It's 91 miles to go play this course for me, living in Hermosa but it's worth it 3/4 times a year.
What a wonderful test of golf. Fair but demanding and glorious on the eye. Intimate, sculpted, flows easily and well, interesting holes, well guarded greens that run very true.
You can score well here but if you bite off too much or get too cocky - watch out. It's a thinking course no doubt.
And the staff are just so nice and very professional.
Added bonus is a grass practice range.
And all that for $33 with your birdie card. $58 for 36. What a bargain. Love this place.
Just wish it was 50 miles closer! Still, never mind.

This place is definitely the jewel of Inland Empire golf. Other than the first two holes being very similar to each other, the rest of the course is one unique hole after another. Hit it in the fairway and your chances of scoring well are very strong. Miss the fairways and troubles/high scores await.
Fairways, rough and tee boxes were all almost perfect. The greens were also in excellent shape, but a little slow. (Which makes scoring much easier, because if these babies were fast we'd all be in trouble.) The bunkers were firm and consistent.
The staff was also very good with Joshua in the pro shop leading the way. Somehow, our tee times got "misplaced", but he came through like a champ and got us off right on time.
All-in-all, a great course well-worth the trip to Beaumont.

Enjoyed playing on June 30, 2010 in late afternoon. Fairways in great shape, greens soft and true but several were really bumpy with footprints. Back nine rolled faster than front nine. Bunkers crusty and thin, could use more sand. Holes cut with sharp edges but some margins had not been tamped down when they were set. Water coolers pulled from course around 5 pm so plan ahead.

played here 4/21 for the first time. the course is awesome. every hole is a good golf hole. the layout is very enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend Oak Valley to high handicappers at all. There is a lot of places to get into trouble. It rained a bit so I don't think they got to cut the greens in the morning. They ran pretty true but not the speed we expected. The bunkers were still playable even with the rain. This is a must play if you live in the area.

Played for the 1st time Friday after 11am for a twilight rate of $45 which is a great deal. The clubhouse is small and has a muni feel but the course is championship caliber. Oak Valley is long (6400 yds from whites, 7000 yds from blues) and difficult. The first few holes start you off gently and then the course starts to bare it's teeth. Most of the fairways have generous landing areas but the greens are usually well protected with multiple tiers. The greens run true and are lightning fast but they are very firm. You must make a quality approach shot to stay on the greens. And if you land on the wrong tier of the green it can be difficult to two putt because of the severe undulations.

Oak Valley has a great layout and some of the holes on the back 9 have great views of the San Gorgonio Moutains. Pace of play was very good (4 hours) and the customer service was friendly. I recommend Oak Valley but high handcaps might want to avoid.

Played here on 1/1. Only 20 golfers out that day, so pace was fantastic. Tough course, especially with the wind. Good layout, that is well maintained. Greens were very fast and very hard. Bunkers had too little sand, but that is not unusual when a course gets a lot of wind. Rate on New Year's was only $60 so I felt this course was a relative bargain. If you are in the area it is worth playing here.

What a strange facility! When you drive into their parking lot, it screams ghetto muni track. Their clubhouse is average at best and quite a few of the tee boxes were pretty hacked up with weeds growing on them. Everything else about it was top notch though. The fairways were in great shape as well as the bunkers. The course had actual rough, which was extremely contrasting compared to the low penalizing resort type conditions we were playing the past several rounds. The greens were actually quite soft but they were also by far the fastest greens we played. They were also next to impossible to read, at least for me. We played the whole round without waiting for or holding up another golfer. Super tough course.
