Our foursome was the second group off the tee and we finished in 3 hours, 15 minutes. The first group (a foursome, walking) probably finished in just a tad over 3 hours. The group behind us was not yet to the 15th green when we teed off on 18.

The course itself is in decent shape: rough is short, fairways are OK, greens are slow (did not appear to have been cut or rolled that morning), bunkers are still in very good shape. Putting green is still closed.

Views are nice, but there is no way I'd pay roughly $225 (non-resident rate) to play the course when it is not in tournament condition--especially with the notorious pace-of-play problems that plague both the North and South courses.

Played today 5/18/2020 and it's still in poor condition. Greens were bumpy. Fairways were hit and miss with some hard and some good. Played with a tourist and he was irate at the cost considering the conditions. Will try again in 30 days but not holding my breathe. This course needs to hire a better superintendent IMO. This guy can never seem to produce.

Was 2nd off yesterday and we finished a hair less than 4 hours. I looked as we finished 17 and the group behind us was finishing on 15 so they finished about 2 holes behind. With as much rain as we had during the week I thought it would be soggy out there. Other than a few areas it wasn't as bad as I expected. The new irrigation that was installed seems to be doing the trick.

I thought the greens were pretty smooth but a tad slow. Maybe with the rain during the week and expected for the weekend and next week they weren't able to mow them as much. They actually didn't look like they needed mowing but we kept coming up short on many putts.

Fairways were pretty good. You can tell some of the crew had put down some mix in the divots in popular collection areas (e.g. bottom of the hill on 13). Still a few unrepaired divots but generally good to hit from.

Rough is down and I even dared to hit a 3 wood out of there. There are some thicker areas however. The morning dew did make hitting some shorter shots around the green a challenge but got better as the day went along.

Sand is still very soft. One guy in our group had 2 very very buried lies. I got lucky since one popped out of its mark. Whew.

Overall decent conditions for the time being with maintenance less than a month a way.

Picture perfect golfing weather with Rat-Patrol this morning. It was nice not to have the humps and bumps of afternoon Poa that I usually get when I come out for twilight. Greens excellent running 10-10.5. Fairways great although I found few of them today. Rough, thick and juicy but lies were typically very manageable unless the ball settled (Then... good luck). Bunkers are fluffy. Anything coming from a decent height and steep angle is likely to not escape its crater. POP just under 4.5. Great conditions right now.

Went off at 6:50 for a GK Cup match with lotrgolfer Matt. A bit of fog for the first couple holes but burned off quickly then warmed up nicely into perfect golf weather. The course is in excellent condition right now as you would expect a few weeks after a PGA tournament. Rough has been cut back to a good, still extremely penal, length. I like it better out here when you don't have send out a search party for every shot that doesn't find the short stuff!
Tees: level and nice
Rough: 3" and thick
Bunkers: full of fluffy sand
Fairways: lush and tight
Greens: running quick and smooth and well struck shots will spin and stop
Customer service: check in fine, saw a snack cart a few times
Recommendation: YES, for city residents and out of towners as well.

Teed off at 9:20 in the men’s club outing today. Overall conditions are still pretty solid, maybe a tick less than my last review but still nice. As expected the pace was a little slow but not as bad as I expected. Forgot to look at the time but it was less than 5 hours but probably not that much less.

Greens still rolling pretty well, maybe not as quick as previously but still at a nice pace. A few unrepaired ball marks and a few that were repaired improperly.

Fairways are great to hit from. The divots out there are starting to mount up so it would be nice if golfers would replace it or fill it with the bottle mixture.

Rough is still down but make no mistake there are places that are not great to hit from. I let my ego get the better of me on one hole. I thought I could get a hybrid on it and we’ll I’ll leave it at that.

Bunkers still soft. One guy in our group had a lie on the 3rd hole that looks like someone threw it in there. You could barely see the ball it was so buried.

Teed off right before 7 today and finished right at 4 hours. 3rd group out today and the group behind us I don’t think was on 18 by the time we finished. Very long line at check in so it was a little crazy. I’m not sure I like the starter inside the pro shop now. Everyone seems to be bunched up now.

Course is fabulous right now. These greens are rolling wonderfully and fast. Don’t be above the hole it is tricky. I had a 3 footer and ended up with an 8 foot combacker. At least I didn’t think I hit it that hard. As Happy would say just “tap it in”.

Fairways are great too. Firm rolling out some shots. . Sadly I only found one fairway some most of my observation is based on watching others hit from there and walking on it.

Rough has been cut since the tournament but man balls can still get in there making for some tricky recovery shots.

Sand is still soft had some buried lies in there. Actually not bad to hit from if you got a good lie.

Tee boxes were all great. No complaints here.

Now is a great time to get out there. If you’ve been on the fence about playing I don’t think you’ll regret it.

I was invited to play this past Tuesday with a close Friend and two of His club buddies, playing on Tuesday right after the PGA played there made for some very difficult conditions, pins were not moved from Sunday final round so they were in some brutal spots, Tee boxes were immaculate and very firm, fairways were like a dream if you managed hit your tee shot properly. The ROUGH was so penal, we didn't know for the first 9 holes that they had instituted a local rule, 3 minutes to find your ball in the rough and if you didnt you would drop at point of entry without penalty. It didn't impact our pace of play as we had to wait on the group in front of us as they also had to wait on the group in front of them and so on. Bunkers were fluffy and fairly easy to get out of. Greens were very fast as you would imagine so holding shots on the approach shots were difficult. Shotgun start at 0700H so we welcomed the suns appearance on our 4th hole. Great day and a treat to play a course in PGA conditions.

Greens were running at that 10-10.5 range I'd guess. Fairways, tee boxes, and rough all excellent. I'd probably argue that the bunkers had too much sand. Sunk a good 4 inches into one entrance and had a great fried egg/burial on hole 10. POP was slow, as expected with the difficult conditions. Still, right around tournament time is the absolute best time to play out here due to the excellent conditions.
