Played on 6/23/04. First time to this course. It has many beautiful holes. The traps are a little heavy and the fairways on the front nine needed to be cut. The greens were very good, but slower than they looked. It's a very interesting layout. It's great to play in the open spaces without houses, but the course still has a lot of tight holes. This is certainly worth the trip to Riverside. It's only 45 minutes from Irvine. You can get a $50 coupon from golfq.com.

Played 6/16. The course is in the best condition I've seen it since it opened. The greens are getting better as they mature. You can tell the roots are growing deeper. The ball holds better coming in these days. My only complaint about the course is the sand traps. They are rock hard only about an inch below the sand. They really need to take a look at fixing these. Even with the traps, the course is a great value and a lot of fun to play.

Great golf course to play and the panoramic veiw was great on some of the holes played. Its a fun course to play and enjoy with your playing partners. But one thing that needs attention is the sand traps, more sand put in and made puffy. Worth the money with discount on friday, saturday and sunday. The greens were hard to read at times, I like that. Will play it again.

Awsome golf course probably one of the best layouts I've played, and I've played quite a few. Very fair. Well worth the effort/drive. Will play again!!!!

Played twilight yesterday and the greens were far from terrible and probably in best shape I’ve seen them this year. Birdie “The Rock” with a smooth 4-iron to about 10 feet and canned the putt! This was my fifth time playing Oak Quarry and can’t say enough good things about the course. The visuals are amazing! Every holes has it’s own personality. Just a great course worth every penny.

The course was in good shape, exept for the greens. They are terrible right now and are not worth paying for. I would wait at least a 2 weeks. Unless you like to tribble your putts like Kobe! I liked ... Continue »

I liked the golf course, the views are breath taking and what a cool design of an old rock quarry. Just got a bad day to play not worth my drive.

Played May 1st, the day my handicap index went up a full point. Still didn't help....I lost $20.00. It wasn't the course's fault. Oak Quarry is a real diamond in the rough. It's hard to determine if the guy that looked at the land where Oak Quarry is carved out is certifiably crazy or not, but - it certainly took some imagination to fit in all of the holes out there.

A agree with what another poster said, it's not that difficult of a track. The par-fours are not overly long, and the par-fives derinitely have some reward if you are willing to risk the big shot. The problems come if you are not in the fairway. Or in one of the many Oak Quarry bunkers....which seem to have been placed in exactly the right places to qualify me personally for some sort of sand-trap shot record!

As for the gentleman who said he "scrounged around" on the course for an extra ball to finish the round - a word to the wise for all: If you put your ball out in the weeds or up on a hillside....let it lie there. Especially with Summer approaching. That place is rattlesnake central - and - the baby ones may not have their rattles yet, but are just as deadly. If you feel that you just HAVE TO risk your life to retrieve that brand new Pro-V 1 that you just put on the hill....be smart....take your three-iron with you for snake protection. They are out there, (we saw 'em!) - and unless you are a degreed herpetologist and know your garter-snakes from your California Diamondback - stay out of the weeds!!

Greens were nice, fairways were lush, rough was not too long, but long enough that you will want to stay out of it.

Oak Quarry is fast becoming my number one choice for public golf in So. Cal.
