Greens are tough, lots of breaks, fairways are Ok,, bunkers soft, played very hard for us, we havent been here for awhile and it showed. We forgot some of the tricks to the place. I would advise everyone that is close to play this track with new and improved rates. The competition has caused them to lower rates but conditions are excellent...

great conditions, greens/traps ( i was in way too many) and fairways....very challenging, great deals for this course in southland golf magazine...go play!!!

This course has really improved since I last played here 5 years ago. I would love to play it again but it is just too far. There are many beautifully landscaped areas on the course. I had to play from the blue markers today. I wish they would not move them soo far forward. I have a lot of respect for courses that keep their tee markers in the vicinity of where they are supposed to be. Despite this, the course was more enjoyable than it used to be.

We had a tee time at 12:48 and got out at about 12:30 on a saturday, we finished at 4:45, not a bad round. I would come back and play here again for sure

Played on 01/17 buddy and I have birthday during same week so free took the free birthday round. Before reviewing the course I must mention cart fee policies at courses. I remember when a cart fee was just that, a fee to rent the cart. Nowadays it is not a cart fee but a seat fee. If I ride alone let's say the cart fee is $15.00, so why if two golfers share a $15.00 cart do both have to pay $15.00 making cart rental fee twice as much. It used to be a cart fee was listed and if two players were to share a cart they each paid 1/2 the cart fee rate. Is it just me or does chap everybody's hide. Anyway the course is a great layout, though all the housing has taken a lot of the character away from the place. The holes are still quite challenging yet very fair, sort of. The hole layouts are good but the greens are super hard to read and get any kind of feel for how they break. The greens were smooth and medium fast. The fairways are almost unplayable, so dormant they produce dust clouds when hit off. You find yourself aiming tee shots toward rough were there is grass to hit from. Good course not worth $70.00 during week and no senior rate. Play Cross Creek for less money, get free range balls and enjoy a totally secluded golf course.

Played 12/22...I've played this course about half a dozen times. It's a great test of golf. But, I wouldn't go back in the winter. We had a two hour frost delay. They send us out in shotgun format, which is fine, and pace of play was fine, BUT, beware their stated FROST DELAY POLICY (it's a big printout framed on the counter by the starter). It basically says, they can't guarantee you 18 holes if there is a frost delay. So, let's say they start you on #7. You play through to #18, then head to #1 to play #1-6. They'll "try" and squeeze you in amongst the groups teeing off on #1. Try is the operative word. If they can't squeeze you in, you get a voucher for, get this, 9 holes! I dunno, I understand that the weather isn't under their control, but I'd think they'd accomodate those there first instead of those who come later. We got in 18 holes, no problem, but I would have been very upset if they couldn't "squeeze us in" to complete a whole round.
Conditions: Greens immaculate; traps well maintained; tee boxes fine; fairways dormant, but playable. I don't think it's worth full price in the winter. A little ragged. Definitely not worth $90 on a weekend. I'd say $60 and $35 would be reasonable in the winter (weekend/weekday). I'll go back on my birthday and play it for free.

5 hr round, had a $48 web special, regular $ is $70. Ya gotta be nuts to spend $70 for this place in the area of several other just as good venues for less $. Redhawk is in great shape, good to great greens, fast, tricky, nasty,, just how we like them. New clubhouse is really nice, but so what? We really dont like having to pay for stuff we dont use,, soooo we dont. Week day seniors are NOT wanted here, no break, its OK we have lots of choices. But,, its in great shape and it is worth $48 once in awhile. When Pachenga is up and running they will change their ways.Staff was very nice.

Played Redhawk on 10/03, first time there in 7 years. They have done a very nice job in updating the facility. Course is in overall good shape, with an occassional spotty patches in the fairway or rough. Greens and tees are very nice.

Only negative was the long walk to and from the parking lot. There was supposed to be a cart and a bag drop, however I didn't see any staff there either before or after the round.
