Played Fri Oct 2nd at 7:08. Check in was very slow. Putting green and driving range are open. Course was very wet but in good shape, they were preparing for this latest heat wave. Tee boxes and fairways good, rough a little long and you had to hunt for the ball, not in any bunkers so no comment ,greens receptive, always had a ball mark to repair. They rolled good, a bit fast especially on down hill putts. We could not take cart to the cars because they ran out of carts, so not sure about 2 per cart. We saw no one in front of us and no one behind us. POP was 355. This is a nice course and I like the layout, but I think $55 is over priced.

Played here 9/6/20 with a 6:30 am tee time. Temperatures were supposed to reach 117 today so wanted to get out before we died. When we tee'd off it was 82 degrees and by hole 9 it was 97. Pace of play was good at 4 hours for our foursome. Never had to wait since they put 2 twosomes in front of us and there was no one waiting behind us so we played ready golf to make sure if someone did come from behind they wouldnt have to wait in the heat. Course is VERY green despite being so hot and dry outside. Staff was very friendly and starter did a great job getting people out on time and moving groups through.

Greens- 9/10 started slow and sped up as temperatures went up rolled true
fairways- 10/10- perfect coverage, no bare spots and green everywhere
rough- 7/10- green but in some areas a little too long where you would lose your ball and not be able to see it.
Tee boxes- 8/10- most were level and flat, a few had some damage on them #13 needs to be fixed and repaired for the score to go up to a 9/10 here. 13 was real bad.
Sand- Only in one trap and it was fluffy (hole 6 par 3)
Water- clean and clear but on hole 9 it stunk a little bit.

Great course and we paid $87. A little steep but it was labor day weekend. This is a $60-$75 max course. If you're paying over $75 you should look elsewhere for a better deal. Its a top tier course but runner up to oak quarry which is only 5 miles south of it. ALWAYS RECOMMEND THIS COURSE THOUGH!

Got there early and hit balls. Mats today, clean range balls and a beautiful warm morning.

Teed off at 1023, me and my partner paired with a couple of randos.

Course was in good condition but lots of maintenance crew out today.

Cart path only on a couple of holes and lots of seeding, feeding and dirt dropping through out
the course and the day. We saw guys on a lot of holes doing their thing.

Fairways were good but for sure dirt and seed on a few holes.

Rough was fine and a nice change of pace from the Bell design city courses.

Sand Traps, they were hit and miss. A couple were raked or at least sorta raked but a couple
of others had the dried sand castle effect. On 18 fairway bunker it was like a hard pack gravel.
Should have done a full Glamis and made some Brodies in there since they sure as sh-t couldn't rake it.

Greens were nice and rolly all day. they did have some texture but were still pretty smooth. Looked like maybe an old punch from a month ago. The greens were good though.

Super fun course layout and for 59 bucks its a nice change from some of the other places I've been playing but the traps should be better for the cost of this course.

For sure play here but if that sand stays this way bring a beach ball and a pail and have a great time with the foot sand castles.

Played here 8/6 with a 7:00 tee time. We were off right on time and finished in just under 4 hours. Check in at the starter and he keeps everyone moving and on time. Typical covid precautions masks around the clubhouse,putting green closed ,no rakes or sand bottles. Tee boxes are in good shape with good coverage and mostly level. The fairways are great now with a nice cushion of bermuda. There are a couple of areas in the fairways that looks like they lost some coverage and they are plugging the areas to bring them back.These don't effect play too much. The rough is thin in places and longer around the greens but still ok to play from. I was only in one fairway bunker and it was damp and compacted. The greenside bunkers looked to have more sand. The greens are in excellent shape. They started out a little wet and slow but as the sun came out the speed increased. They held shots well and had very few ball marks. We saw the cart 3 or 4 times today and the marshal a couple of times.

Sorry for the late review. Played on Thursday, July 2. Had a 7:30 tee time and went off right on time. Check in was easy and covid precations were in place. It first come first serve on the carts allowing singles to take carts it desired. Looked like most groups had 4 carts. The starter said that he was going to run out by noon. He was also upset that people that traveled to the course together were still taking seperate carts.
Conditions:
Tees - mostly good shape and not difficult to find a good teeing spot.
Fairways - wet from morning dew and were being mowed during the round which caused clumps of grass everywhere. by the time the ball came to rest, it looked like an old ladys slippers, big and fuzzy. There is a lot of bare spots in the fairways (like #3). Should be marked GUR but they are not. Majority of the fairways have nice coverage and grass.
Rough - thick and can be penal.
Bunkers - Too much fluffy sand. The ball was either plugged or a fried egg lie. Did not notice the one sign near the bathrooms saying that you can lift and place the balls in the bunkers. Feet prints was going to be a problem in the later rounds. The were raked nice for the earlier rounds.
Greens - Nice medium speed roll and only a few ball marks to be found. The breaks were odd and my group could not get used to it as they only broke about half of what it looked like. They also played slower than they looked.
I like the layout of this course and it very fun. I will be back and will look for deals. The only way to book online is on Golfnow.

Played this morning. Had two foursome times to get together with friends for some birdies and skins. The course is in great shape right now. Perfect weather, no wind and the scores reflected as much. Greens were true, although the pins were in some treacherous spots. I was in two green side bunkers that were raked with nice sand. The only slight complaint is, I wish more players repaired their ball mark on the greens. POP 4 hours. I normally play the majority of my golf on city muni courses in LA, but I must say it was nice chipping out of two inch rye grass than the normal Kikuyu crab grass I usually stick a wedge in nearer home. This is one of my favorite Ted Robinson courses in SoCal.

Played here 5/23/20 with a 3:08 pm tee time. Played with best friend and got paired with another twosome. The other twosome were extremely slow golfers so after hole 10 we skipped 11 and went on to finish in 4 hours. Saw the cart girl 3 times. Staff was friendly. Ordered a hot dog and fries for $6 which was a great deal and very good. Pro-shop is closed due to COVID-19.
COURSE CONDITIONS:
Greens- 9/10 would have been a 10 but all approach shots were bouncing all over it. Didnt hold balls well. Rolled true and was in amazing condition but wouldnt hold an approach for the life of u!
Fairways- 10/10 great coverage, green and lush, very few divots.
Rough- 7/10 a little choppy in some areas and longer in others. large branches on the ground etc
sand- 8/10 mostly fluffy and smooth. Was in 2 traps and both seemed fine.
Tee Boxes- 9/10- All were level and flat with good coverage with the exception of holes 5 &6
Water- did not smell was clear and clean and able to see to the bottom.

Played here on Tues. 5-5. You must book online thru golf now which adds a fee of $2.49 so the weekday rate comes to $60.49 which is a little much for this course but what are you to do if you want to play. You have to bring a printed copy of your receipt (no cell phone) and a waiver you need to sign.

Everything went smooth at check in with the starter and you were assigned a single rider cart. You can do two riders if you choose. I was paired with a father and son and we went off right on time (7:08 tee time) We finished in right at 4 hours.

The course was in very good shape. Tee boxes mostly level with not many divots except for the par three's.
Fairways are lush with very good coverage and I never had a bad lie in them. The rough is about 2" and thick but very playable.
I was not in a bunker but my playing partners hit several and said they were in good shape with plenty of sand.
The greens while somewhat hard they held shots well but were on the slow side.
The range is open but the practice green is closed and the snack bar is closed. They did have a cart going around but we did'nt see it until #16.
Overall a good place to play right now. Well organized check in and good conditions.

Played Sierra Lakes at 10:30 Friday 3/20/20, with Vic, and friends Matt and Steve. Absolute great March conditions, 65 degrees, no winds and high overcast clouds. Pleasure to witness Matt hit the '$helter n pl@ce' out of the ball...he had at least 4 drives over 300 yds down the middle! We observed covid-19 practices by leaving flag in cup, not touching each other's clubs, and elbow pumps for aloha's and congrats for good shots. Read that the greens were punched in early March with dime sized sand filled holes...now, those sand filled holes are no bigger than the head of a tee. Practice green not aerated, but not that much different in initial and breaking speeds from the course greens.
Parking lot was 1/2 full when we arrived, and 3/4 full when we left. Snack bar open, no beverage cart and no chairs anywhere. Starter asked us If we would let two singles form a twosome and start before us...we agreed and glad we did. They were good and fast, we never pushed them and the group behind us rarely pushed us.

Tees, in good shape for early spring, 7 out of 10, for mostly level, mowed and maintained boxes.

Fairways, this is March in IE, So Cal. So, they were decent for their emergence from dormancy at this time of year. Some mixed bag and some acne, but it would give if you needed to put a divot through any of it. 6 out of 10.

Rough, the rough here was at acceptable depth and density for most. I found some of the deepest, on the front nine. 7 out of 10.

Traps, no standing H2O...I was not in any today. Vic, Matt and Steve found beach all day long, all seemed very playable! 7 out of 10 rating.

AARG(Areas ARound Greens), within 20 yards, were green and longer than winter...adjust accordingly for chips, flops and pitches. 7 out of 10.

Greens, these were mowed tight, and rolled consistently med/med. My total putts today were only 3 more than my summer average of 34, certainly not that bad for 2 1/2 weeks after punching. 6 out of 10.

Spend way more time on the practice green right now, especially lots of variety putts more than 25'...it pays off. Eat more fruit and veggies, stay healthy to putt another day!
