Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!Played 2/24 with an 11:10 tee time. Proshop was mildly welcoming, starter a bit better. Played behind 4 locals who took their time to say the least. We were a twosome so expected to wait but it got frustrating at times, mind you the local foursome behind us were rarely in sight. Took almost 4 and 3/4 hours to play.
The front nine is up and down hills mainly, hence the name I guess. Back nine is strange, 10 and 11 across the road are just straight away holes, then you head into the homes area with some different holes, then 17 is back to straight away. Tees appeared to have been recently resodded, some were hard. Fairways and rough semi dormant, greens were disappointing with a number of badly fixed pitch marks leading to lots of little holes!
Overall not a bad course but could have been a lot better with a little TLC on the greens and a Marshall.

Played 2/21 with a 9:40 tee time, paired with two long hitters. Pace of play was great at a minute over 4 hours. Very little waiting until the last two holes. Everything about this course is really good, pro shop reception and starter very professional and the course is in amazingly good condition for the time of year. Some of the pin positions were a challenge today as the greens were fairly fast, especially if you get above the hole.
Overall the best “golf course” in the area, what you see is what you get, no trickery here!

Played 2/20 with a 10:00am tee time. Proshop and starter very pleasant, paired up with a couple of Orange County deputies!
Interesting course with a lot of elevation changes on the front nine, more flat on mostly dormant which meant a lot of roll, sometimes into trouble! The tees were mainly flat with some bare patches and the traps were a mix of hard and very hard. The greens were in generally good shape and ran quite fast.
As a new player on this course if we hadn’t been paired with folks with previous knowledge we might be still out there on hole 2, CPO and the GPS was not very helpful.
Took 5 hours to play, saw a marshal once who said it was busy...no kidding.
Overall a good experience despite the 5 hours!

Played 2/18 with a 10:00am start time, finished in less than 4 hours and that was with a wait on the last 2 holes. Check in was OK and the starter was very good and paired us up with a local who knew the course.
The greens were the star of the show, reasonably fast and true, didn’t see any ball marks. Whoever chose the pin positions must have been having a bad day, everyone was challenging. The rest of the course was what you would expect, fairways and rough coming out of dormancy, traps a bit thin apart from two on a later hole that had white fluffy stuff!
All in all an enjoyable round.

Played on 2/17 around 10:00am, pace of play was surprisingly good until we hit 16 where 3 groups were on the tee! Fairways were in decent shape but surprisingly many traps were GUR and others were rock hard. Greens were good with some subtle breaks.
One good thing was I made it over both dogleg canyons on the back nine, but missed puts on the greens....sigh.

Played here 2/15 with a 10:30am start, quiet so got out early and didn’t see many people!
Where to start reviewing the course, well the greens were really good and the tees were mainly flat with some bare patches.
Sadly the rest is a sad story, fairways a mix of dormant, tufts and bare. There is no rough, after the fairway ends is just hard pan so if your shot goes there...goodbye. Traps were either wet or solid, or on occasions both.
The track could be attractive and challenging, but given where it is I can’t see anybody putting the necessary improvements in to make it playable, sad really.
Also 32/38 Par with 3 Par 5’s in a row to start the back 9.

Played around noon on 2/14, pace of play 4 hours, course was curiously quiet.
Front nine is way easier than the back, which is much tighter with more forced carries. Fairways were patchy and rough was much the same. Greens were smooth and reasonably fast, not many ball marks. Still a lot of bare marks around some greens.
Supposed to close down for 4-5 months at the end of March, interesting to see what it looks like after that.

Played today, 2/13, pop 4h 10min. Pleasant reception in the Proshop and the starter got us off a little early, my wife and I joined a local
Fairways were mostly dormant so got good rollout and hardly any bad lies, rough pretty much the same. Tees a little beaten up, sand was a little hard but not too bad. The highlight was the greens, pretty well devoid of ball marks and were relatively fast with a lot of subtle breaks.
Always fun to play this course, short but very challenging with lots of ups and downs.

Played on 2/11 and 2/12 on a play and stay deal. First day was CPO as some fairways were wet, especially on the front nine. Fairways a mix of format and tufts, rough not as bad relatively speaking and sand was hard and hadn’t been attended to recently. Second day CPO had been lifted, fairways had dried up somewhat although 2,7,8 and 9 were still wet and had a lot of cart damage.
On both days the greens were slow and bumpy, really difficult to get the ball to the hole.
Overall disappointing for the price!
