PLayed Saturday, Aug 16 at 7:30am. $61 with cart. POP was just fine at just under 4hrs. No frills customer service. Only saw the beverage cart once and it was towards the end of the round. They have a snack bar at the turn and we BYOB so not a big deal. It's a short course, so don't expect much of a challenge. But conditions are better than average and it's quite fun. All the par3's are full clubs and a good variety, you'll hit a lot of different clubs throughout your round. Teeboxes were pretty level and decent coverage, no complaints except for number three they had the blue tees way up which is a bummer because the back tee box is pretty awesome on that hole adds extra elevation and distance. Fairways were in very good shape. Nice cushion and coverage. Rough is only about one inch longer than fairway, easy to hit from with no problems. Found one bunker and it was just fine. Not perfect and a little bit of hardpan, but it wasn't too bad. Greens were good, not great, but very playable. Lots of seniors play this course and maybe they're too old to bend over and fix their ballmarks. Occassional bumpiness. Medium speed to slightly quick on downhillers. It's fun to play every once in a while. We had two foursomes before heading to Del Mar racetrack, so the price was right for a weekend morning to save some cash for betting the ponies. Recommend if you've never played it, but it won't be a regular on the rotation.

Played here Monday June 16 with an 11:15 tee time, with my wife riding along as a spectator. I've been using all my JC Golf Players Club card benefits before they expire later this week, one of which was a "bonus" coupon to play here for cart fee only. I asked the starter if it was busy, and when he said it hadn't been for the last hour, I asked if we could play by ourselves. The starter deferred to another employee who said no, we were scheduled with a threesome, and sent us to the tee. Turned out the threesome had a few riding spectators as well and also wanted to play alone, so they suggested we go ahead. Total POP wasn't too bad at just about 3:30, but the vast majority of that time was waiting around.

Conditions are good. Greens were medium speed, softer than they were firm, and very smooth. Fairways had good coverage and provided nice lies. The rough was a mix of grasses of varying conditions; some bare spots, some sticky kikuyu, some crabgrass, among them. I was only in one bunker and it had plentiful sand but could have been better maintained. Blue tee boxes were mostly fine.

This was my first time here and it's a really fun little course (par 62). The most surprising element is how much tilt is in these greens. I feel like executive courses often have mostly flat greens to cater to beginners, but these have some significant slope, even if there aren't all that many interesting internal contours. I had a couple chips and even short putts get away from me that rolled well beyond what I expected. A few holes play up against the mountains, which are probably the most memorable spots on the course. The rest snake through the resort buildings, so there are rarely parallel holes. There are some funky mid-distance holes that the card lists as Par 4/3, which is always confusing to me. I'm not sure who's to say if you play it as a par 3 or a par 4. Overall, I had a good time and would recommend this place to anyone seeking a more-interesting-than-normal executive course in a nice, picturesque setting.

No cart limitations except close to the greens. The course staff is very friendly. It's always an enjoyment to play this course.

Played here Sun 10/3, 8am and 2pm... part of a 16 person tourney. Decent resort course with a variety of holes. 120ish to 320. A few drivable holes for this 260+ yd driver. Quite a few challenging par 3 holes. Trouble on many holes, but wide open on others. Our tourney was designed with high handicappers in mind, so this was in deference to them, while still offering a challenge to the sticks to try and go under par. Not as easy as it sounds. Greens about a 10 in decent shape. But bumpy. course in decent playable shape. Tee boxes a mess. Good pace. Cart girl drove around a few times. My main complaint is still the same as 10 yrs ago... the public is too close to the course... streets in slice area, resort rooms in danger, and people playing/exercising on the course anywhere they want. Not my first choice, but fun for us nonetheless.

Customer service was very good.

Greens: very smooth, soft and medium speed.

Fairways: good winter condition.

Traps: was not in any but they looked thin and hard packed sand.

Rough: playable, 1-3" high.

POP: just over 3 hours.

No driving range only a net to hit into. Also, no GPS in the carts.

I promised myself I wouldn't come here again after my last visit, which was horrible. Well, my wife and kids wanted to play and I decided to give it another chance. Should have stood by my promise....... Continue »

Lots of ball marks on the greens. I repaired at least 5-6 every green, and that's no exaggeration. Not to mention they were all sanded, which we were never told when I called. Sand in the bunkers was decent as were the fairways.

But, as last time, the resort guests are clueless. Kids playing soccer on the fairways, parents playing with kids on tee boxes, adults with their kids using the cart paths as side walks to get around the property, parents with kids fishing with in the greenside water hazards, and on and on. There are signs instructing the resort guests not to loiter on the course or cart paths, but they are ignored. It's just a zoo here.

If the resort wants to feature a golf course and cater to golfers, then take care of the guests who are paying the green fees who are playing. It's not too much to ask to not have to worry about maneuvering around folks that should not be there in the first place.

By the time we got to 17, there were a dozen kids and parents running around all the tee boxes and completely ignored us when we drove up. We had to skip over to 18, but there were kids taking selfies from the middle of the fairway. So, we left and didn't get to finish.

Fool me twice, shame on me......won't be back. Period.

Played on Saturday, Thanksgiving weekend. Used underpar deal for $50 for twosome, great deal, with a cart. Course is in pretty dang good shape! Teeboxes had good coverage, but some of them were sloped a little bit, no big deal. Fairways were in good shape, nice and green with perfect firmness. Greens were really nice, actually. Held shots very well and putted smooth. Very fast downhill, as usual, I think. Stay below the hole! Bunkers were pretty hard under about an inch of soft sand, beware. They weren't awful, just not very good. Overall, had a great time, this course has lots of challenging par 3s, some long one's. Used just about every club in the bag. The par 4s are all very easy, even though I didn't birdie any of them, ouch. POP was not a factor, not very crowded and we took our time.

Haven't played here in like 25 years and I enjoyed it. Course gives you a chance to hit just about every club in your bag and you need to be hitting good shots to have any chance to score here. Plenty of areas to get in trouble with water and OB, did it a few times myself.

Greens were definitely the highlight. They were very nice, in great shape, soft and receptive, putted smooth, very fast downhill, look out! Tee boxes were a mixed bag, some were bad others were good, always found a decent spot to put the peg in the ground. Found a couple of bunkers, they weren't that great, but with so much rain recently, I'll give them a pass. The fairways that were in play were in decent shape, not perfect, but usually found good lies. Rough around the greens could be penalizing at times. All things considered, had a good time and will be back. Good place to bring the wife. POP was not an issue, moved right along. Cart girl came around twice. Cart guys and proshop guys were all great, great communication and orderly. Go ahead and get out there, you'll enjoy it every once in a while.

great course conditions from the greens to the fairways to the traps. although a par 61, you can use all the clubs in your bag including the driver! beautiful views of the surrounding mountains etc. pace of play was good, had a drink cart and an "ambassador" making sure we were having a great time. some short holes too...but nice to take the wife or girlfriend on this course.
