Completely UNPLAYABLE conditions. As previous reviewers stated, every fairway looks like a obstacle course with roped off areas everywhere. Management seems unfazed by the fact that their course is in horrific condition. They spent money to paint the clubhouse and pro shop, and to install new carpet in the pro shop. They bought brand new carts, custom painted to match the new clubhouse/pro shop paint. They are attempting to expand their greens while there is literally no grass on more than half of the fairway surface area. Their green fees are $100 weekday/$120 weekend. They have the "starter" give a very lengthy oral dissertation on the rules and regulations for customers playing what they seem to think is an upper tier course. Very curious priorities, as I always thought grass was at the top of the priority list for a golf course.

Played on Friday 9/3 late morning Pop was slow!!!! 5+ Hours! Course unfortunately was in terrible shape. Fairways were soggy in spots and bare in others. Really way too muddy and standing water in the middle of fairways. Greens were ok but they were re doing the fringes. Tee boxes were also all being redone which made it hard to find a spot to even tee up a ball. Overall a disappointment. I would not pay their rack rate, way overpriced considering you can play Maderas for a similar rate. Won’t be back for a while.

Very bad condition. Every fairway under repair. At least it looks like they are trying to do something about it -- ropes up all over. But unplayable in spots. Some greens with bald dirt spots. Rate should have been reduced. 50 twilight is usually a good deal, but not considering current condition.

Played Enagic at Eastlake for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. I think the course is somehow worse than what it was 3 weeks ago.

I honestly don't think there was a single fairway that wasn't under repair in some way. There was not one hole (par 4 or 5) that you could drive straight down the middle of the fairway.

They were also punching the collars on the greens. I would suggest that you give them at least a month before playing this course.

Yes it has been pretty warm (hot), but there were several holes that the fairways looked like the military had taken target practice with bombs. GUR all over the place. I can't remember any course (regardless of the price of the course) where I've seen so much GUR IN THE FAIRWAY! I would like to go back in say a month to see if the fairways are any better.

Played Enagic (formally Eastlake) for the first time since 10-2020. San Diego resident rate is $55 with a cart. You can walk but they do not offer walking rates. Course is surrounded by houses and you can easily hit 1, or 2 or 3 or …. Course is in good and very playable shape. Most tee boxes were level and good to tee from with some divot damage. Fairways were ok. Some brown and some thin spots. Most of them were ok but did find a few where I had to move the ball to get a decent spot to hit from. Rough could be pretty difficult. Off the fairways they were ok about 1-2 inches. Around the greens they got much deeper, some 3-5 inches deep. Watch your ball or you may lose it. Greens were in very good shape. Listed at 10.5 but played a little faster. Mostly flat and a few ball marks but rolled really well. Sand was crusty but playable with rakes and we’ll maintained. Pace was great, I think tee times are around 8-9 minutes apart. Course was crowded and we played behind a 2-some and had some difficulty keeping up. Finished right at 4 hours. Overall course is very playable and probably worth the resident weekday rate. Not sure about non-resident or weekend rate.

We were able to get out to Enagic 12/26/20 on a very calm and warm morning. The course was a little crowded, as expected the day after Christmas. While our POP was just over 4 1/2 hours, we didn't feel like we waited all that long. Right now I would say this course is in very good shape for winter conditions. The fairways and rough are in great hitting shape, and they even look good. The greens were decent, some are being worked on and had sand on them, others had some wear from foot traffic. The tee boxes were moved around a little and some of them were chewed up.

Overall, I would recommend playing Enagic. It is a fun course that has some challenging shots, but also some holes that you know you can score on. The staff is friendly and engaging. They did an incredible job of timing the golfers and spacing out play. They also have a set of brand new golf carts, and those are very smooth. They have GPS and the seat dividers in case you play with someone outside your family. The cart lady passed us 4 separate times and she even had hot food available. The rate was $100 but we were able to use the local rate of 75 which made it worth it.

Played on Saturday, December 19 at 9:45am with three of my buddies. We played a little Vegas game and had a lot of fun at a course I haven't played in years (back when it was called Eastlake CC).

The check in process was a breeze and the starter was very organized and ran a tight ship. We tee'd off right on time. The pace was a bit slow out as we waited on multiple shots for the first 12 or 13 holes. Played the front nine in about 2:30 and the back nine in about 2:10. The golf carts were very nice and comfortable, a bit slow on the speed but operated well.

The Course: The putting green was the nicest green on the entire property. After warming up I thought we could be in for a real treat. Needless to say the greens on the course weren't terrible but they were not like the putting green. The speed was completely different and some of the greens on the course were a bit burnt out and patchy. I'd say for this time of year in socal, the greens were a 6.5/10.

The fairways and rough were about as expected. Nothing spectacular but nothing awful. I had a couple mud balls on a few holes where the fairway was at a low point. The rough was present but not penalizing. 6/10.

I was in a two fairway bunkers and three greenside bunkers and can't complain. There was a fair amount of sand in all the bunkers and the greenside bunkers played true. 8/10.

The tee boxes were a bit beat up and some were very soggy (at least on the blue tee boxes). They had been recently mowed but weren't exactly level. I can remember about four or five holes where I was searching for a good spot to peg it in the ground. Might be because I'm a lefty and usually will tee up on the opposite side but overall I wasn't impressed. 5.5/10.

After it was all said and done, the boys all had a good day and my partner and I came out victorious! The pace and tee boxes were my biggest issues with our round. I just don't understand why courses still try to cram out as many groups as possible (every 7-8 mins). I play fairly quickly and hit it pretty straight so I prefer to finish in at or just under 4 hours but I realize that is pretty uncommon these days. We paid $75 on a Saturday morning in the heart of the holidays and covid, not a great deal but definitely not a rip off either. I'd entertain playing there again down the road.

Short Review: Place is hit and miss all over the course. Some fairways or parts of fairways are very nice 8/10, while some other areas are average 5 or 6/10. Same with the greens. Some were great, and some were not so great. Not typically a fan of courses winding/surrounded by homes and its a little on the pricey for the conditions. Would maybe play again, but at a cheaper rate.

Long Review: Our hands were tied for trying to get a Saturday tee time at some other courses, so we decided to give Eastlake a shot since it was wide open when we booked. Pretty short course, a little difficult with some blind shots if you've never played here before like me. Staff was good. Golf carts seemed new, very good shape, but slow-er. They have GPS and speakers but ours never turned on, so I just used my Garmin watch no problem. I also will say, Hole #1 is very interesting being right along the driving range with no netting. Also, a lot of holes, if not all holes, had some kind of soggy spot or multiple spots, we played lift, clean, replace out of the soggy spots. Didn't seem like it was from rain.

GREENS: The greens are difficult to rate. The practice green was excellent so we were excited. Probably a solid 8/10. But that was only replicated on the course for a handful of holes, mostly on the back 9. The first several holes the greens were about a 5.5/10, some bare spots here and there, lots of marks and very "thin". Hole 9 green was probably in the most need of some repairs for the bare spots. All of them were firm.

FAIRWAY/ROUGH: Pretty average, some areas on the lush side, some on the thin side. Good coverage though. Some areas were roped off to limit cart traffic to recover, so if you were inside that, it was a great spot.

TEES: Pretty good, some spots had more divots than others. Mostly lush with a few exceptions.

BUNKERS: Very good condition. Fresh sand. No rakes due to covid.

In my opinion, I believe this course was a little over priced for the conditions. Prime time on a Saturday I feel like should be no more than $60-65, cart included.
