Played on Sunday 10-9. Have played Oak Valley many times and have never seen it this lush. this lushness I"m sure was due to the overseeding and closure of the course a few months ago. The teeboxes and rough was still growing out, so finding a good spot for your tee shots was a little difficult. as for the rough, sometimes finding your ball was a challenge, and depending how far you were from the green, all you could hit out of there was a wedge. The greens were in great shape, very smooth. Fairways needing cutting, but good lies were there to be found. All in All a great course, challenging, even from the white tees and I will continue to go back there and play. btw, the pace of play 4:15 on a Sunday morning was awesome.

This is an update on a beautiful course that really needs no introduction. Because of the quality of this course, I am holding it to a higher standard the the typical course.

This is an update on a beautiful course that really needs no introduction. Because of the quality of this course, I am holding it to a higher standard the the typical course.

I played this course on 10/5 as a twosome. It has been almost 4 wks since overseeding and aeration of the greens. It is no longer cart path only. Everything is green and lush, but not quite up to pristine conditions. They are getting this course ready for Stage 1 Qualifiers at the end of the month.

Tee Box- Pretty shaggy throughout
Fairway- For the most part, decent. I think it was shaggy and could definitely use a trim.
Rough- This was the toughest part of the course. They are letting it grow out and it really eats up your ball and decelerates your clubs quite a bit.
Bunker- Decent, but wet from the weather
Green- This aspect wasn't quite up to typical Oak Valley standars. Many of the greens were still bumpy and the speed was not quite there. I overheard them talking about getting it to a 12 over the next week or so.

Overall, still one of the best course in our area and in a lot better conditions than most others.

We teed off and followed a threesome but never really got held up. the course was in decent shape. There were some brown spots in the fairways and some dried up patches on the greens. The worse green was #10. But this should all be fixed with reseeding. Finished the round in 3.5hrs as a twosome.

My only drawback is some of the yardage markers are hard to spot and some are beat up. Maybe buying the yardage book is the way to go. Will be back when I head to the desert

We teed off at 8AM and were done at 11:30. This course never changes, it just gets better. This is old style golf. No GPS in the cart but plenty of yardage markers in the fairways. No tricky holes, just good ones. Plenty of cold water on the course for those hot days and a cooler on the cart. From the great service in the clubhouse; on the range; starter and beverage cart I have not found many courses in S CA that do it any better. This course knows and understands what golfers are looking for. I really like the fact that they provide range balls for you as part of the fee. We did not find anything wrong with Oak Valley, not that we were looking but if we were, we would not have found any problems. Tees; fairways; greens are in top shape. Greens roll true, straight and fast. Fairways provide good roll and greens hold the shots. Can't say how the bunkers are because we were never in one (told you the course was in great shape). Even the water in the ponds is clean (nope them either). Conveniently located (2 minutes) off the 10 freeway at Oak Valley Pkwy. The menu in the clubhouse is very good, including an Asian assortment of foods and the prices are very good. If you have not played Oak Valley and are looking for a great place to play, then get a tee time. 7003 yards from the Blue and 6372 from the Whites. If you are disappointed then it is your own fault and not the golf course.

Played here on 8/21 with a 6:30am tee time and was joined by another single. I love this course!! It is a straight forward test of golf. Hit the fairways and greens and have a shot a a great score. Miss the fairway and trouble starts. It had been at least 8 years since i have been here and my fond memories did not let me down. Course was in great shape, a little wet as we were chasing the sprinklers. the fairways were in very good shape, bunkers looked nice, rough was brutal and the greens were some of the best and truest I have ever played. They sped up as the sun got higher. Played in 3hrs 15mins.
The staff were very friendly also. I won't wait 8 weeks, let alone 8 years, to come back next time.

This is a review for a round on Sun JULY 24. This was an early morning round. In my view, this is the best all-around public golf facility for serious golfers in SoCal. First, the price is reasonable. Second, there isn't any attitude from the staff here - the customer service is consistent, friendly, and competent. The starter knows what he is doing, water buckets on the course are filled, the grill staff is friendly, the modest clubhouse is kept clean and the food is very solid. Third, the conditioning is top notch - I've played a lot of rounds here and I really can't remember a time where the course was shaggy. The facility hosts top amateur and pro events - they know what they're doing. Fourth, the course design and hole variety is terrific. It's a fun course; perhaps not for a beginner, but if you're a serious golfer, this is the place to hone your game. It worked for Yani Tseng. An added bonus is that the routing gives almost every hole complete solitude; you're not seeing too many other golfers.
