Played on 4/9/25. They told us the greens had been punched a month ago and should be in good shape. They were 80% back. Had not been cut nor rolled, back 9 was thick, lush, almost shaggy, slow. Needed a cut and a real roll to flatten them out like they would normally. We expected better. Just wish they would tell people the truth, instead of enticing people to come play and get them disappointed so they don't get negative feedback, what it is about that is a problem for golf courses. It's not good business, because we will report it to everyone!
Rest of course is good. Fairways are nice. There is some rough but not too penal, they had recently cut away some of the more tall winter grasses so that made it easier.
Sand is still that clumpy type so it can get crusty in spots but nor too hard to play out of.
POP was just at 5, which was fine as there was a big event in front of us that we only caught around the 16th hole, which was not too bad.

Played yesterday. Course was busy due to CIF Tournament on the South Course.

Played yesterday. Course was busy due to CIF Tournament on the South Course.

It has been approximately a month since the greens were aerated. They were still a little bumpy. The rest of the course was damp due to watering. Tee boxes were being repaired and there were some temporary tee boxes in several holes. POP was just slightly over 4 hours.

Played today early AM. Cold/windy and damp conditions. Not ideal golfing weather for this time of the year. Are we still living in CA? Needless to say the weather conditions made an already long cours... Continue »

Played today early AM. Cold/windy and damp conditions. Not ideal golfing weather for this time of the year. Are we still living in CA? Needless to say the weather conditions made an already long course play even longer. The course conditions were very good. Tee boxes were all clean and no issues. Fairways had good coverage and good lies and even decent roll out. Bunkers played very well. Not much rough to deal with and most of it playble. Greens were in nice shape devoid of divots and chipped and putted good all round. Check in was good but the starters could use some customer service manners. I felt that both of them were not the most customer friendly people I have met in that position. Glad we played early as the course was packed upon our finish. I will look for warmer weather for my return.

Played Los Serranos North with my monthly golf group and was pleasantly surprised by the course after having only played it once before. I always hear how much better the South course is, but I've played that one numerous times and I must say that I think I actually might prefer the North course now - just a personal preference and of course subject to change.

We caught a pretty nice afternoon with some spotted sunshine in between the clouds but generally pleasant and played with two groups (eight players) from the white tees as is customary. We had a 10:20am tee time with carts and paid around $90.

Greens were definitely a little bumpy but nothing too awful. They're actually more tricky than I remember with a number of them having multiple tiers and just a lot of quirky angles. They're also quite small on a number of holes, so approach accuracy is vital. The fairways are in pretty good shape depending on the hole but there were definitely some soggy/muddy areas still after the recent rains. Bunkers were a little on the thin side (and moist) so that made most bunkers shots difficult until the sun was out and dried them out a bit. Rough had been allowed to grow a bit so it was quite high and penal.

Layout is fun with a lot of elevations but nothing too overwhelming. I quite enjoyed it and there are some really nice holes along the way that I simply forgot about from my previous outing here. Would definitely recommend a day out at the North course as long as you keep your expectations for prime-shape golf in check and just want a fun day out at a nice facility.

We caught the first time out this AM. I have not played here since 2018. And yes the prices have gone way up and are now $62 for Sr and cart. No doubt having a players card for this place would be worth it. We found the course to be in great shape. No tee box issues. Fairways have great coverage and good lies but early AM the roll out is very limited with the wet/damp fairways. There is virtually no rough anywhere and what is there is playable. Traps were being cleaned in front of us and they played nice and there are many of them.
I personally had forgotten how long this course plays with the many elevation changes and the small greens. And speaking of the small greens. They are fast and firm. I never had one divot from any of my shots but I had a lot of fast putts. They have taken out the water on # 10 and # 17 on the course and I personally thing that that ruined those nice short par 3's. Customer service was fast and pleasant in the shop and from the starter as well. I really like this course and I will come back but will wait till spring time when it is warmer and drier for my return. But I would be fairly certain the course would play great later in the day and temperatures being higher if one prefers to play that time of the day.

Played Saturday just before 7:00 am as a single on a time I booked online the night before. I joined three walking regulars. It was pricey ($95 with cart) but I wanted some certainty rather than showing up somewhere and getting on the list. It misted almost all the way there and played in a mist/dribble most of the round. That said, played in 3:50 and enjoyed the round.

The course is in pretty good shape. The rough was up more than I recall especially for early September. Being wet also, the course played longer than expected. The fairways were decent, some lesser spots which seemed from a close cut on the Kikuyu grass. The greens rolled medium speed and were in good shape. One aspect I did not expect was the amount of sand in the bunkers. There has been little sand in my experience. One regular was grumbling that usually there was none and now there is too much! A few balls plugged in them but it was obvious the course has worked to turn a negative into a positive. The tee boxes were just okay with some unlevel areas I had to work around.

Overall, a positive experience. Recommended.

Played on wednesday. The course is very green due to all the rain. Fairways are the best I've seen it in awhile. Rough is pretty thick and you have to power through yo get your ball out. Greens were aerated in early March. No visible holes but still had sand. Balls held and rolled true at a medium speed. POP was 4.5 hours.

Played today. POP was around 4.5 hours due to 2 groups in front. Marshall did not push them along.

Greens were aerated close to 4 weeks ago. Aeration holes are no longer visible and no sand except for the #17 green. Greens are still slightly bumpy. And some greens have GUR that are roped off.

Talk about disappointment. It’s $90 to play Los Serranos North and the conditions are less than ideal. The course is in the typical late summer condition of spotty grass and over saturated muddy areas... Continue »

Talk about disappointment. It’s $90 to play Los Serranos North and the conditions are less than ideal. The course is in the typical late summer condition of spotty grass and over saturated muddy areas. The greens are a mess akin to putting on a waffle or maybe the surface of the moon. Several greens sport burnt areas that are light on grass. Los Serranos is also a victim of the ball mark epidemic that has seemingly over taken the game. I don’t know when golfers stopped fixing ball marks but it’s out of control. Bunkers are rock hard with chiseled grooves from attempted power raking. Several bunkers held standing water making them officially unplayable. Still a very fun layout, but painfully over priced for the condition of the course.
