Like many S. California courses Eagle Crest has just comepleted its maintenance. I played today and was very impressed with quality of the course. The greens were pure, just a little slow still. The nice guy in the shop said that the greens would be faster next week. The fairways had been cut on the front 9 and man were they lush. The back 9 was scheduled to be cut tomorrow morning. The only word that comes to mind was WOW!! I've played this course on and off for 5 to 6 years and have NEVER SEEN SO MUCH GRASS!! There was nobody out there and I played in less than 4 hours. With their Octoberfest special I played for only $40 which included a Bratwurst and Beer! I enjoyed my experience.

I am new to the game and cannot provide a technical review of the course conditions. Most of the fairways are quite wide which give a player like me a little room to breathe. Great opportunities to work on all of your shots at nearly every hole. Beautiful mountian scenery. Most definitely worth the price. Have plenty of water, it can be quite warm in the valley!

This course was challenging enough. There were some tight driving areas and trouble on each and every hole. Water and sand traps generally came into play, but the greens were a bit slow. The greens were in good shape though. There were letting the greens grow due to the heat. The rates were great - paid only $40 on the weekend! No GPS but yardage was on the sprinklers. The course is a bit of drive from Los Angeles but if you live more toward San Diego, it's really worth it. Overall, a very good place to play for the $$.

The course is in really good shape. A few tee boxes are a bit rough, and only two fairways with thin grass. The greens are in great shape. They were just a bit bumpy and slow today, but they haven't been mowed in the last couple of days. Some sand traps are a bit thin at the bottoms. All in all a very enjoyable round of golf -- well worth the drive and the price.

Course was in pretty good shape; only a few thin areas - will probably be very good in a few weeks as the weather warms a little. Not a long course, but a good test - there is a "bad miss" area off of just about every tee.
This course is in a very quiet area - no traffic noise or loud people around - very pleasant.
Played with a couple; Pat and Peggy, that live at the course and play there often - great company the whole round.

played 2-13 and course was in such good shape played 2-21. if youve played this course a few times you know there are times during the year when this course is great and other times burned out. fairways great to hit off, rough patchy in places. greens very firm, ball wont stick, but the greens and sand were very good shape. right now, for this course, it is in great shape. play it now. had coupon from paper for $27.50/week $37.50 weekend. absolutely great deal. a great shotmakers course. i will be playing once more next weekend. always liked the layout. have to play it while its in this shape.

The course is not in very good condition any more. The tee boxes are uneven and are covered with large divots. The fairways are dead thin and hard. The rough is a joke. The greens were bumpy from people not repairing their ball marks. And the Marshall was on our case the whole time (with no one behind us). This course is only tough because of its tight fairways and tee shots, but if you are somewhat accurate off the tee you will be able to eat this course up, as long as you can overcome the puts that will go all over the place.

Played Nov. 7/08. Haven't played here before. The Pro shop staff were very good. We arrived early and they asked us if we wanted to head out early...we did. The course was in very good shape. Pace of play was good, we were done in four and a half. We could have played faster if we had to, but no one behind us, and the single in front of us was long gone. Starter/Marshalls friendly. Value ($35) on Friday was very good. Greens were lush, no bare spots, a few ball marks. Bunkers were generally hard packed I was only in one, but the others in the group said the same. There were one or 2 on the back nine that looked as if they had more sand in them, and not hard, but none of us in those ones! fairways were very good as well, very few bare spots. This in NOT an easy course, seems to be lots of bunkers, OB and/or lateral hazards on EVERY hole, so length off the tee isn't as important as accuracy (where have I heard that before !!). We all really enjoyed and agreed we would play it again. Check the paper/hotel for coupons.

Well I have to say that the condition of this course has been pretty bad in the last year or so CHEERS to staff. This course is just coming out of its aerification and overseeding processes and the improvements are INSANELY GOOD. The fairways don't appear to have been dropped all the way yet but in another week or so watch out. I'd say they're about 3/4 of an inch. I've played EagleCrest on and off for about 5 years and I've never seen this much thick carpet on the fairways!!!! The greens haven't been dropped all the way either but I'd say they're rolling about an 8 but man are they lush. For the price this place is hard to beat! It is a little warm but the scenery is Awesome and its gonna be exciting to see what this place looks like in the next few weeks.
