The course is not in very good condition any more. The tee boxes are uneven and are covered with large divots. The fairways are dead thin and hard. The rough is a joke. The greens were bumpy from people not repairing their ball marks. And the Marshall was on our case the whole time (with no one behind us). This course is only tough because of its tight fairways and tee shots, but if you are somewhat accurate off the tee you will be able to eat this course up, as long as you can overcome the puts that will go all over the place.

Played Nov. 7/08. Haven't played here before. The Pro shop staff were very good. We arrived early and they asked us if we wanted to head out early...we did. The course was in very good shape. Pace of play was good, we were done in four and a half. We could have played faster if we had to, but no one behind us, and the single in front of us was long gone. Starter/Marshalls friendly. Value ($35) on Friday was very good. Greens were lush, no bare spots, a few ball marks. Bunkers were generally hard packed I was only in one, but the others in the group said the same. There were one or 2 on the back nine that looked as if they had more sand in them, and not hard, but none of us in those ones! fairways were very good as well, very few bare spots. This in NOT an easy course, seems to be lots of bunkers, OB and/or lateral hazards on EVERY hole, so length off the tee isn't as important as accuracy (where have I heard that before !!). We all really enjoyed and agreed we would play it again. Check the paper/hotel for coupons.

Well I have to say that the condition of this course has been pretty bad in the last year or so CHEERS to staff. This course is just coming out of its aerification and overseeding processes and the improvements are INSANELY GOOD. The fairways don't appear to have been dropped all the way yet but in another week or so watch out. I'd say they're about 3/4 of an inch. I've played EagleCrest on and off for about 5 years and I've never seen this much thick carpet on the fairways!!!! The greens haven't been dropped all the way either but I'd say they're rolling about an 8 but man are they lush. For the price this place is hard to beat! It is a little warm but the scenery is Awesome and its gonna be exciting to see what this place looks like in the next few weeks.

Unfortunately the current condition is ridiculously poor even considering that the greens were aerated 2 weeks ago. Slowest greens I've played. Looks like nothing has been mowed in a week. I'll play here again but not for at least a few more weeks. And how hard is it to create a level tee box?

$30 dollar special in paper made it worth the drive, tight course but fun to play, I will play again with the discount but bring lots of water it gets hot.

Now to the course...the fairways are just plain bad. This is a beautiful layout with unique challenges, but playing off of tight lies, mud flats, baked out hardpan, or turf netting adds unneccessary frustration and ruins many scoring opportunities. What's the deal here? This course should be in tip top shape, but it isn't. The Superintendant needs to answer some hard questions about his program and his staff if this is the best he can do. I can grow better and thicker grass in my backyard with THREE dogs running it! Some bunkers fluffy, some hard as cement...some greens fast, some fuzzy and slow. Very difficult to find a rhythym on this course, as it doesn't let you get into a flow.

There is really no need for me or my group to come back here until some of these issues are addressed. When courses with many more golfers using them (like Doubletree or the Vineyard) are in far superior condition, why would anyone choose Eagle Crest?

what can i say......i love the layout.....gave it a shot to see what shape its in.....fair is all i can say for now....will give it a try one more time in a month or so. greens hard as a rock at times, fairways lean in many places. tee boxes ok to fair. sand actually good. some day someone will figure out how to maintain this course. it should be like a singing hills, which is usually in good to great shape. hope it comes back, cause when its in good shape......this is a fun place to play...heres hoping.....

This is in a beautiful setting. There is lots of nature mixed in with nice views of the hillsides. This is also a great layout with nice water holes. However, it ends there. The fairways are in bad almost terrible shape. There are thin lies everywhere. The greens should be decent in a week. Sad to see a course with so much potential have such bad fairways and rough. Lots of irons were needed off the tee today.

Played 2/26. The couse was a swamp from the recent rain. One par 5 was changed to par 3 and one par 3 was the cartpath was closed due to flooding and had to detour thru some dirtroad. The only good... Continue »
