The greens are fantastic - but I can't read them! The course is in pretty good condition with some patchy fairways throughout. The rough is kind of hit and miss from hole to hole. Tee boxes appear to have been reseeded recently and are a bit thin and long. The recent rain did probably as much bad as it did good for the conditions. Finished in under four hours with an early morning tee time.

I think that when you play terrible and still have a good time and enjoy the course, that speaks volumes ! I have always enjoyed this course, just not too thilled that I made such a mess of it. Gree... Continue »

I think that when you play terrible and still have a good time and enjoy the course, that speaks volumes ! I have always enjoyed this course, just not too thilled that I made such a mess of it. Greens looked bad ( spotty ) but actually rolled reasonably well. Some of the tees had issues, and a few greenside bunkers were very "thin" but overall, given the time of year, decent shape.

Staff was as always, great. Being first off, so pace of play not an issue. Started the round on the back nine due to maintenance, which is a tough way to start. #10 from the tips is one tough hole !

First time out here and was very enjoyable. Fairways short, rough a bit thick at times. Fairly wide open to hitting areas, with no multi-level greens making it a bit easier to read. Overall course conditions were a bit wet with a 9am tee time. Sand, although dark in color (almost like mud), was nice and deep in the five traps I entered. Course had some beauty to it as well, with all the lakes full, water-falls operating, making for a perfect setting. A certain course to return too!!!! This is also home to the best cart GPS system I've ever come across. Big screen, birds eye view of overall hole and green closeup, along with distances to all the hazards.

Forgot just how much I enjoy this course! Very unique in that there are no par four holes over 400 yards, which even playing from the tips, suits my game just fine. The par 3's and last two par 5's ... Continue »

Forgot just how much I enjoy this course! Very unique in that there are no par four holes over 400 yards, which even playing from the tips, suits my game just fine. The par 3's and last two par 5's are plenty long however. Course just "sets up for my eye"

Condition was very nice. A few bunkers which were "thin" but overall the course is well manicured. Staff was great. Wish I lived closer, as I would play here more often

Played the Twin Oaks Luck O' The Irish 2-man scramble on March 14. 1PM shotgun, so the wind affected holes differently than it does when I usually play, in the morning. Course is still in decent shape. Greens were soft and a bit bumpy, causing some putts to hop around a little, but overall their condition is fine. Still a great value considering Arrowood charges full price despite aerating their greens and Encinitas Ranch doesn't seem to care about course maintenance anymore.

Other than the slow pace of play, Twin Oaks is a great value for the $ spent

This was the first time I have played Twin Oaks. We had a 11:00 o'clock tee time and started on time. Pace of play was good at just over 4 hours for 18 holes. The course is in reasonably good condition for the winter. The bermuda fairways are dormant but have a good amount of cushion so they are playable. The greens are running about 9 on the stimp meter and are mostly smooth. A few greens are soft and have ball marks. The bunkers are okay but have occasional pebbles. The course is a little tight and gives the straight golfer an advantage. All in all we had a good time and found it to be a bargain using the Greenskeeper.org coupon.

Played 12/15/13 11 am $40 GK coupon POP 4 hr. Used the new GK specials. Fantastic deal !!!!!! Course is in good to very good shape. The recent frost has caused a little of the grass to burn in the fairway's, but they still played well. Mostly green with very few damaged, thin or bare spots. I didn't find any bunkers, but practiced out a couple for fun and they were in very nice shape & soft. T's were great and the rough was fair and not too penalizing. The greens were fantastic !!! smooth and ran at about medium fast/ fast. They claimed to run at 10 and I would say that was correct. A real pleasure to putt on. Layout is fun, challenging and keeps you thinking. My favorite type of golf.
