NO WAY is this a course that deserves an 8+ rating. The fairways were very hard with brown dying grass - greens had multiple grass types - rough was non-existent. Environmental hazard areas run along all holes and many greens edges are within 5 feet of the hazards. Greens are full of shelves, dips, bends, hills and valleys. Only things missing are windmills and clowns. Oh, I forgot to mention - the round that I started on a Sunday afternoon at 2:00 took 5 1/2 hours, although we were waved through by 3 foursomes during the round. I've never seen so many people rolling the ball down the fairway at a course charging nearly $100.

Finally the rain stopped and I got to play some golf. The course was fairly dry, but the bunkers were a mess from the rains and the cart paths showed how much rain the course got from the past week with a lot of dirt covering them in areas. The greens were in good shape and rolled nicely and were faster than I expected. Overall the course is in great shape besides the bunkers, but I am sure they will have those fixed by the middle of this week. No standing water in fairways or in the rough.

Played on the 1st using a 2 for 1 coupon. There is no other course in San Diego on New Years Day that will touch this course right now for 40 bucks. Greens a little inconsistent with their speed, but in good shape. Rough and Fairways in good shape and the sand is nice. Great customer service and pace of play was pretty good. Overall conditions nice and the course is still as challenging as ever.

Played on Sunday and the course is in great shape. Greens are nice and the course has dried out from the overseeding. A couple of the greens are having some issues with disease and I hope they can stop it from taking them over, but they are so big that the pin placements are in the nice spots on the greens. Sand is great and tee boxes and rough are nice as well. Good time to play the crossings

Very challenging course all the greens are terraced so don't be fooled if you hit the middle of the green you may have to go up and down. By terrible the greens have lots of divots and real real sandy hard to get a read and true roll. Hit the ball in the fairway ob will kill you.

Played on Thursday the 1st and got out around 1230. Played in 3 1/2 hours. Course is going through fall maintence, tee boxes are overseeded, so most played up and greens were punched, but only 1/2 of the green, so it did not effect the putting much. Rough is really high in some spots. Lots of water on the course right now because of the overseeding. I might wait a couple of weeks before going out again to let the course come back in.

Played Sunday 9-20-09. We had a noon tee time but got out about 20 minutes early. Mary at the bag drop was great. Very personable. Inside staff was also pleasant and professional. Grass driving range was in good shape. Tee boxes were way over watered probably in preparation of overseeding . Fairways were ok. Greens were very slow. Was not in any bunkers but they appeared to have plenty of sand. Pace of play was ok. 4:40 or so. Not bad for a late Saturday behind a small tournament group. Course was playing very short. Most of the tee blue and black tee markers were moved up to the whites. Course is hilly and narrow. Paid $59 with an email special. Yes there was airplane noise and you could hear screams from the rollercoasters at Legoland but not a deal breaker. I'd play it again.

Played here last Sunday with my brother and uncle while the family was at Carlsbad outlet. Played for $89 pp thru golfnow. This course is a nice course. Played very fast, some fairways were GUR. Enjoyed the round. The greens rolled true, some of the greens on the back 9 looked like it belonged in a putt putt course with the undulations. If you've played it you would know what i was talking about. Since it was the 1st time playing did not know you had to be on a certain side of the green or a 3 putt was certain. Customer service was great. Will be back again.
