, with time to practice some putts and chips once we finished a hole. Well worth the green fee and the drive. I’ll will definitely be back.

Course is pretty ratty overall but greens are superb!! $34.50 on golf now for sunday morning pretty superb also!! makes it very worth the trip!! Will try the lakes next.

Absolutely Terrible!!!!!!!

Customer Service: This used to be a very nice course even until the last time I played here, which was in December 2009. We had a 10:56 tee time and could not get on the first tee until after 12:00. There were 7 groups ahead of us, some of them probably without a tee time. The starter didn't do anything to ensure people get out on time. And, there were no marshals. We finally finished at 5pm.

Course: Worse than the customer service. The greens were terrible and slow. The fairways were dead and punched throughout. No "ground under repair" signs anywhere, which makes sense because the whole course was "under repair". The bunkers all had footprints in them, weren't raked (probably in days) and the sand was super compacted to give a very hard surface. The tee boxes were ok.

This was a very terrible experience on a golf course I have always enjoyed before today. Sad indeed!!
