Played yesterday, Tuesday, 1:10pm tee. $69 riding rate because my BFF was staying there, so we got the hotel rate. Good value. We were paired with two singles that live out there in San Diego Country Estates. Great "retirement" neighborhood, although it gets a little hot. It was muggy and 92°!

Busy course, but POP was blistering in under 4hrs. Barely could keep up with the group in front of us and we didn't have any pressure from the group behind.

Course conditions are good all around. Nothing exceptional, but no complaints and super fun course. I haven't been out here for several years and the renovations on the greens and surrounding complexes are fantastic. Most of the greens didn't seem to hold shots very well which would be my only complaint. They were very quick, so beware.

Black tees all level. Good coverage. Fairways were just fine, no complaints. Rough isn't too penal here, they've let the areas under the trees go dormant, as well. Just some longer weeds to deal with in the trees. Traps were perfect, almost too much sand, but once you got used to some good fluffy sand, they were a pleasure to hit from.

Customer service was no frills. No bev cart, no marshal.

Had a great meal in the bar afterwards, highly recommend the entire property. Great stay and play during the week.

I recently made the long drive out to San Vicente Golf Resort on 7/12. For a morning rate of $99, I feel like this is a great price for the quality you get. I could not stop telling my playing partner how amazing the course conditions were from 50 yards and in. I'm not sure if they recently redid those areas on the course, but it looked like it to me. The bunkers were set up to give you great lies most of the time (Hard sand on the bunker walls, but nice soft sand at the bottom, so the balls rolls down into the good sand most of the time). The greens were also in great shape. They were cut very short and were rolling at a 10.5 at least. They have many tiers and undulations so expect to 3-putt a little more than normal. Fairways, Rough, and Tee Boxes were average-good quality, but the area from 50 yards and in was almost up to country club level! If you live within an hour of this course I would highly recommend making the drive out for an under $100 weekend morning round.

Played 4/25/25 10:30 am $99 POP 3:50. Course is trying to come out of winter and green aeration. Greens were maybe 50% back from punching with lots of sand & punches prevalent. Fairways ultra tight and thin. Starting to green, but many brown & bare patches mixed around. Good ball striking required. I was surprised at the turf conditions. I thought they would be further along in the regrowth. It appeared they were gearing up for some pre summer maintenance and preparation. I really enjoy this course but unfortunately not worth the rack rate at this time. Hopefully in the next month with warming temps the course will be back.

Played 3/15/25 2pm $65 twilight POP 4:30 Course is still in winter condition. Fairways have good coverage. Mostly thin dormant grass. Many signs of the grass starting to resprout. Another month and they should be mostly green. Greens were in very good shape. Receptive, but a little bouncy and ran on the slow side. The rain has cause a few issues around, but not much. Mostly in the bunkers that were wet firm sand. Overall in decent shape and should be improving.

Played 12/14/24 Winter has arrived as far as the course conditions. Fairways & rough vary dormant. The have dyed the fairways to give them a green appearance, but are very tight. Good ball striking mandatory! They have good coverage and played fine, just very tight. Very good roll out. Greens had firmed up a little from last time, but still receptive. Many foot prints left behind. They rolled at a medium quick pace with a decent roll. These greens are the real deal when it comes to staying below the hole and YOU WILL pay for short siding yourself. A couple of the par 3 greens had a lot of semi healing divot marks. Good POP at just a little over 4 hrs. Price a little steep for the current winter conditions, but still a recommend.

Played 11/9/24 10:20 POP 4:20 Course is in good to very good shape. Fairways have dried out a little. Possibly from the recent Santa Ana winds. They still played well. Tannish green in color with very good to great coverage. Mostly very tight with good roll out. Good ball striking was required. With the dormant Bermuda cut tight it could cause issues if even a tad fat. Rough caused no issues. Greens were the best I have seen them play. Since the redesign the greens have always played fast & firm. Today they were fast and receptive. It as always been difficult to stop shots, but today it was like throwing darts and the balls would even back up. The only issue with this was it has caused a lot of divot damage from people not repairing or incorrectly repairing their divots. The scars didn't seem to cause any issues other then visual. And I noticed many foot prints, which I have never seen here. The amazing part was how fast they were and how well they rolled. Even before when firm and fast, they weren't this fast. Down hill putts were extremely tricky on these undulating greens. I loved them. Most traps were in very good to great shape. Was in three and two had perfect sand and one had very wet sand which made it very hard to get out of. Tees were fine with a couple placed in un even locations. No cart service on this day and it was very busy on the course. Waited on about a third of the holes with #10 stacked two deep. But, pace was back to normal after about 4 holes. The course looks on the dry side visually, but is still playing good with some fantastic greens at this time. Very easy recommend!

Played 10/4/24 11:40 $99. Pop 4:40. Course is in over all very good to great condition. Much greener than I expected. Fairways are full and I will say lush, but on the dry side. Ball sits really nicely and are great to hit off. Rough and little thick, but mostly under the ball. Made it a little difficult to compress the ball. Which really comes into play on the greens. They are in great shape. On the firm side so only well struck shots had any stopping power. It doesn't appear they had been aerated as noted above. I don't know if they had a FU tournament before us or if the pin setter was just mean, because the pins were in really difficult spots right above and on break over. These greens are the real thing and are difficult all by them selves. Course was busy on this hot Oct. day in the low 100's. Looking forward to some cooler autumn days because the course is playing very well. Easy recommend.

A little on the dry & tight side, but still very nice to hit from. Greens here can be the challenge of the course. They were in great shape. Very firm, only perfectly struck shots had any stopping power, so you need to play for some roll out. And DO NOT short side your self. I still love the new green complex's. They were running a little on the slow side. They look fast, but ran at a medium pace. Bunkers & tees in good shape. No cart service. Temps were warm, but not too bad. Easy Recommend!
