Played 4/8/19; there's no better value in south riverside county...Played here for many years and its never been better. Less than a 4 hour round playing with my 10-15 handicapped foursome. Only issues is the grass gets thin and the ground is hard around the water areas, so caution is needed with the extended roll...along with some attention to sand levels in the traps, and conditions would be ideal. Tony the starter is a comedian and gets your round off to a good start.

Early off and done in about 3.5 hours. It would be nice if they had carts with windshields on the cool mornings. The tee boxes are level with the exception of a couple that are really sloped and need some work. The fairways have very good coverage. The rough was thick and about 3-4" which made it difficult to hit shots from. You were able to locate your balls today unlike some other courses where balls seem to disappear. The traps are all well maintained just in desperate need of sand!! The greens were in great shape rolling medium to semi quick and holding lines well. The staff is always great and rates reasonable for what is offered. Recommended.

Played a couple back on a very cold foggy morning in about four hours only after passing the slowest group in the world. The fog did not actually lift until the fifth or sixth hole. That made for an interesting front nine but surprisingly no worse scoring side than usual. My partners actually played better in the fog?? The tee boxes were all damp and level with good coverage. The fairways were very damp with pretty good coverage - only a few thin spots throughout the entire round. The rough is mostly short and thin but you will find thicker places on some holes. The traps were all well groomed BUT needed a SAND infusion worse than most local courses. Many rocks and extremely thin places in most of the traps even the green side bunkers. The greens were fairly soft and held shots good but many had numerous ball marks in need of repair! The greens are always consistently true and roll quicker here than most local courses. The green fees are reasonable for what is offered. Always recommended.

Early morning tee time Sunday morning to beat the heat. Check in and first tee were well organized with no issues. Tees were level and well kept. They are putting a lot of water on the course. Had many plugged balls in the fairway that would pick up mud and rob distance. Bunkers were soaked and couple still had standing water. Greens were smooth and soft with medium speed.
POP was a tad over four hours

Played the Palms side today with Hmtgolfguy for our rematch (last weeks match was a tie). Course was in great shape, Greens were in great shape with very receptive greens. Some slow and some fast. Fairway were in good shape with tee boxes in good shape too. Plenty of sand in the bunkers, Hmtgolfguy should know, he happened to be in just about every one. Twilight round right at three hours. The recent rain has been good for this eighteen here at Menifee Lakes. The tee boxes are all level but most were very dry and some even a little thin. The fairways are all very green with pretty consistent coverage throughout the entire round. The fairway grass was about the perfect length with a few tight lies but very good shape. The rough for the most part was still dormant and brown but not too thick to hit from. The traps here are well groomed BUT filled with DIRT and rocks - definitely the worst place to be here. The greens were great and held shots well. Most every green ran consistent with ALMOST no ball marks to be seen on any of them - GREAT! The water on this side comes into play on a few holes but the course in fairly forgiving for beginners and very flat and easy to walk if you so wish. The rates are very reasonable and with two eighteen hole courses pretty easy to get out. Recommended!!

Second group out and finished in a slow 4 1/2 hours with three twenty plus handicappers. The staff always great! The tee boxes were damp and in need of a trim but all level with great coverage. The fairways were also very wet with total coverage the entire round. The dampness did not allow for much roll even on shots in the fairways. The recent over seeding has definitely made the fairways nice and the rough super thick but very soggy. Shots that did not find the fairways were very difficult to locate and hit if you were able to find them. The traps were all groomed very nicely BUT in a definite NEED of sand - all were wet and mostly dirt!! The greens were fairly quick and rolled nicely. I did notice many ball marks in need of repair on most of the greens. The food is also above average in the restaurant. The greens fees are still very reasonable for the area especially considering the great shape the course is in right now.

The original eighteen here at Menifee Lakes continues to improve each time I play it. The tee boxes are very level but the par three holes had many divots that needed attention. The fairways were much improved with an occasional thin lie on several holes - but they seemed to be in better overall shape than the Lakes. If your ball finds the fairway it will get good roll. The rough was scarce and easy to hit from if you found yourself in it. The traps were thin, hard and damp still from the rains. The greens were a little quicker than the Lakes but not in the same shape - a few of them were splotchy with different colored grass(es)? There are many trees that had to be removed after the recent storms. The staff is truly excellent and very helpful at this course - a real asset. The rates are very reasonable and pace of play at four hours!

The staff here is fantastic with an extra fantastic for the starter today Tony. Big smile with a wonderful attitude. If you are not happy after a greeting from Tony, then you must all ready know you are shooting well over your handicap for the day. The course is on very good shape. I played Lakes a couple of weeks ago and gave it a good review with the exception of the bunkers. The bunkers on the Palms are much better. Maybe since two weeks ago the Lakes bunkers have been improved? I really like Menifee Lakes Country Club. Looks like they have done inprovements inside as well. To me, it use to have a sewer/old rundown sell to it. Not anymore. Great place. I hope they can keep this up.
