Played 10/21/16 with all GolfNow singles for $14. Course was cart path only due to overseeding and the bit of rain we got. I should've walked it. I was really impressed with the superb condition of the practice green and so happy to see that translate over to the course. Greens are fully healed from the recent aerating. Fairways should fill in from the overseeding but still managed to find some good grass for the most part. Rough, around greens mostly, was super long almost Torrey South like and penal but the marshall said they were mowing soon. The infamous #4 par 3 green is still under repair and they have a temporary hole about 130 yds from the black tees. Land in the circle for automatic birdie! This is normally a challenging 160 yard three tiered green surrounded by bunkers so it will be great to play it once the green is fixed. Hole #14 par 5 green was much improved too. All in all, very glad to have a green Eastlake to add back in the rotation of cheap courses to play! The staff is friendly and the cafe has good food along with $6.50 Pacifico tall boys which I've never seen before. All tall 24oz cans are $6.50 of the usual domestic varieties and of course they have craft beer cans and drafts on tap too.

The tee boxes were good, reasonably flat and grassy. The fairways were thin, lots of brown spots with quite a few greens burned or damaged around edges.
The bunkers were nice I must say, fluffy, coming along nicely as much as you don't want to be in or near them.
The greens are the treat here genuinely running med fast to fast and flat however this round found them partially punched moreso on the back than the front.
It was noticeable on the back with some spots still sandy.
I wish they would send out the cart people or a water guy more than once every 9 holes however something is better than nothing.
I love this course, the staff is always pleasant and professional.
They have lots of deals available via the local paper Tuesday sports section SD Union/Tribune as well as the email club leaving the best for last, here.

Went out for an afternoon round teeing off at 112pm finishing up at 440pm. Played with a buddy of mine and we ran into one single right at #9 who passed us when we stopped to get a drink and never saw him again so the course was ours.
No aeration noted on the front 9 however the back 9 was recently aerated, healing nicely.
The Tee Boxes were in great shape, flat, cut nice. The fairways are spotty the entire course.
The greens were nice, rolling a little bumpy and slower since they seem to have let them grow out a bit.
I love this course having seen it in a lot better shape, it makes me sad to see it how it is now.
Tons of specials at this course so it is hard to beat the value.

The course is in better than average condition if you take in that the bunkers are under repair for the most part with the ones in play playing nicely with soft sand.
Some of the fairways are patchy with some bare spots. A patch of grass is close by so we weren't obligated to hit from the patches.
The greens are the best part of the course and are in great shape running medium fast to fast.
I was disappointed at the patches on the greens especially #14 which has been in horrible shape for quite some time.
Staff is always friendly. Did see the water guy but no cart girls at that time.
Did enjoy a nice cheesesteak w/fries for $9. Best deal IMO.
Love this course, can't wait til they get it back in prime shape.

Went and played Eastlake this morning. Course was not busy at all. Everything is still pretty lush and green. Tee boxes were in good shape, expect for a couple they were punching on the back nine. I was impressed by t he staff picking up all the broken tees. I have always wondered if it is just me or does a course look better when all the broken tees are cleared from the tee box? I think it does. Fairways were nice and lush, no real brown spots but a few divots which were I repaired. Greens were in great shape, a bit on the slow side but I don't think they have mowed them since punching. No sand on the greens and you couldn't really see that they were punched. Traps were poor. I was in a couple fairway bunkers and they were ok. Saw some green side traps which had a lot of mud and water. Played today using email coupon for $30 with a cart. That's a great deal. After 7 am it's $37 with lunch!!! If anyone wants me to email them the coupon just let me know.

Played 36 at Eastlake 3/9/16. teed off at 5:45 as a twosome with Trey for a 2 hour 45 minute round. 8:52 round in 4h 10. Tee boxes were decent. Fairways were pretty thick and not mowed yet. Rough was rough, 2 to 3 inches and made a difference. Traps were compacted and took a little getting used to. Greens were soft, medium fast, and didn't roll true. You needed to putt aggressively to avoid the unpredictable wobbles. The greens on the front side were punched as we were playing and by the time I finished the second round. They punch the front half or back half of the green and I assume will do the same for the back side soon. Service in the pro shop was good; no starter. Decent, well priced food in the restaurant. Course runs through a housing development. No awe inspiring holes but fun with lots of scoring opportunities.

Played the Blues (6224/69.6/129) using Forelinx. The weather was breezy, clear & in the low 70's. A rarity on a weekend, played as a single and played through several groups in 3H, 50M, which seemed alot longer. The tees were well maintained with few unfixed divot marks. The fairways were generally lush and well maintained. Very nice to play from. The rough is more winter thin with some lush areas and has decent coverage overall. The sand traps have a decent amount of okay sand but were not well maintained. Too many had obviously not been raked recently to be considered well maintained. The greens were very receptive to holding iron shots and were soft, not firm. They putted medium fast & were bumpy later in the day even by poa annua standards. The customer service was excellent from all encountered. They got me out as a single when the others i was to be matched up with no showed. The snack cart & Marshall each came around at least 3-4 times. I would play here more if I lived closer, really enjoy this course. Good mid level alternative in south San Diego. Recommended.

Played the Blues (6224/69.6/129) using Forelinx. Beautiful, breezy Saturday in the low 70's. Typical weekend POP, 4H, 20M. Matched with members Jim, Peter & Gregory who were not only good golfers but excellent/fun to play with. I really enjoy this layout, many fun holes as you navigate through rolling hills surrounded by upper middle class homes. The only holes that curve significantly are 6, 13 & 14, the rest are pretty straight. Several good looking par 3's over water and there is a good mixture of par 4's. The par 5's are scoreable. The tees were generally lush. Well maintained with few unfixed divot marks. The fairways were well above average for this time of year, generally lush and well maintained. The rough is more winter thin. There is some hardpan bare spots on the outlying areas, but there was good coverage in the areas you should be hitting to/from. The ball nestling down between lush clumps in thin areas was my biggest challenge. The sand traps had a decent amount of okay sand. However, you could tell they were not regularly maintained by the course and far too many golfers were not raking their footprints. The greens were spongy and very receptive to holding iron shots. They putted medium fast & were typical poa annua bumpy. Definitely the softest greens I have played on in quite some time. The customer service was excellent, they matched me up and got me right out on the 1st tee on time. Busy snack stand @ the turn and numerous water stations on the course. The snack cart & Marshall each came around at least 3-4 times. I would play here more if I lived closer, really enjoyed the course. Good mid level alternative in south San Diego. Recommended.

Decide to play in the beautiful weather today. Went to Eastlake hoping for a fast round. Haven't been to impressed with conditions lately but I was very surprised today. The course is in some of the best shape I have seen in years.

Tee boxes were a little thin but on the par 3's there was plenty of grass to hit from. The fairways were amazing for Eastlake! Nice dark green grass with great coverage. Very few divots and the ball rolled very nicely. Greens were in very good shape! Very few ball marks and med to fast speed, also unusual for Eastlake! The only ok part was the sand, heavy wet sand in most areas and some were under repair.

Played as a 3 some in about 3.5 hours and only waited on the last three holes. I had an email coupon and played for $37 with lunch, not a bad deal. If you like the lay out get out and play now, I am sure these conditions won't last but while they are here i plan on playing there again.
