Played 11.7.06 - Course is healing from overseeding and aeration and should be in very good condition soon. This place has become my home course and have been playing on a regular basis for about a year and a half. Staff is still top notch from pro shop to cart attendents.

Great layout, a few tricked up holes but,,, the only real negative was the pace of play; I've had surgeries that did not take as long...

Played here on 10/14. The course was in pretty good shape. The greens were a little bumpy and shaggy as they were going to be punched the following week. The fairways were not very lush as they were only recently overseeded. Regardless, this is a great course to play. It was the first time for my foursome. Consequently, several people wanted to play from the white tees. Unfortunately, these tees seemed to bring a lot of trouble into play for me. I was blasting the ball over the fairway bunkers, only to find a landing area that was 10 yards wide, or water, or brush. I would have had a much better round from the blue tees.

The tract is beautiful. The quarry setting is truely unique. I loved juat about every hole. The downhill par 3 with the water to the left is absolutely beautiful. The pin placements were very tough this particular day. This, also contributed to my 90 which is about 5 strokes over my average. I wouldn't let these nit picky comments deter you from heading out to Oak Quarry. The staff was great and the food at the clubhouse was just as good as the golf course.

I strongly recommend this course. I know I'll make the 90 mile drive from San Diego County to take in the beauty of Oak Quarry.

Played yesterday, Oct 4th. Have not played here since it was scorching hot, did not know if the conditions would be poor due to the planned overseeding at the end of the month. The course hardly needs to do much to improve the fairways, they were in great shape, the greens were great, except for the lazy boneheads that dont repair their ball marks. (remember, fix your own, plus one more) Got a deal via golfnow.com A great experience with always friendly staff to help you out. Go before they close for the overseeding.

What can I say? I always have great luck very near where I grew up. I was a young lad when we rode our bicycles through the dry brush and dirt paths in the Jurupa Hills when Sierra avenue didn't cut through. We fished the water we called "lost lake" long before the golf course opened.

It was beautiful on Monday, September 18 at 7 AM, blue skies, a moderate temperature most of the morning and most importantly for here, NO WIND. My partner and I joined two gentlemen for our round. As usual with Oak Quarry, the pace was exceptional. The group in front had a nice cushion and we weren't pushed by anybody except maybe on one par 3. I guess I guess I don't have to be the first group off when we play here, though it's nice to get done in a little over three hours.

Aside from the recurring problem of some barren bunkers, the only other negatives here usually include overwatering and some bumpy greens. Not this time. The fairways were very even and the greens are about as healthy as I've seen recently, sans a few of them that are diseased around the perimeter, particularly in front of the 6th hole. Noticably, the first green, which is usually the only one that is pockmarked severely, was rolling nicely, lush by it's own standard. As a whole the greens are pretty nice. Not excellent like when the course opened, but very healthy and consistently green. The funny patterns that were omnipresent for a while are gone.

The fairways are in great shape, obviously on a strict mowing schedule. Again, this is the norm but they sometimes get carried away with the watering and it can get mushy. Drives were maximized today and it's a good thing because it was playing very long with the blue tee boxes placed way back.

Consistency is the name of the game here in terms of customer service. The reality is for $50 this is a great deal. As anyone who grew up in Fontana knows, CHECK THE WEATHER CONDITIONS before you play this course. That helps most of the time but the wind can come from nowhere but moreso as the late afternoon approaches. I have years of experience growing up just north of the I-10. As many have noted the wind can be ridiculous at "The Rock."

On this day all I needed was my luck to translate into my game. Then I'd have nirvana.

Played 9/16. 1 word: WINDY! The starter said to us at the beginning of the round that the Santa Ana winds were expected. He failed to mention that the winds were upgraded to hurricane strength! Our putts were breaking due to the wind. It was mind numbing putting the ball. Banana balls were evident everywhere. Very nice course...great surroundings...you will lose all words to describe what you see on the 14th tee...just amazing! But the wind just killed the whole day. Check the weather forecast before coming out unless you like playing in wind...not normal everyday wind...but wind so strong you can barely stand still sometimes. The canyons and mountains really get the wind whipping.

I like this course but it needs a little TLC which they are working on. This easily could be a 8.5 course when it recovers. Right now playing a soft 7.5ish. Good course great customer service.

Very fun course with plenty of challenging shots. The surrounding views and hillsides are pretty cool. First class facility. The day I played (8-3-06) the fairways were in excellent shape and the rough was definitely a challenge (like it should be). The only complaint I (and my playing partners) had were the greens.... -very bumpy! The bunkers were very firm in the bottoms, but once you knew that you could play out of them fairly easily.

Overall course was in good condition. Slightly overwatered. If the course was not soo far away, I would play there again.
