Played 5-30-20 3 pm POP 3.5 hrs. Course is in overall very good to great shape. Fairway's mostly green and lush. Ball sat very nicely. Greens were receptive and were rolling at a solid medium pace. The afternoon Poana can cause a few bounces, but mostly ran well. Weekends are very full & busy, but no issues getting the round in on the afternoon start. Easy Recommend!

Played 2-15-20 12:40 POP 4.5 hrs. The frost has taken a pretty good bite out of the visuals. Like Forest92 mentioned, the course is firm and fast. Even the greens were a little faster than typical. But as dry and thin as it might look, it still plays great. Enough cushion from the fairway's to make great contact and put some stank on the balls for the firm greens. Traps & tees typical mediocre. Over all in very playable condition and still one of my favorite courses to play.

Fairways were mostly dormant so got good rollout and hardly any bad lies, rough pretty much the same. Tees a little beaten up, sand was a little hard but not too bad. The highlight was the greens, pretty well devoid of ball marks and were relatively fast with a lot of subtle breaks.
Always fun to play this course, short but very challenging with lots of ups and downs.

Played 11/16/19. Went out at 1:30 and the course was packed. Parking lot was full. Never seen it that packed before. Very slow play and did not finish. Fairway's are mostly full coverage, green and cut close. They often dye them and they look really good along the dormant rough. Looks like a Palm Springs course. Greens were a little bumpy, but typically are by late morning from the foot traffic. Were receptive and running about medium pace.
Overall in really good shape, easy recommend.

Played 10/29, at 11:10 with the GK coupon, great deal! The course is in good playable shape all around with greens still being a bit bumpy but running fast! That's not a good combo. The greens are already tricky, then add a bumpy surface (still recovering from being punched) while running really fast and . . . makes for tough sledding! Bunkers are maintained but firm without a layer of anything soft. Tees are a on the chewed up side. Fairways are mostly nice and good to play from, some tight lies here and there mixed with some soft wet areas in others. Not much rough to speak of but what there is is sticky. Staff is great, POP was right around 4 hours, weather was perfect so it was a good day to play. Fun course with lots of different challenges that will eat you up if you are off.

Played 10/22/19 1:30 POP 4 hrs. Course is in really good shape. Greens have healed. Running at medium speed and receptive. Fairways were fantastic. Mostly lush with a few dry areas mixed around. Tees & traps typical for Mt. Woodson ( not great, but decent) Really enjoy playing this course. Sometimes it beats me up and sometimes I do ok, but fun all around.

This course is a lot of fun. 1 or 2 greens had some sun damage but nothing major. Fairways are in great shape. Tee boxes give tons of beautiful views. One or two were uneven. Greens were punched last week but they’re healing up nicely will be a lot of fun in a week or two. Sand traps had great sand. Some were a little thin, but still nice loose sand. Five stars for this course. One of my new favorites.

Little bit late. Played with GKer itslikeimsayin in our GK Cup match at 11am Saturday, 9/28/19, joined by mpisarski. I hadn’t played here since 2010, and did not remember some of the significant elevation changes within some of the individual holes. Repeated plays here are definitely a benefit to know the correct hitting lines and approach lines.

Greens were receptive and rolled very nicely at medium speed. Sand was a little damp but very playable. The only tee that was sloping was on number 14. In the fairway you were usually on good turf, but rough was wildly variable depending on where you were and how far off the fairway you ventured. Holes like 2, 4, 12 and 13 have difficult, long uphill approaches and are very challenging. Many of the other par fours are short and more amenable to surgical placement of drives and approaches.

We played blue tees. Simple GPS in the carts was difficult to understand and gave conflicting yardages - you’re better off with your own tools. I knew my day was going to be more difficult when my rangefinder died on hole #2. Paid $40, started on time, played in 4 1/2+ hours on a steady, slow day. Simple clubhouse has a casual, locals vibe. No range; you warm up into some nets, but balls were good and turf good. Recommended – I’d like to get back sooner than another nine years!

Played here today with dconnally and mpisarski with an 11:00 starting time. We started right on time. POP was a little slow, not too surprising for a Saturday. We finished in 4:45. Slight rain/mist early in the round but it didn't seem to impact the course too much, except one green that had some casual water collected on it.

Conditions are good, although beware: They aerate the greens starting Monday. Greens were mostly smooth, accepted full shots well, and ran medium-fast. Fairways are the high point, really nice in many places and just a little lower condition in others. Rough was a step down in consistency, but that's fine. Most of the bunkers I was in were good, some could use some more sand. Tee boxes were probably the low point; not often flat and not as well manicured as other parts of the course.

Fun times. Definitely recommended.
