Pleasantly surprised. First time golfing at Bonita and it was in great shape. Walked on as a single, got right off at 1pm, 17$ to walk. Course was in great shape, fairways were awesome, greens were real nice, getting ready to aerate next week, they aerated the tee boxes it looked like maybe a week ago, but they were very playable. Kirk in the pro shop was real friendly. Not a very difficult course, but lots of OB and I can see how it could bite you if you're not straight. Overall I had an awesome time and will be back.

Headed over to Bonita later in the day yesterday. Walked on around 3pm and was teeing off a few minutes later. $31 with cart. It was nice early as I was behind two singles and the pace was great for the first 6 holes. Then we hit the "wall" and it was slow going after that. One of the singles left after 9 and another was absorbed by one of the groups ahead, so I just hung back and played by myself. As slow as it felt at the end of a long day, it was still a great overall pace of 3.5 hours.

One of the reasons I chose to squeeze this round in yesterday was because of the last review. parman18 sums it up pretty well. This was my first time here, so I can't compare to previous experiences, but the course was in excellent shape overall. The fairways were almost perfect with lush grass, tight cuts and beautiful lies throughout. The rough a bit spotty the further you stray from fairways, but primary cut was pretty nice throughout the course. Not deep or penal at all. The greens did have plenty of unrepaired marks being late in the day, but were mostly quite nice. Throughout the fairways and rough, there were occasional small "dead" patches that were just bare dirt. That's the only thing keeping me from giving the fairways a perfect "10" rating, but those spots were very few and far between. The sand traps did get a "10," though, as they were filled with resort-quality soft white sand. Some tee boxes had been aerated and were a bit chewed up, but not too bothersome.

I wasn't too blown away by the layout itself, but it's a solid track with a pretty good mix of holes. Nice tree-lined course surrounded by some ranch properties (smells included at times). Very flat with the exception of the elevated tee on 11. Enjoyable overall. Reasonably priced. And very good conditions right now! Unfortunately, looks like they'll be aerating the greens next week. Hopefully the fairways will continue to be this nice for awhile.

Played 6/16 11 am tourney. P.O.P was just a little over 4 hrs. Course is in great shape overall. Fairway's green and fairly lush with a few brown/burnt/thin areas mixed in but not real bad in anyway.... Continue »

Played 6/16 11 am tourney. P.O.P was just a little over 4 hrs. Course is in great shape overall. Fairway's green and fairly lush with a few brown/burnt/thin areas mixed in but not real bad in anyway. Greens where great. Med. pace with little to no marks. Only found one trap and it was soft, but many looked a little hard packed. Saw cart girl once, but there is a snack shack in the back nine area. A fun old fashion course.

We played today Thursday, 5-9-13, 9:30 tee time, played in about 4:30 hr.

That was the good news, the bad news was they were punching the greens and they did not say anything about that when we made our starting time and they still charged there full rate of $40.00 to ride, not a good deal at all for this course.
So, if you play Bonita, don't forget to ask, because they will not tell you.

Played here yesterday with my dad for Father's Day weekend. Got out at 5:38am. Were the first group out and finished in under 4 hours walking. We were able to get a cart on the back nine for only 6 bucks per person. The course was in pretty good shape. The fairways were not dry or spotty, the greens were still recovering from being punched, but were smooth for the most part. This course is pretty simple, there are only a few holes that have the creek in play and a couple with man made water. Pretty wide open, you can really let your driver loose out here, and the greens hold well. There are plenty of short part 4's and the par 5's are not terribly long, definitely reachable if you drive in the 250-300 yd range. Worth the price.
